Mocking The Draft Shareece Wright 2011 NFL Draft Interview

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to speak with one of the top 15 Corneback prospects in the 2011 Draft.  Shareece Wright took time out of his day right after a workout to answer a few questions for us at Mocking The Draft. We had some unexpected technical difficulties arise as we started this interview but though the patience of all parties we came up with a plan B that worked out perfect. So we got going...

Mocking The Draft: Can you tell your fans and the scouts who Shareece Wright is besides the CB we see on the field?

Shareece Wright: I like to keep in touch with my family and fans and have a Ustream on my Facebook page to answer questions fans have. I play some madden in my free time, and I watch some ESPN. I also like to go on you tube and that type of thing as well.

Mocking The Draft MTD Live Draft Signups (5 rounder)

Hey guys the community wide mock draft will be doing our first 5 round mock coming up on the 18th and 19th (if we can't finish for some reason we will use the 20th). This is the same draft we did last year and it will be the same format. We will be doing it over the course of a weekend and there will be NO TRADES. I will begin collecting representatives for teams and backup reps. If on the day of the draft  the main and backup rep are not present all reps are required to present a 10 person Big Board per round. This time around you will have to have at least 2 rounds worth of BPA's turned in to sign up. By draft day I think you can have a basic 5 round BPA done.

Our big board is availabe right for your use on draft day to know who is availabe here: https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0Av3Fah0qKP1idE9IRUV6OEVNVjZTWC1PdGYwQTBIUUE&hl=en&single=true&gid=0&output=html

*******************

Your BPA lists need to be sent to Shake and you can find his email here: shake1n1bake@yahoo(dot)com. If you can also send them to me colts.faithful@yahoo(dot)com then that will be benifitial for me putting you on the signup list.

********************

1. I will announce which team is on the clock with the following comment: THE DALLAS COWBOYS ARE

NOW ON THE CLOCK!! ...After this message, you will have 5 minutes to make your selection.

2. Your selection MUST appear as this in the subject line: WITH THE 33RD PICK IN THE DRAFT, THE

(TEAM) SELECT (PLAYER NAME) , (POSITION) ,(SCHOOL). Please use all caps so your pick will stand

out.

3. For the first 2 round we want you to provide your reasoning for your pick and this will be emailed to

(Colts.faithful@yahoo(dot)com)

PLEASE DO NOT USE THE SUBJECT LINE FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN PICKS. Not using the subject

line will help, in following the conversation on each pick. And most importantly, when we put together the

front page article ,it will be Easy for us to find if we are behind.

4. The draft thread will still be updated after each selection or as fast as possible by one of the coordinators

(JP23). You must have your 5 round BPA list in by the end of the day January 17th to (shake n bake).

We will be starting the draft at  7pm EST Friday the 18th.

Star-divide

Please Rec. and if you have any questions ask. Oh and if you can put BPA's in an excel sheet and email them it will make our job easier when we go to combine and put all lists in one doc.

Thanks

Mocking The Draft With the 9th pick in the NFL draft the Cowboys select...

Offensive line. According to Jerry Jones Owner/GM of the Dallas Cowboys they first want someone who is going to make an impact and contribute immediatly. Although I don't see that happening with many of the lineman some appear to. Jerry also gave us this bit of info to help us believe this was the way he is going:

"You look at numbers, you've got five positions on the offensive line and certainly that gives you a chance to address that area because of the numbers ofplayers that you play in that unit."

If you want to read the rest you can find it here: http://gridironfans.com/forums/latest-nfl-headlines/150615-jerry-jones-hints-cowboys-may-target-offensive.html

Few things to keep in mind:

Tackles for the Cowboys generally are 6-6 and above and weigh about 320 and above. Also for G/C it gets lighter to about 310 to 320 and between 6-2 and 6-5

So looks like we should start finding that lineman who could go in the top 10 right? What you guys think of these comments?

Mocking The Draft Mock Draft #little controversial

Alright guys here is my second and probably final solo mock for a while. Please give me all your thoughts on my picks, expect me to defend them, and realize im after what the most likely thing is for the team to do as well as a little personal opinion going in im sure. I think for me the biggest surprise is now who is in the 1st but how some of the positions laid out cause they way players in certain positions (OT, DE) laid out isn't common really.

A last thing to keep an eye on in the near future is that somewhere between January 16-20 we will be starting our first of many 32 rep mock drafts. This means that ill be putting up a post probably beginning of this next week looking for reps and please just sign up if you are completely committed. FIrst one will probably be 2 rounds.

Canal Street Chronicles Who should the Saints first pick of the draft be?

Im,  curious as to what you guys feel right now are the biggest weaknesses on your team? Needs that when we do reach the draft you think need to be addressed? To me it seems to be your run D but then again im not a Saints fan and don't know your players on the line and or your LB'ers that well in order to judge if that is where one may go with the first pick.

And on that note thanks and good luck the rest of the way this season

Mocking The Draft Team Needs in 2011 Draft: NFC EAST

Hi guys...So as we wait on more mocks and College games to evaluate the prospects lets have a discussion. I would like to, particularly, from fans of each team see what positions you think are the biggest needs at this time. I Would also like it in order of biggest need first. This is just going to help  in at least having drafts that are mroe often than not at least the correct positions even if maybe not the round you want. So lets start this discussion off with:

Eagles

Cowboys

Redskins

Giants

Mocking The Draft Alright your pick this year is??

I don't know if you all remember this, but it's time once again to reintroduce all you wannabe GMs to the closest thing any of us will ever get to participating in a draft that has no fantasy value whatsoever.

Last year we had 3 live mock drafts during the cold winter between the Super Bowl and the actual 2010 NFL draft.  A 3 rounder, 4-5 rounder, and a full on 7 rounder complete with undrafted free agent signings.  Well, we just kind of had a free-for-all, grab-ass party of undrafted players after the mock, but it was official to us.

Anaheim Calling Random Conversations leads to Random Fanpost

As many of you know I'm your moderator but who cares right? I know I don't lol. No but I am also the guy who posts fanposts such as (NFL Prospect profiles). So don't expect a ducks related post all the time in other words...

So me and Arthur had a conversation over twitter tonight and realized that in both Baseball, and Football all of the Staff members are fans of different teams. So the only team that we have in common is the Ducks so as Arthur said we are sorta a bunch of misfits. So you ask why is this ass posting this? Well it got me wondering where your loyalties stand in other sports?

Lets have a generalized sports conversation lead us up to the game Friday night.

Mocking The Draft HELP WANTED: Trying to get the starting pieces for a Big Board ready for Mocks Drafts.

I have begun to get all the eligible prospects together in a Big Board format exactly like the one used last year in the Mock The Draft site mock drafts. I would very much appreciate someone I can count on to be committed as much as it is necessary to be anyway, to both get all prospects on there, and to work with me to get our most accurate rankings of the players for Mock Drafts.

If you have any interest in doing this with me then email me (my email is: colts.faithful@yahoo.com) and we can talk about it. If you are not the one that I have helping me actually put the names in you can still give us players names who you know are eligible that we are missing and id ask that you would.

Thanks,

Travis

Mocking The Draft AFC EAST: Regular and Postseason Predections

The season is drawing near, so naturally it is time to look ahead to the playoffs. No? This eight-part series takes a look at each division and discusses the outlook for every team in the NFL -- in both the regular season and playoffs. (will have to finish reasons later but needed to get last post up).

AFC EAST

TEAM: Pats

RECORD: 10-6 ; Win the Division (won one more common game than the jets to win the tie breaker)

REASON: The Pats have been a top 5 team in the NFL for years but are they finally starting to regress? Id say they are in some areas but they do have Tom Brady and a good offense on paper and even on the field this season if all goes as they hope. One question mark I see is Wes Welker, all signs look good with him but after anyone comes off of two surgeries to repair torn ligaments there are question marks surrounding them. If he is able to get out there and play at 80% at least he can really help them. Second question mark is Randy Moss who seems to be slowly reverting back to his Raider days. We ask him what are you going to do this season? Now besides those two things they have added two pieces who may get a chance to contribute in tight end Aaron Hernandez a good blocking tight end, and Brandon Tate a potential deep threat for Brady.

Now on the Defensive side is where we see some deterioration from previous seasons. First they lost both Ty Warren and Liegh Bodden, There pass rush is now questionable at best, and their secondary is not very intimidating as they try and get younger. Some players to keep an eye on this season though in which if they step up would have an impact like Powers and Lacey did for the Colts last season on defense are: Rookie corner back (CB) Devin McCourty, second year CB Darius Butler, and rookie line backer Brandon Spikes.

TEAM: Jets ; Win the Wild card

RECORD: 10-6

REASON:

TEAM: Dolphins

RECORD: 8-8 ; No Playoffs

RECORD: 4-12 ; No Playoffs

Mocking The Draft AFC SOUTH: Regular and Postseason Predictions

The season is drawing near, so naturally it is time to look ahead to the playoffs. No? This eight-part series takes a look at each division and discusses the outlook for every team in the NFL -- in both the regular season and playoffs.

Johnny Hanson Chronicle

AFC SOUTH

TEAM: Colts

RECORD: 15-1 ; Win Division

REASON: The Colts have only gotten better since last season when they went to the Superbowl so why not 15-1? Some will bring up the fact that Bill Polian will just rest players the last two games if he can afford to which he may not be able to do. Thought is that since they will have to play division games at the end of the season that they will no matter their record have to play there starters or at least most of them. There are two big additions that can really help them more this season; The first is Bob Sanders their Safety, and if he stays healthy would give a huge boost to the whole defense helping their Run defense the most. On offense they obviously have manning but he then has his targets in Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Austin Collie, Pierre Garçon, and returning after a season ending injury last year first round pick Anthony Gonzalez. There weakness is def. the offensive line and this will be a big area of concern for the team and fans thought the season.

Mocking The Draft NFC EAST: Regular and Postseason Predictions

The season is here, so naturally it is time to look ahead to the playoffs. No? This eight-part series takes a look at each division and discusses the outlook for every team in the NFL -- in both the regular season and playoffs.

Ed Reinke | AP Photo Kevin Kolb

NFC EAST

TEAM: Philadelphia Eagles

RECORD: 10-6 | Win Division

REASON: Even after trading away quarterback Donovan McNabb, the Philadelphia Eagles should be able to thrive with the pieces around new quarterback Kevin Kolb.  Kolb has only started two games in his career, but he has shown a lot of promise, displayed poise, and has a strong arm.  The talent of players like tight end Brent Celek, and wide receiver DeSean Jackson will certainly benefit Kolb in his new role.  The Eagles also boast a solid defense, which will help keep the ball in Kolb's hands and keep him out of holes on the scoreboard.
