Should Niners Receive Saints 2nd Rd Draft Picks?
It is interesting, following in the wake of the already infamous Greg Williams pump up speech before the Saints-Niners game, to wonder if Goodell will award the Niners with the 2nd rd draft pick that was forfeited by the Saints. This would surely bolster our draft prospects and improve our team as well as provide some sort of payback to the Saints for their egregious errors in judgement, if they haven't received enough already. There is also the 2013 draft pick that was stripped. Is it plausible to think this could happen? Or should the Niners receive no special considerations even though they are the main victims in the damning audio document that has hit the net? If it were a team like the Rams or Dolphins (in the basement of their divisions unlike the Niners) would Goodell provide them with the pick? Is he holding it back because the Niners did so well last season and look primed for a Superbowl run anyways? I think the Niners SHOULD get the pick of course, but they wont in all likelyhood. What's The Faithful's opinion?
Giants shouldn't touch the Hot Stove.
Just like any sane mother would tell her child... you don't touch a hot stove unless you wanna get burned.
Now I know that most of you are riding the wave of a world series championship, just like I am, but on the horizon lies what could be a turbulent hot stove season. Yes there are names like crawford, werth, dunn, fielder, etc available but I believe the Giants could very well stand pat for the most part... and I don't mean burrell when I say that. The reality of our situation is that the Giants are world series champions, and have some tough choices to make. Bringing in a guy like crawford or werth Is going to handicap us just like zito and rowand have. We need those Zito Dollars to lock up our Big Four-Timmy, Cain, MadBum, and Chez And Buster Posey. The smartest move this offseason is to sign the guys that got us there- Huff, Uribe, Torres, Ross, on the cheap and hope that our pitching will carry us at least till midseason where we can make an addition or two and make another postseason run. This will allow us to wait out zito's un-moveable contract and get past the rowand deal and keep our pitching nucleus intact. Keeping all four of our pitchers is great because we can always let one go(Sorry Chez) for a bat if say Zack Wheeler is the next Matt Cain. And Lest We forget we have Roger Kieschnick, Brandon Belt, Gary Brown, Francisco Peguero, among others all waiting in the wings. We'v got a chance at history with this staff and I'm not willing to lose that For a fucking ex dodger/Phillie or an aging Carl Crawford to patrol an easy left field.
The Best Move we can Make is Waiting for our young guys to come up and be our bats and make sure we have a Perennial All Star Starting Four Waiting for them when they get here.
Keep those hand off the Stove Sabean... like you usually have.... DONT STOP NOW JUST CAUSE WE ARE CHAMPS.
And BTW... Giants are world series CHAMPIONS
