Jason Sobel  wrote a great article about whether Tiger Woods is “bored” with playing golf.

After the first events of the PGA Tour season, I’m  asking myself if the entire PGA Tour membership is bored with playing golf.

One astute player on the Tour said he wanted Woods to return to the game as soon as tomorrow because Woods is needed on the Tour in part because “he makes us  play better”.

Guys. If that's the case, you need to find another reason to play better. Find another motivator and find it fast.  Cause the money apparently isn't doing the trick.

I keep hearing the traditionalists say that golf is greater than one person.

At this point, sure, golf will continue but not to the level  Woods elevated it in the general public eye, bored or not. And there's the rub. General public interest drives the TV ratings, drives the excitement, drives the sponsor interest, drives the game to top of mind.
