Dater post missing

So, I get home from work last night and I read a Dater post on All things Avs about Eric Lacroix and the dangers of him being the new GM. In it, AD mentions that he doesn't care what happens to the team, as he has said before, and I wrote a long comment about how I wished to have some passion for the team and the writing, even if he wasn't obligated to root for the team due to his position as a journalist. I didn't disagree with the post so much, just the "I don't care" attitude.

So today I go back to see if he has responded, which he usually will to people in his own comments, and the post is gone. I thought the comment might be because I used shit in it (albeit sh!+), but the whole post has disappeared.

I had to go back and check my browser history to make sure I wasn't just imagining the whole thing, found the page, and got a page does not exist from the ATA page.

So my question is, has anybody had this happen before? I'm not going to be presumptious and assume it was my comment that made him pull it. I did like the post, just not quite the way he said it, and kinda wanted to re-read it today (sober) to make sure I wasn't being a jackass. So just curious if anyone here has seen posts just disappear before.

Well, I'd guess this hardly surprises anyone. Least it isn't his shoulder or a knee. probably would have only been a few weeks if the season weren't about done anyway.

Well, I thought someone would have posted this by now, but I guess not. Apparently Jibbles isn't the only one who thinks the avs should make a serious run at Harding this year. For the record, I agree. Which means FG will sign someone else, of course...

Salary cap issues and the trade deadline

I think this is going to affect a lot of GM's in to having a quiet day tomorrow...errrr, today, and it ties in nicely with a lot of what dater says in his most recent blog post
http://blogs.denverpost.com/avs/
It cements even further my opinion that the best thing the avs can do to improve their team is fire the coach. And I used to think that was an excuse because you couldn't fire the whole team.
It seems that in the very near future, there may be a lot more buyout/waiver situations than we see now, and you know, I'm not sure that's a bad thing either for the avs or for the league as a whole. It might cut down on some of the stupid money being thrown around these days.

Boumeester?

Boumeester?

"Even if a deal seems less likely with Florida in playoff position, the Panthers reportedly will consider offers for D Jay Bouwmeester, but would require more than just prospects and picks to make such a deal. The Buffalo News says that the asking price is a top-four defenceman and a veteran forward that can be sold to the Florida fan base (and help the Panthers make the playoffs this season)."

So I don't normally get into the trade deadline hype and speculation because so much of it is blatant BS or outright wrong, but the asking price for Florida's stud d-man caught my eye. That price would seem to have leo and lappy written all over it. Even if we had to throw in something else (pick or someone like hensick or svatos) and take one of their players (skrastins? ha, just kidding) it seems like this would be a good deal for us (especially if we could hypothetically/ fantasy world reality sign lappy back in the summer). The trouble is, I don't know if it would be a good deal for them. What do you guys think? Pipe dream or potentially good trade for both teams (ie one that has a reasonable shot). For trades that will make you laugh, see here

Rich Peverly waived- FG take notice

Rich Peverly waived- FG take notice

FG- It's ok to waive crappy players (yeah, I'm talking about Tyler "donut hole" Arnason here) who do nothing for your team except make the fans bitch and moan. Especially given the strong play of a few of your younger players lately. Just take a look at the numbers- (after all, "the numbers are the numbers, folks")

Peverly 2-7-9 in 27 games, The Arnageddeon 2-9-11 in 41 games.

It would seem that SOMEBODY would take Arnason off your hands. Of course, Peverly actually is on pace for better numbers per game, but Atlanta can't have the only crappy GM, can they?

Wanna live in Detroit?

I didn't think so. Neither does anybody else. Found this quote in the print version of the rocky mountain news, but couldn't find it online to post a link. Since its been boring lately I figured I'd just write it in since it was short and I wanted to rip on Detroit a little bit.

"$1. Thats what a house in Detroit sold for recently. The home, located close to the Detroit City Airport, was foreclosed upon last summer, after it was purchased for $65,000 in 2006, according to The Detroit News.

The bank was so eager to sell the foreclosed property, it lowered the price to $1 in a final attempt to find a buyer. According to the newspaper, 14 days after the property was listed for $1, a woman purchased the house as 'an investment property'. The property taxes will run the new owner $3,900 in 2009."

Even for a dollar no one actually wants to live there. At $1 it still took two weeks for someone to buy it. Wish I woulda known. Hell, for a dollar I'd have bought it, just to paint it in avs colors and decorate it in avs merchandise. Maybe have a few effigies hanging in the front yard. Then, when the a-hole Wings fans burnt it down I could have collected a nice insurance check!
