Gwinnett Braves

Anyone else thinking that the Gwinnett Braves may be more exciting for die hards to go see play than the actual Braves? Talk about the right time to move from Richmond, if there could ever be a right time for that (seriously, how long have the Richmond Braves been around?). I agree that the move was a smart one, as Richmond or Norfolk should be the AAA squad for the Nats, and with the load of talent in the system the Gwinnett team should have great attendance.

So my question is how many Gwinnett games do you think you will hit, and who are you most excited about seeing other than Hanson, Freeman, Schafer or Heyward?

if he wants Wren to talk about Peavy again.

http://hotstove.mlblogs.com/archives/2008/12/braves_still_not_ready_to_revi.html

Basically, Escobar is off the table now, and Wren said he won't call Towers, that Towers has to initiate contact. I agree with that, and with Escobar being off the table.

Make the full court press on Sheets, and let the Yanks overpay for AJ. Go after RJ too, though, and Greinke as well. F it. Go after everyone everywhere.

All I know is that the Braves can't enter the season with:

Smoltz

Vazquez

JJ

Campillo/Reyes/Morton battling for the last two spots?

F me in the eye with a broken spoon.

Not much new in there, but at least we had his ear through the night. Hopefully CC going to the Yanks, and the new Lowe offer by the Yanks, will help the Braves get this done.

I've changed my mind on Sheets now too. I want one of these two, if not both. I also wouldn't mind hearing a name other than Dye in regards to LF.

Peavy Deal Imminent?

Looks like a deal is going to go down soon, ladies ang gents.

The link above takes you to my blog entry on this. The following link takes you directly to the article:

http://yankees.lhblogs.com/2008/11/06/yankees-not-in-the-mix-for-peavy/

And here is a link to a USA Today article about this

This is going to get really interesting. Three team deal between the Braves, Cards and Pads could be in the works. I don't know anything, I'm just speculating. Ludwick, Kelly Johnson and Peavy could all windup being in the same deal. Or there could be a sign and trade with Dempster in the works that would send Peavy to Chicago.

You play Frank Wren for a day.

I usually do my blogging over at my site, www.thesportsidiot.com, but I thought I would pose a question here to the Bravos fans. You play Frank Wren for a day. What package would you propose for the following players:

Matt Holliday is on the blocks. He is signed through 2009. What would you give Colorado for Holliday?

Peavy. You know the story. What are you putting on the table?

Florida Marlins pitcher Scott Olsen, who is arbitration eligible. Also Dan Uggla, and Kevin Gregg. Uggla would take an overwhelming offer.

Prince Fielder.

That is all I have for now. Holliday and Peavy are the two that I'd most like to see thoughts on. I have seen many times who people do not want to give up for Peavy, but nothing on who they would be willing to offer up for him.
