The Jaguars cannot fixate on Sunday's loss to the Dolphins and be able to beat the undefeated Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night. How well we practice to overcome our mistakes in the days before the game will determine our readiness.

To entertain a motion, Can the Jaguars beat a mysteriously injured Colts team, if Jim Caldwell decides to rest any starters? Yes, even the team that got blown out by Seattle could beat a backup lead Indy. After seeing our rookies and other young players continually improve through the losses and wins, they are becoming more consistently solid. Now that I've described our next game, let me point out some things I observed in the Miami game.

Observations

1. Garrard has two modes: Pocket Passer and Weave and Leave.

When pressure by insane amount of defenders, Garrard instantly enters the frame of mind which is "Weave and Leave". If you watch closely last game, you'll see when Garrard is doing his odd maneuvers he holds onto the ball with two hands and looks around him instead of down field. This is good and bad for the success of the down. Sometimes, he'll make a couple guys miss and all the coverage guys will be far enough away to scramble for some yards, other times he'll get sacked or throw a inaccurate ball. We all know about how he is in "Pocket Passer" mode.

2. Returned gains on our Investments.

The past two weeks, we've seen Quentin Groves and Derrick Harvey bring sustained pressure and even get a sack. I think it comes back to staying with the 4-3. Groves is certainly a undersized DE, or a tweener as Vic calls it. He needs help and I'd like to see how we does in tandem with a 2 man blitz on his side. Divert and Disrupt would be a defensive scheme to help him, and it is operates by its name: Divert attention from the OT by using a 2 man blitz on the outside, and possibly have Groves go and sweep inside. Just a thought. Harvey should be fine as he solidifies at his position and surrounding team mates.

3. David Garrard's Successor

We really do need a QB, maybe not in the first but definitely in the third, barring trade or FA pickup. He's getting older, which is good enough a reason to draft a QB, but he's on the aftermath of his 2007 peak.

4. Interior Line

Vince and Brad, sorry but you are the weakest links,

It's going to be real hard for these old vets to stay after seeing other players get brutally cut for not "fitting the plan". Whether we draft or pickup new, younger guys, I don't care, I just know what else is on the shopping list.

5. Remaining Schedule

This was going through my mind while watching down from my seat to the car, we go against 3 more teams: The Colts, The Patroits, and the Browns. We are almost 100% sure to beat Cleveland, its the two games before that determine our fate. My prediction is if we win Thursday against the Colts, we'll win out. The Patroits are slowly imploding with several players bickering internally. Tom Brady who usually kicks our butts, isn't the same as he used to be. I feel confident about this.

Well as most of you know, the Jaguars, which i root for, have a QB need. I'm trying to find some guys, under the radar, who can get picked in the 3rd, 4th, etc and might be steals. I've looked and I've found a couple that I personally like. If you could provide some analysis or where they should get picked for any or all of them, it'd be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to say any positives or negatives. Thanks!
