If this don't piss you off, nothing will. Check out this quote by David Ortiz during a radio interview.

The Red Sox made the playoffs but eventually lost to the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League Championship Series. Would they have won it all with Ramirez?

"Probably," Ortiz said. "I'm not going to lie to you, probably."

Since I lost on the "lottery" to get tickets, I hope that Rays Fans everywhere buy up the tickets that are being sold on StubHub, Ebay, and where ever else tickets scalpers swallowed up the ALCS tix. In this economy I can't afford to pay the unrealistc prices that people are asking for tickets. However, I will be PISSED if there are alot of RedSox Fans throughout our stadium when we play on Friday. Time will tell. I just know that anyone can buy tickets off of these sites (the only advantage is that as of this post, the Angels/Sox were still playing which gives our fans more time to buy) I did get a chance to go to ALDS games, so I guess not all was lost.

On a lighter note, this IS the time of my life. Seriously, next to being married and the birth of my kids, this is the best experience I have ever had. And I have seen the Lightning and Bucs win titles.

GO RAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least they just own the team and delegate responsibility and then they disappear. As an NFL fan, watching Al Davis screw up the Oakland Raiders organization is just plain painful. If you couldn't stand Lane Kiffin, I can understand that, but remember who hired him. RaiderNation must want to drive Davis to the bridge and help push him off. Here is a list of the coaches that have coached for the Oakland/LA Raiders since Mike Shanahan was fired back in 1989 (Davis didn't want to pay him either):

Art Shell (1989-1994) 28-16

Mike White (1995-1996) 15-17

Joe Bugal (1997) 4-12

Jon Gruden (1998-2001) 30-18

Bill Callahan (2002-2003) 15-15

Norv Turner (2004-2005) 9-23

Art Shell (2006) 2-14

Lane Kiffin (2007-2008) 5-15

Tom Cable (2008- present)

Say what you want about Jon Gruden, but he did bring you to the cusp of a SB win and made the playoffs every year as a coach of the Oakland organization. Shell did well in his 1st go round that included 3 playoff appearances as well (90, 91, and 93). However, collectively as a group, if you take away the Gruden years the Raiders have gone through a total of 9 coaches with a combined record of 78-112. OUCH. Not since the 70's and mid 80's have RaiderNation been the powerhouse of the NFL.So whatever Al Davis is doing, it obviously isn't working. Ever think that it's not the coaches? I know Al is an orginal Raider from the AFL days and was even a coach. But if there was ever a time, RaiderNation as a whole needs to take a stand and tell Mr. Davis that it is time to sell the team. Don't worry, I hear he could still nab a job from that one show.....Tales From The Crypt.

Dre Moore, Clifton Smith, Micheal Spurlock amoung Practice Squad signees

The regular eight-man practice squad includes six players who were with the Buccaneers throughout this summer's training camp: wide receiver Brian Clark, tight end Daniel Fells, cornerback Marcus Hamilton, defensive tackle Dre Moore, running back Clifton Smith and wide receiver Micheal Spurlock. The other two spots went to cornerback Brandon Sumrall, a rookie just cut by the Minnesota Vikings, and offensive lineman Julius Wilson, most recently of the St. Louis Rams.

I am just estatic that the Bucs will be able to continue to develope Dre Moore as it would have been disappointing for him to sign elsewhere. Clifton Smith made a huge splash this preseason and I know many are happy to see him sign. How can we forget Micheal Spurlock? Include both Clark and Hamilton and this makes for a great looking practice squad and one that most should be familiar with the players who are on it. Of course as the season progresses, this group will surely change but for now I am happy with the group that we have.

A little bit of a suprise since Wilson was one of the few moves made in this less than splashy off season. Goes to show how much faith they have in undrafted free agent CB Elbert Mack. I personally don't see how this guy went undrafted because after watching his play in the preseason I am definitely sold. To fill Wilson's spot, the Bucs claimed OG James Gee from the Browns. The Bucs were especially vulnerable going into the season on OL with Davin Joseph out. They only had 7 lineman on their 53 man roster before signing Lee.

Check this link regarding Bucs trading DE Douglas to Ravens: Click Here I wasn't really thrilled with the signing in the first place. The picks appear to be low/conditional picks and aren't known at this time Good thing is that we don't take a cap hit and 2.6 million will be added to the cap this year (Douglas signed a 4 year/10 million dollar deal in the off season).

Also, what about Chris Simms rumors? Anyone have any? How about this link talking about the injury to Kyle Boller? Check this out: Click here. Doesn't mrention anything about Simms, but Ravens and Falcons are high on my list of teams for Simms to be traded to.

Check out this link on reserve S Donte Nicholson who was arrested at a downtown St. Pete club over the weekend...http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3499488. Hopefully upper management will can his ass. He hasn't contributed much since being drafted back in 2005 anyways. In other news, I wonder why the Bucs didfn't make a move on Jeremey Shockey? I was reminded why after watching Nicholson get arrested! We don't need this kinda crap here!

The next idiot who mentions David Price in any trade needs to bend over so I can give them a swift kick. The man is untouchable. I have never used that term for ANY Ray in the history of the franchise. However, there is no doubt in my mind that Price is going to be a stud for years. I actually hope that DRO signs him to a long term deal like they did Longoria and Shields. Barring injury, this guy is going to ensure our pitching staff is strong for a long, long time. Imagine Kazmir, Shields, Price, Garza, Sonny/Ejax. WOW. I have seen several blogs talking about us trading Price (especially to Colorado) and I just want to nip this one in the bud now, NO WAY NO HOW!!! I know one man isn't above the oranization (see Brett Favre saga) but in this case, Price is. At least right here, right now....he is the man.

His name is Alex Cobb. He is a Class A stud for the Columbus Catfish. Cobb was drafted in the 3rd round out of HS in the 2006 dfraft. He is 6-3 and is posting a 2.13 ERA in 63 IP. Here is a paragraph from the Columbus website:

Pitcher Alex Cobb came in billed as one of Tampa Bay's top prospects and he has not disappointed, posting a 6-3 record with a 2.13 ERA and 45 strikeouts in 63 innings. The 6 wins is a career-high for Cobb and he has held opposing hitters to a .211 batting average and sports a superb 1.03 WHIP. Cobb features a low 90's fastball and a splitter, but it is his innate feel for his curveball that sets him apart from other pitchers. Cobb's curveball is an 11-5 breaker that he can throw for a strike when behind in the count or bury in the dirt when ahead in the count to get strikeouts and weak groundballs. Cobb came to Columbus from Hudson Valley, where he was named the Hudson Valley Pitcher of the Year after leading the Renegades in innings pitched, starts and strikeout

I know he isn't going to be up for a couple years because of the unbelievable wealth of prospects that we have and also because this youngster needs to gain some experience, but I believe this guy has the stuff to be a frontline starter.
