Gregg Williams to become St Louis Rams DC

Wonderful news for us, since Williams is a terrible overrated coordinator, and very easy to scheme against. Worst is they're also looking to add terrible OC Brian Schottenheimer. That's some staff they're collecting.

NFL Discourse: The Rational, The Emotional, The Tim Tebow

Discussing the rational and emotional discourse in the NFL, and the way Tim Tebow puts them in stark contrast.

Raiders fire Hue Jackson

Hey, remember when we got Tom Cable and the Raiders fans were saying their team's offensive output was all on Hue, and Cable was basically worthless? Yeah.

Cortez Kennedy once again Hall of Fame finalist

For the fourth consecutive year, one of seventeen finalists. It seems fairly inevitable he'll make it in, let's hope this year is the year.

Earl Thomas named 2nd-team All Pro

The AP All-Pro is a more meaningful honor than the pro bowl in my opinion, thanks to not allowing fan voting and listing significantly fewer players. Anyway, Earl Thomas picks up the spot Nick Collins has held for three years running in the second team, tied with Ed Reed. Polamalu and Weddle are the first-team safeties.

Seahawks sign DE Pierre Allen, LB/RB Allen Bradford, CB Coye Francies, DE John Graves, DB Jesse Hoffman, TE John Nalbone and OG Brent Osborne to futures contacts.

Procedural matters to lift practice squad into the offseason. In other offseason news: WR Sidney Rice is getting shoulder surgery (3-4 month recovery), CB Richard Sherman a knee scope.

Marshawn Lynch & Red Bryant on Hitting the FA Market

Marshawn Lynch & Red Bryant on Hitting the FA Market, Or How Much Do Players Love Being in Seattle

Adrian Moten fined $7500 for late hit

This was the special teams late hit that left 49ers player Kyle Williams with a concussion. Michael Robinson was flagged for the play on the field, but both players arrived at around the same time. Not sure why the fine went this way. Additionally, Marshawn Lynch was fined $10000 for his skittle shoes (second uniform violation). Also, Richard Sherman was fined $15000 for a horse collar tackle.

Earl Thomas Named Pro Bowl Starter, Five Seahawks Named Alternates

Earl Thomas Named Pro Bowl Starter, Five Seahawks Named Alternates

Earl Thomas in the Pro Bowl, Seahawks Provide Five Alternates

Earl is the only starter, with the following listed as alternates: cornerback Brandon Browner, safety Kam Chancellor and fullback Michael Robinson are first alternates, running back Marshawn Lynch is a second alternate and punter Jon Ryan is a third alternate.

Random (Tebow!) thought

You know whose ass this defense would kick? Tim Tebow's ass. If you've noticed from the Patriots game, especially the second half, Tim Tebow absolutely blows chunks against tight man coverage since...

The Impressive Play of the Seattle Seahawks Wide Receivers

Looking at the outstanding play of the Seahawks receiving corps, especially its depth.

Seahawks hottest team by DVOA

"[In] terms of the difference between total DVOA and Weighted DVOA". The Seahawks rank 17th by total DVOA, but 11th by weighted DVOA, which gives a more accurate picture of where the team is now. Seattle has averaged a very high 59.0% in wins over Philadelphia, St. Louis, and Chicago. Over the season, the offense is ranked 23rd, defense 9th and special teams 12th.

The 7-7 Seahawks and the Hot Team Narrative

The Seahawks have gone 5-1 in the past six weeks, which is leading to undue amounts of praise and hype.

Pittsburgh Steelers at San Francisco 49ers - MNF Open Thread

Two pretty good teams, both playing smashmouth-type football. I can't remember the last time we had a half-decent game in for Monday night. Enjoy!

The Seahawks Offensive Line and Context Sensitive Analysis

A bleak future is the forecast in this piece on the Seahawks offensive line.

Mike Williams and the See-It-Throw-It Quarterback

An editorial on why Mike Williams is having a terrible year, and the limitations of his game as a wide receiver.

Doug Baldwin Named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week

Apropos, I saw a remark recently on restructuring Baldwin's contract. We can't. New CBA means you can't restructure/extend UDFAs until after their 2nd regular season (3rd regular season for drafted players). Keep the rules in mind! Baldwin will be playing for peanuts for at least one more year.

Kam Chancellor is Really Good, but Earl Thomas is Better

This is not meant as a criticism on Kam Chancellor. In context, as a second-year player first-year starter, he's playing at an extremely high level. We all know that. This story's here to remind us he's no Earl Thomas.

Russell Okung Injury is the Biggest Loss of This Season

Russell Okung's injury is the biggest loss the Seahawks offense has suffered this season.

David Hawthorne named NFC Defensive Player of the Week

Following his 77-yard pick six. Nice one David. As a bonus, here is Greg Cosell's note on the play: § Hawthorne 75 yd interception return TD should never have happened, Young had Cooper wide open on the curl route on the same side and a totally clean pocket – Only Young can tell you why he didn’t throw it to Cooper

Trent Cole fined $7500 for ending Okung's season

Now there's a mild slap on the wrists if I ever seen one.

Jaguars fire Del Rio, get sold, extend GM Gene Smith

They're not likely to move tho I'd rather have the LA Jags in our division than the St L Rams. Shahid Khan is buying. Also, Gene Smith being extended is good news for Hawks fans: it makes it less likely they'll look to replace Gabbert.

Seahawks place LB David Vobora on IR, claim LB Adrian Moten off waivers from the Colts

Per Curtis Crabtree

Seahawks Drop the Ball in Fourth Quarter, Lose to Redskins 23-17

Recapping a game between two bad teams, the Washington Redskins and Seattle Seahawks, won by the Redskins

The Seahawks & The Risk of Not Taking Risks

You can only sit on the quarterback position for so long. Not taking risks leads to good results at first glance, but it's no way to build a franchise.

Tarvaris Jackson, Accurate Passer

Tarvaris Jackson's game has major flaws, but when the flow and protection are right, timing and accuracy are not a problem.

RT James Carpenter suffered an unspecified injury in practice

Will have an MRI tonight, update on his status tomorrow.

The Worrying Lack of Seahawks Pass Rush

The Seahawks have not been effective at getting to the quarterback, probably this team's biggest concern.

Encapsulating a Model Seahawks Win

This Seahawks win exemplified that Pete Carroll's rebuild plan is slowly but surely coming together.
