Jeremy Ross to New England, Donovan Edwards to San Francisco, Darian Hagan to Cleveland, Derrick Hill to Oakland, Bryant Nnabuife to Arizona
One of my favorites... confirmed via Twitter:
Also, Donovan Edwards is on his way to the 49ers.
UPDATE: Darian Hagan has a deal with the Browns according to his Twitter account. Official reports say Texans, but Hagan says that he is instead heading to Cleveland.
UPDATE 2: Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee tweets that Derrick Hill is on his way to the Ravens.
UPDATE 3: Bryant Nnabuife tweets he's headed to the Arizona Cardinals.
UPDATE 4: Contrary to earlier reports, the Raiders' twitter announces that Hill signed with the Silver and Black .

Because nothing would ease the pain more than Jahvid Best putting up two hundy and destroying the Vikings... Well, almost nothing.
And here's a poem so that I meet the 75-word quota.
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?

CGB FANTASY BASEBALL WEEKLY CHATTER (2)
I'm swamped right now, so I can't post the normal amount of updates I plan on doing later in the season. For now, I'll leave you guys with the total stats of each team for some comparison purposes:

CGB FANTASY BASEBALL WEEKLY CHATTER (1)
Future Hall of Famer or Madonna Drag Queen Look-Alike?
Right now, I'm lamenting the fact that my quartet of Johan Santana, Josh Johnson, Joba Chamberlain and Aaron Harang is having the single most dominant day that a foursome of SPs will have this season... (as of this writing: 23 IP, 29K, 0.00ERA, 0.38 WHIP, ~4QS)...only to see it wasted during Week 1 when the scores don't count. Oh well. My opponent in Week 2, that rascal Maharg, should count his lucky stars.
To keep interest up in this league, I've decided to run a weekly post in which you can talk smack about carp's horrible pitching staff, post trade requests/trading block advertisements, brag about the day you're having, predict outcomes of matchups, etc. Anything and everything about our CGB Fantasy Baseball League. (We'll keep it out of the DBD to maintain tidiness)
Over the course of the season, I may do some handicapping at the beginning of each week (ex. Team BakBak will emasculate overmatched Team FAH Q -- NO U-- 12-2 in a battle of Length and Athleticism vs. Bill Nye Wannabes).
In a battle of heavyweights this week, my Team Bye Week looks to outduel the Fighting Mahargs, most likely owned by communiss hippie Maharg. He has a formidable 'pen which he'll be interchanging daily, but I've already made a couple waiver wire additions to counteract his RP whoring. I'm still angry over the dominance I'll be leaving off the board from this Sunday, mainly because they'll all suck this week when they pitch again. If the bats of the incredibly hot Eva Longoria, Adam Lind, Alex Rios and Brian Roberts can continue, I see a tight battle to the finish. I only see Maharg dominating Saves at this point, but I may do the same with Steals.
Here are this weeks Matchups:
The Fighting Mahargs vs. Bye Week
FAH Q vs. BakBak
Rag's Doom vs.Hydro Jr.
NorcalDick vs. RollOnYouBears2000/3
Fire the Starkey vs. Random zoonews Blazed Name, Brah
Chevy Movie Theater vs. The Zito Club
Balk This Way vs. Dumped By Ur Dance Team
Good luck to all... And Rec the poop outta this post, so we can keep on the sidebar the entire week!

SHOUT OUT: NEWPORT HARBOR OLB/WR/TE CECIL WHITESIDE COMMITS TO CAL
Here's his Rivals Profile
As you can see, they've rated him as the No. 91 overall prospect in the country. He's a true athlete and has shown an ability to rush the passer, drop back in coverage, block punts, and even deflect passes at the LoS. Even more, he's dominated one of toughest leagues in SoCal as a rising 4-year starter. As football guys like to say, "HE'S A PLAYMAKER." And, he's got a ton of power.
He could bring his considerable talents to Cal Track & Field as well. He is an elite Discus thrower (No. 3 in the nation IN HIS JUNIOR YEAR). He also works with Tony Gonzalez's former coach, who said he could be one of the best prospects ever!
Addition: http://www.milesplit.us/rankings/2009/outdoor/hs/m/D Here's his discus ranking... He's 3rd in the class of 2010 rankings
Quotes from ESPNU Recruiting:
"When I think about Cal, it's just a school I'm very comfortable with and I know I'll be happy there the next four or five years. I went to their Junior Day and really liked it there and it's just a great fit for me."
However, it does not appear that Whiteside's recruitment is finalized, "I still might take my visits in the fall. Cal has really high academic requirements so I might do visits just as a backup. Arizona, Colorado, Arizona State and USC are a few other schools I'm looking at but Cal is definitely my first choice and where I want to be."
You guys know me: I get pumped about recruits. To be honest, I can't think of many more prospects in the nation I'd get more excited about. I MEAN, HE'S HUMBLE TO BOOT. He and Jay Guy will be stars for the Bears in the very near future.
SSDE Cassius Marsh has announced his top 3: Cal, $c, and fUcla. He plans to make a decision before his season starts.
He said his visit to Cal for GameDay Saturday was "amazing."
fUcla HCRN, in true fUcla-plastic fashion, gave Cassius and his squad a tour of the campus. HCRN wore a #71 jersey, Cassius' number. Of course, this would've been a recruiting violation if he had given it to Cassius to wear.
$c has not yet released a concrete dollar figure for his future salary, if he were to sign with South Central.
Gabe King mentioned us first in an interview yesterday and has stated that he will be at our full-pad camp. He seems EXACTLY like the player we covet-- speedy, athletic, smart (wants to be an engineer), humble, and motivated academically.
He will be one of the top DEs in the country... just look at that offers list. We have a very good shot at him because he's said distance is not a factor. He just wants to find his best fit. All hail Tosh!
Cameron Morrah Looking Good, Athletic at Combine
- 6'3.375", 244 -- expected
- 4.66 official forty (3rd) but looked like the 2nd fastest guy on the simulcast of the runs -- faster than expected
- Looked fluid in running and had good (better than expected) upper-body size -- showed with 24 reps (4th)... more than a lot of the elite blockers in this class, including Pettigrew, Oher, and Monroe
- Legs and ass definitely on the thin side
- Definite power and pop on his blocks -- I've felt that he was a lot better blocker than everyone was saying. I saw that as a bandwagon opinion that people echoed to sound smart about football... Still room for improvement though as it doesn't look natural Edit:Todd McShay agrees with me... Uses quick first step to beat defenders to the spot. Plays with a wide base, stays low and can root defenders off the ball. Takes sound angles to downfield assignments and generally does a nice job of covering up linebackers at the second level... Tenacious and does a tremendous job of finishing blocks. Appears fearless when working the middle of the field.
- Only saw one of his Gauntlet runs... one drop, not too smooth, didn't stand out as good or bad
- Looks like he was well-prepared and well-coached
- After what I saw, I fully expect him to be drafted. I believe he was borderline before, mainly because he was off the radars of a lot of teams. Once they pop in the tape of him against SC and MSU, they'll see he can get open anywhere on the field against any coverage and can move the chains
Top Performer in:
40-yard dash | Bench press | 3-cone drill | 20-yard shuttle

SHOUT OUT TO JAY GUY! Our first official commit for the class of 2010, Jay's a SAVAGE NT out of Eisenhower HS in Aldine, TX. He is the prototypical 0-technique NT for out 3-4 defense, and he can enroll in school for the spring semester! Welcome to the family!
This site has Jay as the #14 overall recruit in Texas. VERY HIGH GRADE.
RECRUITING Q&A FORUM: Introducing Our Offensive Commitments
I've been promising you guys a huge post about our most recent recruits. Trust me... it was so humongous I felt like I'm the one who just crashed SBN.
Well, more than 8 hours of hot-linking, picture-finding, projections, tidbits, and film study just vanished right off my FanPost.
I'm pretty devastated right now. I have an injury that prevents me from doing a lot of activities, and I've had to type this all out with one hand while lying in bed.
So, right now, I'm asking for CGB's forgiveness by doing this:
If you leave any question (personal stories, style of play, fit on the team, etc.) about any offensive recruit, I will happily answer them to the best of my knowledge as soon as I return to my computer. I'm going to take a break for a little bit as my injury is really flaring up right now, and I need to rest.
So, in the comments, feel free to ask any question you may have about our offensive guys, and you shall be answered with as lengthy a response as I can muster.

DBD 1.28.09 Anticipating danzig's Next Highlight Tape
Like most all loyal CGB readers, I can't get enough of danzig and his valuable contributions to this blog. I wonder what will be next... Norris Malele Stretching Technique HLs or maybe even some footage of Anthony Felder's senior year weight room pranks! ...HAHA! That's not shaving cream, Georgio!
I did not see him around here at all yesterday, so I figured that such an elite financial analyst was busy saving the world through his participation in various NYC think tanks, brain trusts, and futurology meetings. So, logic(k)ally, to keep his coworkers appraised of his every thought or inclination, he'd update his twitter string early and often. Check it out:
------
Woke up. Flag's at full mast. @ 8:18am
Kicked Nikki out of bed. @ 8:43am
Kicked Jayden out of bed. @ 8:49am
Finally got Stacy and Candi to leave. Mental Note: Bard sluts are nuts. Next Friday... healthy NYU chickens @ 8:56am
Just ordered Rosalita to fix me my morning Goulash. She better not forget the fuckin' ketchup... Plenty of other Ricans right down the street work for food only! Comprende? @ 9:12am

Headed to bed, but I need my nightcap. Rosalita... JAEGERBOMBS! PRONTO! @ 1:11am
I never realized danzig was the star of this video!
Or that this youtube skit could be referenced yet another time!
(For the video starring TwistNHook, click here and here)
-------
As you can see, I discovered the contents of our next HL video. I also unearthed the key to fixing the economy and restoring hope and luxury to 'merica. All of these things "maybe" depend on our dominance of the Pac-10 next year! Or, at the very least, 10 wins for Cal and an undefeated USC team! All of these things make the 'zig happy.

ATTENTION ADDICTED TO QUACK: MACK SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER THAN UNGER
The only guy who was able to handle Raji was Cal center Alex Mack, who was easily the best offensive linemen on the North squad and who was considerably better than Oregon's Max Unger, whom many publications have rated higher than Mack.
