De Colo's Power Electronics Valencia dominated Alba Berlin 44-67 with record-setting defense to win the title and return to the Euroleague next season. Valencia shaved more than 10 points off the title-game record for defense after holding Alba to 22 points in each half. Valencia, the competition's first champ in 2003, also earned a place in the Euroleague for next season. "I think we played almost a perfect defensive game," Valencia coach Neven Spahija said on court. "We have shown here that we can win with defense or with offense!"

De Colo established himself this season as one of the top young guards in the game, leading Valencia in both scoring (13.6 ppg., 15th in the Eurocup) and assists (2.6 apg.) in his first season with the club and in the competition. His 85.4% from the free-throw line was 12th best in the Eurocup. A fierce competitor, De Colo put his enormous talent to work in ensuring Valencia a Eurocup Finals trip.
