OK OK--I know
Shut up already about the UCLA win at Vanderbilt--not like the football team is doing that good or anything--as evidenced by the beating they took from Utah. (What? UTAH???)
But I, being the camcorder dork that I am, compiled a mini-video from Vanderbilt that I uploaded onto Youtube.com... (My social life points are going down by the second)... I thought the team was going to throw the camcorder in the water hazard on 18 by the end of the week...I definitely wore their patience thin.
Anyways, have a looksie--if you have time...

FINALLY!
The end to a year and a half long winless drought!
Not to toot my own Bruin horn, but while Amanda Blumenherst ran away with the individual title, the UCLA women's golf team ran away with the team title.
Not that I've been keeping track, but it's been approximately 16 months and 21 days since our last win.
That is all, you may now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Sarah-ndipity
So, the other day, I'm just real quick chillin' at this range at home on the putting green...and some Korean chick comes up and wants to have a putting competition for an ice cream...Needless to say, after 36 holes, I owed her 3 ice cream bars (darn automatic presses!)
Later on, we get around to talking and I find out that she's from Australia, and is in the states for a while to get ready for Q school first stage in Palm Springs...Anyways, I came home and did a little (stalkerish) research online, figuring that she was probably on SeoulSisters.com...turns out she's none other than Sarah Oh, a top-ranked amateur in Australia. Coolio. Just thought that was pretty cool. T-Joh OUT!

I write this via Wi-Fi connection at the airport...
Today was a pretty good day, aside from a few blemishes like 3-putting the last hole, and getting a tummyache from too much free apple pie at lunch ... no complaints.
I would say the highlight was watching my good friend In-Bee Park scurry up the leaderboard en route to an 8-under 64, and being reunited with my partner in crime, Jane Park.
All in all, the week was a blast. I never got to go up to Christina Kim and tell her what a big fan I am (I chickened out when I saw her putting on the practice green), but hopefully I will have another opportunity to tell her about my secret life in which I silently semi-stalk her in. =P
Anyways, thanks for reading, (yep all three of you!) For the final time out of Portland, Oregon ... T-Joh--OUT!

Highlights
- Getting props on the putting green from Cristie Kerr for the blog =)
- Bouncing back from a double bogey after leaving it in the bunker with a chili-dipped bunker shot
- Mongolian grill down the street for dinner (this isn't really relevant, but it was really good)
- Wearing my trucker hat that says "The T.Joh" on it in graffiti letters
- Watching Lorena on the scoreboard go deeper, and deeper, and deeper...
- Spending time with Angela Park whom I haven't spent 18 holes since we flipped a golf cart in Florida.
In the words of Lorena, Maria Jo, and any other Spanish speaking person: "Hasta Luego!"
TJoh-Out!

Another day, another dollar...
LOST!
I definitely lost two dinners to In-Bee Park and Angela Park in a putting contest. Apparently they won't accept PB&J sandwiches a la T.Joh from the locker room, or 99 cent tacos.
On another note, I'm ridiculously relieved that the date with the Wie circus is over, as much as I enjoyed camera clicks, people walking to the next tee while trying to tap in my par putt, and contorting my body out of the way so people could get a better view of the Wie-zer ...
Actually, the majority of the people were really awesome, clapping even when I'd toe-shank a shot that managed to stay on the green.
Kim Hall, who graduated from Stanford, was a true sweetheart and she gave loads of advice to Michelle, on where the good dining halls are, the clean showers, etc.
I tried to contribute my penny's worth - machine washing ALL laundry cold so you don't have to bother with sorting.
Although the round started pretty solid with a birdie and 9 straight pars, my round was derailed by a double bogey from the middle of the fairway with a gap wedge. I never quite recovered, but I figured while people are elbowing their way through the crowd to get a good view of Michelle Wie, I had front row seats!
I'm outside the cutline, but hopefully I'll be able to write some good news tomorrow.
T.Joh - OUT!
(Note: Tiffany tees off at 2 p.m. Portland time on Saturday, playing with Angela Park and Meaghan Francella. -- Stu)

Guess what!
I talked to Juli Inkster today...it was pretty amazing, she accidently took my spot on the range, but I totally didn't care.
I also saw Natalie Gulbis for the first time this week...yes, she's really hot in person as well.
Oh yea, and by the way, I'm playing with the Wiesy, but no worries, I'm hoping to win her over with my "T-Joh Charm." =P(stop laughing, I'm serious!)
Peace easy!

Day 2 at the Safeway
This may be the last post for a few days, the amount they charge for a few minutes on the internet these days! Sheesh! Anyways, cool things that happened today:
- Played a practice round with Cristie Kerr and Meaghan Francella for nine holes, then played with Jamie Hullet for the last nine. All three of them were uber nice.
- Was so awestruck by Nancy Lopez in the locker room that I walked into a door while staring at her.
- Was so stoked about the pure putting green that I stayed on there for more than I should've and now my left hand is permanently in a Jim Carrey style claw mold.
- Saw Lorena Ochoa out for a run while driving back to the hotel.
- Saw Lorena Ochoa hitting balls on the range.
- Saw Lorena Ochoa.
- Ate a delicious white chocolate chip Macadamia nut cookie...it really was delicious.

My apologies
for the long posting doldrum...
This week, I'm in the field at the Safeway Classic in Oregon. Today was the second practice round...highlights from the last two days:
1. Getting tackled on the green from behind by Jane Park, who I haven't seen in 8 months
2. Seeing Pat Hurst walking across the putting green
3. Putting on the same practice green as Cristie Kerr, who appeared to be experimenting with several different models of putters...like she really needs to change her putting...
4. Hospitality tents are AMAZING! I think I ate about 37 granola bars and I'm not gonna lie, I smuggled a large bag of honey mustard pretzels into my golf bag, which I'm pretty sure was just for display.
5. Seeing Wiesy walk onto the grounds with her entourage and staring shamelessly with my mouth agape. (She's waaay taller in person)
6. The sandwich table in the locker room...yes, I smuggled a couple PB&Js as well...
7. Walking clueless around the parking lot trying oh-so-hard not to look like a complete fish out of water, but serendipitously parking next to a former UCLA bruin who helped me find my way to registration.
I'll try to update as much as I can. Wish me love!

Yes, yes, I know...
It's been too long...but it's been a busy month--Colombia, midterms, finals, and the Women's amateur looming menacingly on the horizon of my near future.
The only thing getting me through this tornado of a Thursday is the live scoring updates from the US Girls Junior.
Of those still in it, I'd have to think that Kim Kim, Stephanie Kono, and Mina Harigae are favorites--although, as I write this, Mina is all square through 16 with Ayaka Kaneko.
USGirlsJunior.org
Everyone should check it out...if not for the scoring updates, at least for the storylines...sometimes there's some interesting stuff there. I once wrote on the media sheet that I had an underground career as a teddy bear wrangler.
