My Bad...
What I MEANT to say is that the 'Eaters will take the first one and the Tigers will win the last two.
Holy Crap, what a game! Louis Coleman is da man! And it was nice to see the Pontiff name on the bases during that rally - good times, good times...
It'll be interesting to watch tomorrow's pitching duel. So far, although UCI's pitching is very good, I think LSU hitting has proven to be up to the task. And LSU's Bullpen may be the key tomorrow. Should be fun!

Prediction: LSU 5, UCI 4
The Eaters are probably the toughest test for the Tigers so far this year. I don't see LSU getting double digit hits in this first one. Gorgen appears to be the real deal - I doubt he gives up more than 4 hits or so. However, LSU will put at least one out of the park. Likely that will happen with runners. Likely it will happen in late innings as Gorgen tires or relief pitchers are on the mound.
I can see LSU trailing by one in this one until the 7th or 8th. Then a two run homer seals the deal.
Or, you know, something like that.
Eaters take the second game. Tigers win on Monday.

Fantastic article from Ann Arbor
Go here and read this. Fantastic. Here's a teaser quote:
"It was a great game.
A great game.
There is some hate in Ann Arbor today, some absolutely-no-perspective hate. There are message boards and radio shows filled with people vilifying the Michigan football team, and especially its coach, for losing a game they believe it shouldn't lose if it was played 1,000 times.
It's a bad thing, and a sad thing, mostly because college football is a better game for Appalachian State having done what everyone considered impossible.
The Mountaineers out-coached, out-executed and especially out-ran Michigan, winning not because Michigan didn't show up, but because together the Mountaineers played perhaps the best football they will ever play.
Anything less and they would have lost."

MSU Defense
I wonder if, because Henig sucked so bad and Croom's play calling seemed so silly, MSU's defense isn't getting as much credit as it deserves. Lots of folks - myself included - are bagging on the LSU offense, and the line in particular. It will be interesting to see how the Dawg Defense does all season long. Maybe - just maybe - they are better than even some have said. I know I was surprised to see Flynn under pressure so often in a game this lopsided.
Just a thought.
