Pounding The Rock Timmeh 2nd Team All-Defense

Tim made the 2nd Team All Defense as a center. I find it interesting that he can start in the All-Star game as a forward and then win an end of the season award as a center. Versatility! He's now been All Defense every season of his career (1st 8 times, 2nd 5 times). His resume is downright orgasmic. If he can add another All NBA to the list (i'm hopeful he'll get 2nd or 3rd team) he will have been All NBA and All Defense 13 times in his 13 year career.

Pounding The Rock Manu's New Deal

I never post on here, but I felt compelled to put this up because I've been so surprised at the mixed reaction in PTRers' comments to Manu and the Spurs getting his new deal done. In my opinion, the amount of money does not matter one bit. We are Spurs fans. We are here for one thing and one thing only, and that is championships. If we have learned anything over the last couple of years, that doesn't happen without #20 in Black and Silver. I have no worries about the Spurs ponying up $40 mil over 3 years. I have no doubt New York or someone else would have offered something $50 mil or more and stolen him away from us. I jumped up out of my chair when I heard we had gotten a deal done because everything I had heard prior to that pointed to us having to sweat out his free agency TD style back when Orlando made a run at him. Is $13 mil going to be a lot to pay a 35 year old shooting guard? Maybe. But the Spurs chances of adding to the ring collection just got a whole lot better, and for this Spurs fan that is all that matters.

Pounding The Rock Friday: Euro 2008

Wow....what a save by Buffon. Can't say that Romania deserved to win the game on that pk (even though i despise the Italians) so i was glad to see Buffon with that miracle stop. From the hand to the foot! I can't remember ever seeing that.

As for the Dutch-France game...the Netherlands have just been too much fun to watch so far. The goal Van Nistelroy set up w/ the spin move and Schneider's goal were both things of beauty.

Great great day... perhaps the most exciting yet
