Poor Kobe...Nothing is going right over in LA so he decides it's best to single out a team as the worst in the league to make a point of their current play. Sportsmanship much?

That said, it stands now the Lakes look to be on the way out and the Heat seem to be everything that we thought they could be. If the Heat can put a game like this down against the Celtics then I'm gonna give up for the next 7 on hoping for a championship.

Who should be our 6th man?

Hey all!

I got into an interesting conversation last night with who should be our 6th man on this team. The two names we were split on was Martel Webster or Michael Beasley. We agree that it needs to be one of these two. Both are explosive, scorers who can take advantage of a suspect 2nd unit. To be completely honest I think they both will do well in this role.

My friend is of the belief that Michael Beasley should be first in off the bench, but his major point of reasoning is that Martel has been doing better this preseason that B-Easy. I do agree, but I also have not seen Martel start all that much and can somewhat say that B-Easy might be doing just as well in the role that Martel has been playing thus far. Is it the role that is making one seem better than the other?

Which leads me to my pick which is Martel as our 6th man. He has done great so far. Scoring, energy, defense and overall excellent performance. The main reason I make this choice has to do with acceptance of the roles. We saw how harmful it can be last year with putting someone in a 6th man role who doesn't accept it...Kevin Love. Martel you can see is happy with the chance to be more than a spot up shooter, and has brought his game to prove he can be even more. B-Easy thinks he is Melo...honestly I think he views himself in that light. Is it right to feed into egos? In the long run no, but in the short run I say yes. Give Michael the chance to completely show us what he can do. Let him get comfortable and let him fail or rise based on that.

Good Kahn vs. Bad Kahn

Now a year plus into Kahn's reign as GM I was wondering what you all think about the job he has done. I have seen some opinions good and bad posted lately, and thought it would be fun to have a good ol' Canis Hoopus Debate thread.

In my personal opinion his moves go as follows:

Good:

Aquiring the #5/Rubio pick in the 2009 Draft

Martell Webster Acquisition

Signing Darko, Tolliver and Pek for peanuts

Getting Beastly for nothing.

Hiring Ronzo and Rambis

Cap Space

Future Picks

I stumbled across this video of Spain Vs Lithuania highlighting Ricky Rubio. This kid when he comes, that is right WHEN, will completely run wild with this team in my opinion. The skill sets he needs for his Team Mates to have fall right in line with the type of player we have stacked our roster with. Give this team one year to grow and build chemistry then add Rubio, another lottery pick AND the ability to land a top player view trade or signing, and we have a scary team.

I have always been the high hopes guy for this Team and videos like this make me really excited for our future.

Just came out...looks like we are staying at #4. My only hope is that we are somehow going to get more than just #4 or we are gonna draft DMC and move him. I just fear the Johnson at #4 like most everyone, but I also feel that Kahn is smarter than me and knows a lot more than I do about what is going on in the draft.

When I read that Cousins won't workout with us It made me pretty upset. Since when is an undrafted rookie able to dictate such a thing? The role that managers are playing in the draft is starting to get rediculous, and honestly there should be rules set up to protect owners.

That said...I don't believe he won't workout with us because we are settled on Wes Johnson, but rather because he doesn't want to play here. What do you all think?

2010 NBA Draft: Consensus

I was tooling around the net for draft info when I came across a cool site that is compiling mock draft data. It appears that this page is updated as things change and will be cool to look at as the Draft approaches.

Here is the most important things I took away from it...

1) The #4 pick is the first pick with no sure pick in the eyes of the "media"

2) No way Turner falls to #4

There has been a lot theories running around here, and it's been hard to really keep track of what the consensus is for next season. So why not put a pole up?? I personally believe we will get Turner...not sure how, but it's what I feel will happen. I would love to hear what everyone else thinks.

So will we have a lead wolf next year when the season tips off. IF YES, WHO? IF NO, WHEN?

Optimistic Speculations of the future anyone?

Let me say one thing right away. I am a casual fan and don't know a lot about Basketball. Done.

That said, I wanted to get some smarter folks opinion on the future of this club provided 2 things happen:

1. We draft Evan Turner with the #2 pick.

2. Rubio comes over in 2011.

Given those two things what are we looking at for a future? Will we be good in 2011 or will it take longer? I hope that we will be good sooner rather than later and have a Oklahoma City thing going on, but what do you all think? If nothing else lets cheer this place up for a post!
