One Bronco Nation Under God Why are Boise State fans refered to as the "Bronco Nation?"

We've all heard Boise State fans being called "Bronco Nation."  Why not "Bronco FaithFul," "Bronco Boosters," or some other name.  There is a simple answer to this question.  Because, just like most Americans, we love our "nation" (Boise State).  We support our "nation" in every way we can.  We support our "troops" (athletes).  We might not be able to get into the trenches and fight the good fight, but we will show our support anyway we can (ex: buy war bonds, a.k.a. buy BSU stocks).

With this nickname bestowed upon us, we must not faulter.  We might not like the war our "troops" are fighting, but that doesn't mean we can stop supporting our "troops."

I really didn't/don't support the war in Iraq, but I still do my best to support our soldiers.  I don't care where our soldiers are in the world, just be safe and spread the good word about us. Also, I want them know that people back home care and support them.  If we "win" a war (and are nice/classy about winning), the world will like us more.  If we "lose" a war, the world will think less of us.  If we "draw," it all depends on how we fought.

I was just think how Boise looks a lot like the US.  We had a revolution (Fiesta Bowl).  War of 1812 (Poinsettia Bowl), we "lost" but gave a good fight (ok it's a stretch).  Let's hope we don't have a civil war next.

Okay, back on topic.  After seeing the Broncos are going to the Fiesta Bowl and playing TCU, I am torn.  I wish our "troops" could play someone else, but I have a duty to support my "nation and troops." no matter who they play. It's the right thing to do, since they have sacrificed so much to make all of our lives happier.  I support them when they play "lesser" teams during the year, why not during the bowl season (I don't mean TCU is "lesser" team, they are just not one of the "big boys")?

So tonight I call upon Bronco Nation to show their support.  I don't care if you boycott the game, just don't boycott our "troops."  If you see a "soldier" walking around, tell them thank you.  Tell them you are praying for them to return home safe (some hardware would be nice too. lol.).  If you have some free time, send them a postcard (by send, I mean give it to Crissie, she knows people).  Call the BroncoNation Podcast to give a shout out to our "troops." (we all know they listen to it).  Go to a different bowl game and show everyone how much you love our Broncos.  America might be in some bad times, but our "nation" is in some great times.

Good night.  And God bless the Broncos!!!
