Tom Dakers, long time baseball fan, been through the good and bad with the Jays (seems like mostly bad lately) and the Expos (still sad about them leaving). I've been running and writing for Bluebird Banter for 6 years now (time flies when you are having fun). I'm very proud of the growth of the site in that time.I also write for CBCSports.ca and occasionally you'll see my name in other spots.

Sometimes it seems like all I do is talk about baseball.

Blue Jays DFA Sergio Santos, Rob Rasmussen up

I don't think it is a huge surprise but then, the timing seems strange. Just three days ago the Jays sent Chad Jenkins down to Buffalo. I thought at the time that Sergio Santos had been so...

Blue Jays bang out 15 hits and 9 runs

Rangers 6 Blue Jays 9 Early in the season, Mark Buehrle was pitching great and we were scoring for him. Then we went through a period when he was pitching good and we couldn't score. Finally, we...

Jays win.It seems so long since I've said that.

Rangers 1 Blue Jays 4 The question on everyone's mind is 'Why didn't Casey Janssen pitch the 9th?" Apparently he is sick, he lost 7-8 pounds and has been on IV. Finally a win, it has been so...

J.P. Arencibia hits a 3-run homer, there is no God

Rangers 5 Jays 1 That was just awful. R.A. Dickey was great, through 6 innings, and really should have been pulled there. Then, in the 7th, he gave up 2 singles and an J.P. Arencibia home run....

Blue Jays send Chad Jenkins back to Buffalo, again

I'm starting to feel sorry for Chad Jenkins. The Blue Jays are sending him back to Buffalo, yet again, to make room for Brad Mills. I think I'd rather have Jenkins than Mills, personally, but...

It's Friday again and Friday means it is time to submit questions for this week's Around the Nest podcast. Our host. broadcaster for the Lansing Lugnuts, Jesse Goldberg-Strassler, talks to the...

View from the other side

The Blue Jays start off the post-All Star break section of the season playing the Texas Rangers. The Rangers are 38-57, last in the AL West (yes even trailing their fellow Texans, the Houston...

Blue Jays DFA Deck McGuire

Another one that surprises me, not that they shouldn't DFA Deck, but that they would. I figured that, since he was the Blue Jays first round pick in 2010, that they would go a little longer before...

Ken Rosenthal tells us: #BlueJays claim LHP Brad Mills. — Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) July 17, 2014 I'd guess it is to fill out the Bisons' starting rotation. I think the Blue Jays...

Open Thread for the Home Run Derby

The Home Run Derby is tonight, starting at 8:00 Eastern. I'll admit to not caring about at it. I can watch for 10 minutes, then I get tired of 'back, back, back, back' and start looking for...

Will Cabrera and Rasmus be back next year?

What do you think?

Bring on the All-Star break

Blue Jays 0 Rays 3 Not much to say about that, David Price was good, the Jays batters weren't. We managed 5 hits against Price, 8 plus innings, most of them of the bloop variety. 2 of the hits...

One bad inning costs the Jays

Blue Jays 3 Rays 10 It is one of those baseball truisms that winning teams most often score more runs in 1 inning than the other team scores in the game. That's one of the reasons I hate playing...
