The Player who Inspired Me to do Better
Tim Tebow is no longer a Denver Bronco.
Take a deep breath and let it sink deep into the skin.
I never thought I would feel this emotional from one players departure. In an era where players come and go faster than a tank of gas in a V10 truck I never thought one player would have such an impact on not only my life but many others in the world. My story is one of many but I needed to vent on this trade. Take this post as my closure in the Denver Broncos Tim Tebow era.
In the year of 2006 as a crazy young college kid going to Chico State University I like many out there wasn't a fan of Tim Tebow. Frankly I couldn't stand him. Mainly out of the media attention he was getting as a college kid a year older than me but more out of jealousy. Here was this athletic machine with talent and the looks that would make Brad Pitt say wow. He had everything I wanted. The great QB of a D1 school and the choice of any gorgeous women in Florida. What guy wouldn't want that? I know I did and I wasn't a fan of the kid.
When the team I bleed for the Denver Broncos drafted Tim I sorta jumped for joy out of pure shock. It was and awkward jump for joy and I still remember the moment and the feeling. I didn't know what to expect and nobody else did either. Then Tim got his chance to start after the McDaniels firing and that first series where he ran for a 40 yard TD and ran over a couple Raiders in the process. Right then and there my love for the kid began. Then in the same season the comeback victory against the Texans that gave a 3-11 team the best ending to the worst season of my Broncos fanhood. Little did we know Tebow Time was just beginning.
When Kyle Orton was awarded the starting job I was furious and so were many of my fellow Denver Broncos fans. We had seen what Kyle Orton had to offer and frankly we didn't like what we saw. Then the 1-3 start and I was just sitting there waiting for Tim to get his chance and finally he did almost bringing us back in the second half against the Chargers. What would happen after that no one would have expected. Its almost like a dream come true.
Tebow Time had begun. After the epic comeback against the Dolphins and the blowout loss to the Lions fans still were up in the air about Tebow. There was talk about Brady Quinn taking over in the second half against the Raiders if Tebow didn't improve. Then came the game in Oakland and the turning point of a 2-5 team with no hope what so ever of doing anything worth of note.
That game in Oakland would be a game I had the opportunity to attend thanks to my brothers roommates girlfriend. We sat at the 50 yard line of the nosebleeds with all the crazy ignorant drunk annoying Raider fans. But what else would I expect right? I will never t forget that game because not only was it the start of a 6 game win streak that would win the Broncos the AFC West or the fact they beat the team I hate most, But because it was and probably will be the only time I will ever see Tebow play live in a Broncos jersey. The Broncos won by a landslide and I will never forget that day. I will save the ticket til the day I die, even if it has a Raiders logo on it.
During that six game win streak and all the emotions and heart attacks that came with it. It was the most rewarding feeling I had ever had being a Broncos fan. See I was too young to really remember the way I felt for the back to back Super Bowls of Terrell Davis and Mr. Elway. Growing up in a family of Raiders fans its really hard to get them to even watch your games. But this special season I had the pleasure of watching games with my Grandfather whos the biggest Raiders fan I know. He as much as he probably hates the Broncos had became a believer and fan of Tebow. The Thursday night game in which Tebow had the game winning touchdown run my parents stayed up late just to watch the Tebow post game stuff. They would not have done this if it was any other player. That is the power of Tebow. It is something no one can explain. For all his mechanical flaws and the naysayers he captured a nation and probably the world in the year of 2011. Hate him or love him he is a figure that people cannot take there eyes off of.
In the games final moments against Pittsburgh in which the Broncos won in overtime I lost my mind. Frankly I blacked out. I had never gone that crazy for a sporting event. Last thing I remember was screaming at the top of my lungs taking off my Tebow jersey and running around my neighborhood making the neighbors think I was a out of my mind. It is a moment and feeling I will never forget.
Tim Tebow makes me want to better myself as a person. Become the man I was born to be. Never has someone inspired me to better myself like him. I envy him for this. He is a person that many disagree with especially his views on religion. Why I ask? We all have friends and family who take religion more serious than others so why does it matter with Tim? That I will never know. I am not a man big on faith but I am a Catholic. I don't want to bring religion into this but it is because of Tim that I have done something I never thought I could. Being a kid who parties and sucks down alcohol like water on the weekends I am currently not drinking for Lent. It has been tough but I am doing very well.
I bought a husky puppy in August and when I was thinking for names for him it became clear the only name to fit the pup should be Tebow. Even though you are no longer on my favorite team I am glad to have named my dog after you. Not just because of what you did for the Broncos in 2011 but for what you stand for and the person you are.
I will miss you Tim and I will be rooting for you in that ugly green Jets jersey or wherever you go. I hope you win a Super Bowl one day and frankly I think you will.
Thanks for one of the greatest seasons these two eyes have ever seen and Good Luck and God Bless on your new journey as a New York Jet. Thanks for being the player who inspired me to do better in my life. One thing is sure this Denver Broncos fan will miss you dearly.

TeeSlice Tales: The Civil War and An NFL World Divided
Well ladies and gentlemen the worst happen Sunday. The Broncos were blown out by the Detroit Lions 45-10 at Mile High. To make matters worst Tim Tebow played his second bad game. At what cost do we as fans have to witness this horror. This hurts bad. I feel a deep pain in me like the first time I had my heart broken a year ago. The world of the NFL is divided. The world of the Denver Broncos is divided. In my 23 years of living I have never seen anything quite as crazy as the "Tebow Thing". What does it take for a Quarterback to develop his game in peace as we see with youngsters Blaine Gabbart and Christian Ponder and even Colt McCoy. Unfortunately for Tebow that will never happen and it leaves the NFL world divided. His doubters want him to fail in a way I have never seen and us who stand beside him until the end are left angry and hurt by the hate towards the football worlds most polarizing figure. Today I write this in a sense of anger and sadness for the one man who I fear may never get the chance to succeed in the NFL.

Can someone who's tech savy make a video like this but with the song called "It's Our Fight" by Steve Jablonsky. I have no clue how to do this and need it for a school project. Also you won't be dissapointed by the song if you're a transformers fan
TeeSlice Tales: The Reason
Well Broncos Country that was sure hard to watch. The Super Bowl Champ Packers sure showed a thing or two on how to be a champion. Sitting there watching the game I found myself sadly not as angry as I was the past two losses. Maybe it was because I was extremely hungover or the fact that I sort of saw this coming. I'm going to go with hungover because I never expect the Broncos to lose, not now, not ever! This game sure left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I really thought we could hang with the Pack. We moved the ball fairly well and our D was doing good early but just couldnt quite hold Rogers and the Pack back forever. The offense needed to take the pressure off the D but sadly that is not what happen. So now I give you The Reason, the reasons why we are what we are, a 1-3 team through the first quarter of a long NFL season. Now jump with me, not off a cliff I know we all feel like we should right now, but with me on this piece.

TeeSlice Tales: The Return of the Jedi
First off let me introduce myself. I am Tommy or as my username states TommyTSlice. I have been a member of this site since the year of the 4 game collapse and the end of the Mike Shanahan era. Back in those days I looked to this site as an escape to the heart crushing losses. I was hooked on this site and loved the work of guys like TheSpotsGuru (John) and Zappa(Tim). I wrote pieces myself including one about how Cutler was maturing to becoming a true MVP (That sure went to opposite way, at least as a Bronco). But the last few seasons I haven't wrote much not because I lost my love for the Broncos that will never die, but because I was hurt with the way our beloved Broncos were going. But here I am back at it again and ready to write a post about the greatest sports team on planet earth. Follow me after the jump.

Pro Bowl Roster Announced
The NFL has released the Pro Bowl rosters today. Denver has 5 players going Brandon Marshall, Ryan Clady, Champ Bailey, Elvis Dumervil, and Brian Dawkins. This is Ryan Clady and Elvis Dumervils first pro bowl. I am very excited for them Elvis certainly deserves it. This is Brandon Marshalls Second straight pro bowl which means he is probably going to cost us more money. But quite frankly I think we have to keep him. Pay the man!!!! After watching Ayers have a good game in philly I think loosing Elvis would not hurt us that much. Anyways here is the link.
TSlice Tales: Average NFL Attendance, Denver in Top 5
While sitting at home on a boring Tuesday i decided to figure out the average NFL attendance for each team in the 2009 season so far. After doing it I realized someone out there probably already figured it out and I just wasted my time but its okay I was bored remember. Sure enough on ESPN.com there was one and not to my surprise Denver was in the top 5. Here is the link Average NFL Attendance 2009 Season .
via www.everyjoe.com
A couple things I want to point out.
1. Not all teams have played the same amount of home games thus far. Every team has either played 3 or 4 home game. Denver has played 3.
2. Denver has the leagues 5th best attendance average and 2nd best behind the Jets in the AFC. Denver is averaging 75,460 fans per game. One day I will be one of them.
3. As for our AFC West foes, Kansas City is 13th in the league averaging 69,739 fans per game. San Diego is a low 20th in the league at 67,435 per game. And last but always least the team in my backyard Oakland is 31st in the league only above Jacksonville with a whopping 49,134 per game. And my family always wonders why they are always blacked out. Its good to be king of the West.
Also take in note that some teams stadiums fit more than most. Dallas is number one on the list considering there stadium holds like a million people. But interesting fact they are losing more and more fans each home game. Their last home games attendance was 80,866 which isn't far from the 76,440 that showed up in Denver this year at one home game against you know who, Dallas!!
I expect a sellout Monday Night against Pittsburgh and I want it to be so loud there so my subwoofer wakes the neighbors!!
Adios me amigos!!

Maturity To a True MVP
We all know the story of Jay Cutler. A strong armed Quarterback from a not so big time College in Vandy. Someone we had no idea Mike Shanahan would trade up to take. After just being 13-3 and in the AFC Championship game and Jake Plummer playing Okay but not great, None of us Denver fans would have suspected us to take Jay Cutler with the 11th pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, but we did. And I like many I am glad we did.
via i.a.cnn.net
It's very rare to find a true franchise Quarterback, Many have failed, little have succeeded. The list of Hall of Fame Franchise QBs is thin but also great. Our very own John Elway, Troy Aikman, Joe Montana, Steve Young, Dan Marino, Terry Bradshaw, and future Hall of Famers Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, and Tom Brady. Its not very often you find a guy who can put the whole team on his back and lead them to victory on the road in the 4th quarter with ease. That was something John was able to do many of times. It is now something Jay has been able to do 6 times and counting in just his second season as a starter in the NFL.
After a rough first season campaign as an NFL starter Jay was beaten, battered and abused and had something very seriously wrong with him. We all know the story. And were probably all tired of hearing about it but it is remarkable. Type 1 Diabetes was what was wrong with him. And being able to cure it has made him a stronger person on and off the field. A true leader.
These last two games I have watched as if I wasn't convinced already, I have witnessed just like you an MVP QB taking his team on his back in hostile territory to victory. Jay Cutler is Maturing into the mold of an MVP. It Started in Cleveland at half time. When this team rallied around Jays 447 yards and 3 Touch downs to a come from behind 4th quarter win. Than again in Atlanta down by 3 with 5 minutes to play Jay scrambled to his right and threw a bullet to the ground to a diving Daniel Graham for a go ahead game winning touchdown. The Maturity continues.
Although Jay did not throw MVP numbers in Atlanta he did something which showed great Maturity. He took his check downs and took what the D gave him, which led to the awesome jay. 3rd and 7 47 yard bomb to Marshall on the teams final scoring drive. That game showed Maturity and the MVP status of Jay.
Many people will say Kurt Warner is the MVP of this league and its hard to argue against that. The guy has been awesome. He has taken the Cardinals from the bottom to the top. The suppose to be starter Matt Lienart probably won't see the field for two more years thanks to Warners stellar play. Oh and Leinart was taken ahead of Cutler in the 2006 draft for you information. Also people will say Kerry Collins should be the league MVP with his non mistake great play on the leagues only undefeated team. Oh and the suppose to be starter for the Titans vince Young was also taken above JC in the 2006 NFL draft but you already know that. I'm not even going to mention Drew Brees or Phillip Rivers because their teams are not in the leaders of their division at the moment.
But when push comes to shove Jay Cutler is the True MVP here. Let me explain. Kurt Warner has a slightly above average defense the best reciever tandom in the league, and a great rushing attack. Kerry Collins has the best one two punch running back tandem in the league and probably the leagues best if not top 3 defense in the league. Although lately he has been doing awesome which is good to see. None of them have the issues JC has.
For Cutler he has one of the worst defenses in the league with 5 starters out. He has a average running game which is getting to be awesome thanks to PHillis, Pope, and Bell. But lets see, Cutler basically has been taking this team on his back since opening night in Oakland. He is being asked by Shanny and Co to lead this team back to the playoffs. Throwing the ball 40 times is a bad thing many will say, but not with Jay. He is a playmaker who wants the ball in his hands with the game on the line. He thrives on throwing the ball 30+ times a game. He has arecieving core in which he trusts. Any throw he makes you just know its going to be magic. You will get the mistake but i would much rather take chances than not knowing you never tried. And with Jay thats what you get.
People will compare him to John and Brett but hey thats what the media does they compare. But I think JC is in his own league. He is a different breed of talent. and he is maturing into the level i knew he would become. A True MVP.
If you can't see it than i don't know which game you are watching, but this kid Saves just like the TShirt on tweedlet.com JC Saves. and that is why he is becoming a True MVP.

TSlice Tales: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
As I sit here looking at the overcast skies of Nor Cal, I find myself one day removed from another Sunday of disappointment. As the Denver Broncos fell short for the 3rd straight loss I became depressed as I do everytime they lose. With a day to reflect I nor feel good nor bad from yesterdays lost. That is why i can find the good, the bad, and the ugly from yet another lost.
The Good
There is alot of positives to me that i saw yesterday. All though we did lose I always look for the good in each and every game and I saw some great things yesterday that put a smile on my face.
1. Rookies Galore: Ryan Clady and the O Line did not allow a sack from a team that has been getting after the QB all season long. Not to mention Joey (Big Mouth) Porter was man handled by Clady most of the time.Eddie Royal makes his return to returning count. The reason i thought we drafted him for a threat in the return game was finally utilized again and his return that was oh so close for a TD got us some much needed momentum. Oh and did i mention Peyton Hillis becoming a threat in the passing game. Wow baby what a draft for the O Side.
2. The Defense played fairly okay. Believe it or not they kept us in the game. The last Miami drive they were tired and on a play everyone new was coming on 3rd and long, not saying i dont like the call from Slowik but on 3rd and long from a team that never converts them. You should have known the screen pass was coming. but all in all i was impressed from Paymah and Winborn most of all.
3. For as horrible as we have looked for the 3rd straight game in a row we are still in first place believe it or not. We control our own destiny. And to make you feel better we play Thursday making it a short week to grieve. The heeling process will be faster and with Brady Quinn making his first career NFL start lets hope we can make that muscle milk pretty boy pay.
The Bad
1. Jay Cutler is trying to do it all him self. He is trying to force the ball to much which lead to two INTS which lead to a quick ten point lead in which we were never able to recover from. Jay if your listening. I know you were taking heat for looking at Marshall too much. But he is still over there ready to move those chains. I love how you spread the ball but he is your playmaker give him the ball and good things will happen (TD called back for a BS call). Your still young and I love ya but just take care of the football and you will be greater.
2. Am I the only one who has noticed some BS calls in the past 3 games. I know people will say you can't blame the refs but I have noticed some calls that have been game changers and also happen to be just ridiculous calls. Marshall TD, Jax game, NE game. It seems to me that the NFL is trying to get back at us for the Ed Hochulli call. Call me crazy but I am noticing some horse s*** calls out there.
3. I am not liking the teams sense of urgency out there. I don't see any fire. You think coming off a bye and a blow out loss on Monday night this team would fire on all cylinders. But what i saw was the complete opposite. The offense looked flat all game if it wasn't for Peyton Hillis and Eddie Royals play. Bad throws, Dropped balls, etc....you can catch my drift on that one.
The Ugly
1. Turnovers, Turnovers, Turnovers.....if we are ever going to win a football game again we have got to stop killing ourselves and stop turning the football over. Whether it be INT's, or fumbles....go back to the basics of pee wee football take care of the football. "Hold on to that ball petey !!!"-Remember the Titans.
2. Injury bug has been upon us now for 2 straight season and thanks to some good depth i see us being okay. But we just lost our leading rusher for the year not to mention a guy who was a big part in our 4 wins. We are dropping like flies out there. So please stretch, and don't put yourselves in awkward positions and you wil be fine. Or do we just need a new effin trainer to take care of these guys. But it's the NFL injuries happen all of the time lets just hope we can overcome them.
3. Where has the masterminds plays gone. Im talking about the play action bomb that plummer use to throw to Lelie once a game. Im talking about runs for 20+ yards. We need the running game for are offense to click and without it all of the games will be like this one. Ryan Torain should be the guy now or at least until Young is healthy. Running gods of football if you are punishing us for being so successful in the past we get your point. Now can we please have our running game back.
Well MHR faithful at 4-4 we stand alone atop the AFC West and have a game Thursday night in Cleveland. Lets get out of this funk and let the good prevail over the bad and ugly.

5 Reasons the A's should trade for Matt Holliday
I think it would be huge if the a's could trade for Matt Holliday....Some might agree or disagree but a power right handed bat in this lineup is just what we need..
Reasons
1. The A's need right handed pop and Holliday fits the bill perfectley
2. We need a feared hitter in the middle of the order.
3. He is a good and we need some good players not 4A ball players
4. He will sell more tickets which means more money to spend
5. You will excel in the AL West making our games better and possibly a shout at the wild card
Lineup with Holliday
1. Mark Ellis 2b
2. Ryan Sweeney RF
3. Matt Holliday LF
4. Jason Giambi/Jack Cust DH
5. Carlos Gonzales CF
6. Cliff Pennington/ Gregorio Petit/ Bobby Crosby SS
7. Eric Chavez 3b
8. Daric Barton 1b
9. Kurt Suzuki C
Now doesnt that look like a strong lineup.
The Question is though what would Billy give up to get him since were rebuilding.
I say send Huston Street and others
Your THoughts?
Boss Dunski, Older bro Champ out for four, We sign Chad Jackson.
According to Rocky Mountain news.com Boss Bailey has been shut done for the year...
And to make matters worse his older brother and our best defensive player is out for Four weeks....OUCH!!!
And according to scout.com we signed former Patriots first round pick Chad Jackson...
Jackson is a WR.
I dont know what to think about this Chad Jackson move other than the fact that Stokely's concussion is way more serious than anybody thought. Or the Broncos are just going for a simple depth move...Or maybe even brought him in to be a kick returner since Andre Hall isn't getting the job done...we will see.

TSlice Tales: A High School Football Story
What up MHR faithful it has been awhile since i have wrote anything on this site. I miss it. Having been busy working, chores, and watching my nephew and niece I usual just check the site for five minutes a day. By the way i have got my nephew to start to say GO Broncos!! haha. FYI his parents are Fader fans.
It has been an interesting year so far for our Broncos but all in all I am very happy with how they have improved from last season until now. From JC play to the defense. The defense is getting there, it may not look it, at times i find myself wanting to say every curse word known to man in all the languages i know (2). Every problem we have on this team is correctable and this team is well on its way of becoming a powerhouse in the AFC. But what i wanted to share today was not of the Broncos but of a high school football game i attended last Friday night.
In the somewhat small city of Manteca, CA where i have resided for all but two years of my twenty year young life lies a town full of around 70,000 people. In this town there isn't much to do besides getting in trouble or just kick back and toss the old pig skin around. In this town located in the central valley of Northern California about and hour from San Francisco, Sacramento, and the Sierra Nevadas. We are in the middle of Nor Cal besides us being small we just opened Nor Cals first Bass Pro Shop and we also have a really nice Softball Complex called Big League Dreams. In this town Lies 3 High Schools. Manteca High School, East Union High School, and Sierra High School where i attended. Sierra High School is the newest of the three having been around for just around 15 years.
We are the Timberwolves and half of my big family our alumni from Sierra. 16 of us our attending or have graduated from Sierra. My Cousin who is attending now is a Junior. He plays starting left gaurd on the O Line.
Manteca High Buffaloes our the school that has just owned us in football. I read somewhere that in Sierra small school history we have never beat the Buffaloes. Its true in my brothers days to mine and now my cousins.
Last Friday i attended the game with my big family. Its was Sierra @ Manteca i was pretty excited to watch the game mainly because i love watching my cousin Pancake people.
On a cold windy night the game started around 7:30 P.M. The lights were on and the stands were fool of people and it just felt like it was going to be an intense football game.
Sierra got the ball first and drove down the field for a quick 7-0 lead. The crowd was going crazy and it was just awesome. The touchdown was lead by a block from my cousin. From there the game became a defense showdown. Hard hits, Turnovers, penalties, and some good play calling from the D Coordinators. By Half time the score remained 7-0.
In the 3rd quarter Mantecas offense started to get rolling and sure enough the ended with a touchdown. But on the PAT attempt a boched snapped led to a missed PAT. so sierra still had the Lead 7-6.
Sierra had a quick turnover so Manteca had all of the momentum. But Sierras defense held strong and forced them to 3 and out with about 4 minutes left in the game. Sierra Offense was in a hole on a third and about 9 and on a draw play with hole led by my cousin the runner bursted threw for a huge gain almost for a score. Sierra had the ball, a new set of downs, and with Manteca having no way to stop the clock Sierra safely Kneeled for their first victory ever against Manteca high.
It was awesome the best High School football game i have been to.
I was glad to have attended
and I hope you enjoyed this read.
Go Broncos!!!

Usain Bolt Wearing Blue and Orange
Something interesting caught my attention today when watching PTI. They had a segment on their rundown about Usain Bolt joining an NFL team. My first reaction was are you serious? Usain Bolt he is just fast. But then it got me thinking a guy of his size and speed does not come around alot. For those of you who don't know who Usain Bolt is, He is a Jamaican runner who broke Michael Johnson record in the Olympics recently.
<!-- TOKEN_1219717289250_TOKEN -->
Just imagine a guy like that running right by defenders as Cutler hits him stride for a Touchdown. He looks like hes jogging but in reality hes blazing like a cheetah. He would not only be feared by every team in the league but they would have to play deeper just make sure he doesnt blow by them on every play. This would leave open areas for Cutler to pick apart. I know it won't happend but im just saying this would be a nice little project for Shanny an Co that only outcome is an upside
Thoughts?

Webster is the man in the Middle
According to Denver Broncos.com Head coach Mike Shanahan has named middle linebacker Nate Webster as the teams starter. Nate was competing with the Job with Niko K2. I'm not really surprised from this because Nate has taken this oppurtunity and won the job. K2 i thought would come in as a different type of player but man i love it when Nates helmet fly off on almost every play lol...

Just post if you want in and your gamertag as a comment to this fanpost.
Let the Bragging rights on MHR begin.
The song of A Quest
Those of you out there on the MHR must now dawn the day of the Quest and it official theme song. The quest is referring to the 2008 Denver Broncos season. Which it has been named by our very own creator TheSportsGuru. The Following past weeks on MHR radio a new feel was added to The Quest when Guru got me all fired up playing the Kenny Loggins song from the Movie Top Gun, "Highway To The Danger Zone".
Here is the link
Here is also another link to the other pumped up song from Top Gun
This very song was appointed the official song of the 2008 Denver Broncos Season to go along with the Quest.
I usually don't write long stories on the site but i do love to make comments on the great stories on here. Occasionally i will post something from time to time like i am doing now.
But as for The Quest
In this quest one must ask himself do we have the character and ability on this team to take us where we all want us to go........Tampa!!!!!
That i say to you is up only to the players and coaches of this team. With some help from the football gods.
In the long gruling painful season that is the NFL do we find ourselves within a playoff birth. Do we find the heart and soul to bring eachother together for that very split second moment of greatness thats say "hey this team is not all bad and maybe, just maybe has an outside chance of greatness."
The dictionary defines a Quest as-a search or pursuit made in order to find or obtain something. But just what are we obtaining to find, a wildcard, an afc west title, an Afc Conference championship, or best of yet a Super Bowl Victory!!!! Which is like finding buried treasure for Indiana Jones.
Along the way of a Quest one will find heart breaks and losses and in BMarshes case maybe a suspension. But one must not endure the loss and find it within eachother to have the heart to come together as one to keep the Quest moving forward to its ultimate goal.
I for one believe that along the quest we will see losses, victories, but most importantly Denver Broncos football. The roar of the 70,000 plus at Mile High cheering for the Touchdown pass by Jay or the last second field goal by an unknown kicker. The INT by Bailey and Bly, Sacks from Dum and Moss, Hard hits by DJ, lynch and co. But most importanly a team that comes together to prove they are not the scrappy untalented bunch most see them to be. Most will predict them to fail, But within this team i see a greater good of a team that will not give up and keep fighting until that clock runs out and the crowd cheers them as victors or maybe in the end even champions.

What should a Bronco Fan Do
Yo whats up guys i havent been around lately and i appoligize i miss this site. I have a question that of course only us Broncos fans would know. I recently just got a job with Coca-Cola Enterprises and I am considering Forking out some cash for NFL Sunday Ticket this season. This is something Ive Always wanted. But living at home the Paps has Comcast dont get me wrong Comcast is nice with On Demand and all that but it doesnt have the one thing us football junkies really need the NFL Sunday Ticket...I live in California and probably get to watch about 5 Broncos games a year via Monday Night and all big time games. I have the money to do this Should I?
Is Alan Embree the New Jim Mecir?
Last year Alan Embrees performance was much better than this season. Last season i did not care if he came in as i felt the lead was always safe. But this year different story and after allowing 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th tonight it just got me thinking maybe he is the new Mecir.
Jim Mecir I am sure you all remember him. Everytime this guy came in i just knew the A's were going to lose. Now I am starting to think the same for Embree any body else feel the same?
Coaches on Hot Seat (Not Shanny)
An article i found on foxsports.com nfl page.
It's around this time every year when a list comes out with NFL coaches on the hot seat. With competitive balance, parity and the pressure to win, it seems like more and more coaches are coming under fire.
Let's separate fact from fiction.
Here's Schein's list of coaches who shouldn't fret about their job security, regardless of how 2008 turns out.
Mike Shanahan: — Shanahan won a recent power struggle with ousted general manager Ted Sundquist. It's a pressure-packed year in Denver, but even if the Broncos win eight games or less, Shanahan's head won't roll.
Whenever you are debating whether or not to fire a coach, an owner always asks if the club can do better. Fact is, it is impossible to do better than Shanahan. He's 130-78 in 13 seasons. Shanahan has the two Super Bowl championships. That's what you call a Hall of Fame-type resume. And I don't want to hear that he had John Elway back then and it was Elway who delivered Shanahan his rings. Shanahan got Elway to realize the team went through Terrell Davis. And I don't want to hear people question what he's done since Elway. Shanahan has chalked up four of his seven double-digit win seasons since No. 7 retired. Shanahan is one of the brightest minds in all of football.
While Denver owner Pat Bowlen talked about how important 2008 was when the club axed Sundquist, Shanahan recently told me he feels no extra pressure. And he shouldn't. Shanahan will be the coach as long as Bowlen owns the team.
It isn't Shanahan's fault that Brandon Marshall continues to show immaturity. And while you can question some of his moves as the head of personnel (Maurice Clarett was a terrible idea, as was the entire Browns defensive line), make sure to also give Shanahan credit for the trades that equaled Champ Bailey and Dre Bly, plus the golden 2006 draft of franchise quarterback Jay Cutler, Elvis Dumervil, Tony Scheffler, and Marshall, who despite his off-field issues has the makings of a future Pro Bowl receiver.
Andy Reid: — Whenever I get e-mails (video style) here on FOXSports.com or phone calls on my Sirius NFL Radio show from Eagles fans who want to fire Reid, I shake my head and laugh.
Do you remember how gruesome your franchise was before Reid?
Do you honestly believe you can find someone better than this top-10 NFL coach?
I don't want to hear about Reid being distracted when his kids had personal problems. Were you in the house? You have absolutely no idea.
I don't want to hear about his play selection/time management in the Super Bowl vs. the Patriots. It wasn't great, I grant you, but let's look big picture.
Every single year you know that if the club stays healthy, you are going to be in the mix for the Super Bowl. You don't trash something like that.
He's a whopping 86-56 in his Eagles career, and that includes a 5-11 1999 season when he had to clean up a mess from a prior regime.
In his next eight seasons, he won double-digit games six times, making the NFC title game four times.
Andy Reid doesn't deserve hot-seat status. He deserves a statue erected outside the stadium.
Marvin Lewis: Surprised to see Lewis on the 'totally safe' list? Here's the deal — Marvin Lewis is an excellent football coach. You can make the case that he helped create the Chad Johnson situation by having a set of rules for Chad and another for everyone else. However, everyone in Cincy is applauding how he has drawn a proverbial line in the sand this offseason when dealing with Johnson.
The Bengals won't fire Lewis. The only question is whether Lewis, who is so well respected across the league, will look to leave for a place with more sanity.
Eric Mangini: — In 2006, he was "Man-genius," expertly guiding the Jets on a stunning and unpredictable march to the playoffs in his first year in New York. In 2007, well, let's just say he wasn't "Man-genius" as the Jets slumped to an underachieving four-win season.
But Mangini is a good, solid football coach who has the respect of owner Woody Johnson and general manager Mike Tannenbaum. Now, the stakes are most certainly raised in New York with Tannenbaum spending Mr. Johnson's money wisely and actively this offseason. However, unless there is a complete player revolt, Mangini won't lose his job after three seasons, even if the Jets finish behind the Patriots and the Bills in the AFC East.

| ItBs going to be a long season in Kansas City, but Herm Edwards gets a pass because the Chiefs are in rebuilding mode. (Gregory Shamus / Getty Images) |
Herm Edwards: — If I did a power ranking for the upcoming season, my biggest debate would be whether or not to make the Chiefs the No. 31 or 32 team. It's going to be a long season in Kansas City.
While Edwards has his faults, like his inability to properly manage a clock despite the presence of time-management guru Dick Curl, his players play incredibly hard for him. And his results as a coach speak for themselves.
Kansas City — the clear cut winner of the 2008 NFL draft — is in full-fledged rebuilding mode. Chiefs president Carl Peterson hand-picked Edwards. Even when the Chiefs struggle to win four games, Edwards gets a free pass as this club looks to 2009 and 2010. And Herm will be around for those years, too.
Brad Childress: — Hide the women, children, and Sports Illustrated writer Dr. Z. When the good doctor picks your team to make the Super Bowl it is considered the ultimate jinx. And that's exactly what has happened to Minnesota. Expectations are rightly sky high with the Vikings this year after a sensational offseason, highlighted by the pickups of Jared Allen and Bernard Berrian. And Childress is tied directly to his young gunslinger Tarvaris Jackson, who I believe will thrive this season being coached up by the offensive master. You have to give the quarterback and coach time to grow together. There is also a thought that Brad Childress must deliver on the preseason hype to stay around past this season.
Look — Childress is a very savvy coach. As Darren Sharper has told me twice over the last few weeks, he's grown as a leader of men. Childress, like Mangini, is a task master. That can rub some players the wrong way. But even if the Vikings turn out to be the 7th best team in the NFC this year and fall short of the postseason, cooler heads will prevail.
Schein's hot seat list
The hot seat list is relatively easy — Scott Linehan, Mike Nolan, and John Fox are obvious (for the record, I think the world of Fox as a coach and I think Nolan will survive if Alex Smith shows progress). Wade Phillips is in a Super Bowl or bust season. That officially became a fact when Jerry Jones paid Jason Garrett a king's ransom to run his offense. Jim Zorn was originally hired to run the offense. Dan Snyder fired Marty Schottenheimer after one season. Zorn's seat, fair or unfair, is very warm.
Reminder: The always popular Schein-box (video-style) is back this week with a slew of reader e-mails, so keep sending them in!

ahhh shucks
Man i just read on ESPN.com that the Dallas Cowboys get to be on HBO's Hard Knocks camp show..
If you guys havent caught this show in the past couple of seasons its been pretty entertaining...
It gives an in depth look at teams training camps and position battles and undrafted free agents fighting hard for jobs....It also shows a couple of in depth look at pre season games....
I really enjoyed the show last year even though it was the Chiefs but it just is a well made show about the greatest sport on the Earth.
Ahh funny stuff
As me and my roommates were watching tv yesterday we were trying to predict who would win all of the divisions and the order each team would finish in.....
So we get through The AFC East, North, and South then we got the West....My order was Chargers, Broncos, Raiders, Chiefs but maybe with a possible denver team surprising people like my Oakland A's have so far this season.... This is where it starts to get funny...
My roommates start discussing my order and change it to....Chargers, Raiders, Chiefs, and Broncos....
I started busting laughing because this just shows me that i live with guys who dont know a thing about football...
They were saying stuff like; " Oh Cutler has diabetes now he is gonna fall of the face of the earth blah, blah, blah" and "Dude the Raiders have hella good guys now, their gonna be sick" and "Oh the Chiefs had the best draft ever and now they will be hella good"
I pretty much just laughed cause these our two guys who like the 49ers and our just jealous that they didnt wait a year for Cutler and Grab Marshall...
These our guys who thinks Nate Clements is better the Champ...
All i can do is just laugh at their non logic comments so i thought i would share it with you guys......
Cutler Talks about his Diabetes
Updated: May 2, 2008, 6:15 PM ET
<!-- end page tools --><!-- begin story body --> <!-- template inline -->ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Jay Cutler realizes he should have recognized something was wrong last season when lost 35 pounds and some zip on his famous fastballs.
"I had no energy," the Denver Broncos' third-year quarterback said Friday. "We thought it might be stress and the grind of going through a whole season. But once I got back here and started working out again, I just wasn't making any improvement. I wasn't getting any stronger. I was still losing weight."
Routine blood tests that are required before players participate in the team's offseason strength and conditioning program revealed the answer: His sugars were about five times higher than normal.

Jay Cutler said he lost 35 pounds last season before being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
The 25-year-old quarterback met with doctors last month, who told him he's an insulin-dependent diabetic. He got a crash course in the disease and its ramifications if uncontrolled.
"It's a little overwhelming to get that news and realize you're going to have to completely change your life," said Cutler, who accepted his fate after a few days.
"It's not something that's going to go away," Cutler said. "It's something I'm going to have to deal with my entire life and you've got to come to grips with that."
He said he never worried about his career being in jeopardy.
"No. That's the first thing they said to me: 'It's going to affect your lifestyle a little bit, but you'll be able to continue to play football,' " Cutler said. "I'm not the first athlete to get diabetes and I won't be the last."
Other professional athletes who dealt with diabetes and had successful careers include NFL quarterback Wade Wilson; tennis stars Arthur Ashe and Billie Jean King, Olympic swimmer Gary Hall Jr., NHL star Bobby Clarke, baseball Hall of Famer Ty Cobb and boxing greats Joe Frazier and Sugar Ray Robinson.
As long as Cutler manages his disease through exercise, medication and diet, there's no medical reason he wouldn't be able to continue performing at the NFL level. He'll have to monitor his blood glucose levels during games and drink some Gatorade if his sugars drop too low or take a shot of insulin if they skyrocket.
"I've got a lot of people watching me," Cutler said. "It's not going to affect me on the field. I'm going to make changes off the field, eating and stuff like that."
About 21 million Americans have diabetes, meaning their bodies cannot properly turn blood sugar into energy. Either they don't produce enough insulin or don't use it correctly. With the Type 1 form that Cutler has, the body's immune system attacks insulin-producing pancreatic cells, so that patients require insulin injections to survive. It usually, but not always, strikes in childhood.
The 6-foot-3 Cutler said he dropped from 238 pounds to 203 by season's end but is back up to 220 since beginning insulin injections after he was diagnosed last month. <!-- PULL-QUOTE (BEGIN) -->
They would ask me what was up and I would say, 'I don't know. I'm just so tired.' I was pale, I was skinny, I couldn't run. It was pretty dramatic.
-- Jay Cutler
<!-- PULL-QUOTE (END) -->"I've felt great. I've felt 100 times better," he said. "Just a difference now and four, five weeks ago is tremendous. It's hard to explain what you feel like when your levels are at 400, 500, it's different. You don't have any energy, you don't really want to do anything, you sleep a lot. It's tough to deal with."
Cutler said he had all the classic signs of diabetes: unexplained weight loss, frequent urination, constant thirst, lack of energy. Without a family history of the disease, though, he never suspected that was the culprit.
Cutler, the 11th pick in the 2006 draft, threw for nearly 3,500 yards and 20 touchdowns last season but the Broncos missed the playoffs for a second straight year. It was obvious as the season wore on that his arm strength wasn't what it was his rookie year, when he started the final five weeks of the season.
"I'm not going to blame it on that, but thinking back, there were some throws that didn't have a lot on them," Cutler said. "I was able to go out and perform, I just wasn't that energetic. I was tired. After the games, I was completely wiped out. Some games I didn't do a whole lot. There was something wrong."
In the weight room, he couldn't lift as much, and when he and teammates Brandon Marshall and Tony Scheffler gathered in Atlanta over the winter to work out together, Cutler said there were times he couldn't get out of bed in the morning he was so exhausted.
"They would ask me what was up and I would say, 'I don't know. I'm just so tired,' " Cutler recalled. When he went back to campus to visit friends at Vanderbilt, they, too, wondered what was wrong: "I was pale, I was skinny, I couldn't run. It was pretty dramatic."
Now, he feels like a million bucks and he's eager to get into practices and exhibitions to see how his body reacts and how he can keep his blood sugars in control during competition.
As for his changes in diet, no more eating, as he put it, "anything and everything."
"It's a big adjustment," Cutler said. "You're 25 years old, you're used to eating whatever you want, doing whatever you want. If you want to go out to lunch, go ahead and go. Now, you're counting carbs and eating healthier and injecting insulin at the table. You've got to have your insulin, your needles, your glucose meter, yeah, it's a big change. But it's something you have to deal with."
Eating less fast food is a silver lining to his diagnosis, said Cutler, who is looking into getting an insulin pump in the next month and plans to expand his charity work to include juvenile diabetes.
He also wants fans to know he's going to be all right.
"This is a serious, serious disease, and I'm going to have it for the rest of my life," Cutler said. "It's not going to change me on the field. I'm going to have some lifestyle changes, but I'm probably going to be a better quarterback this year than I was last year."

Broncos' Cutler helps college teammate on pro day

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Jay Cutler found himself battling a case of nerves Friday, standing in front of representatives of every NFL team.

Vanderbilt WR Earl Bennett had the benefit of catching passes from former teammate and current Broncos QB Jay Cutler during Vanderbilt's pro day Friday.
Cutler hadn't played with Bennett since Cutler's final season at Vanderbilt in 2005. But Cutler and Bennett share an agent in Bus Cook. So when the Southeastern Conference's all-time leading receiver decided to turn pro a year early, he called up Cutler for a little help prepping for the NFL Draft.
They put in nearly three weeks of training for Vanderbilt's Pro Day, and Cutler completed all 22 passes to Bennett to help wrap up the session including a nice shoestring catch by Bennett on a windy day.
"He was more relaxed than I was," Cutler said of Bennett after the workout. "I had a lot of responsibility on my shoulders to get some good balls to him. I threw a few bad ones. He made some catches for me, and it turned out really well I think."
It is very rare for a starting NFL quarterback to go back and help out an old college teammate. But Bennett was the best receiver Cutler ever had while at Vanderbilt, even though the quarterback was around only for Bennett's freshman season. Cutler is why Bennett caught 79 passes for 876 yards in 2005, a strong start to setting the SEC record with 236 receptions.
That is why Cutler was one of the first people Bennett called when he decided to turn pro.
"We talked about the situation me coming out. He said if I ever need him for anything, give him a call. I called him up and asked if he could throw to me at Pro Day," Bennett said.
Not just on Pro Day. Cutler and Bennett started getting back into rhythm in Atlanta for Friday's session, and Cutler has given Bennett and other Vanderbilt draft prospects tips on dealing with the NFL Combine, team interviews and visits.
Cutler said he was happy to help someone he sees as a great guy who had a great career at Vanderbilt.
"I'm excited for him," Cutler said.
On a breezy, warm day, the duo capped off a busy Pro Day that featured each NFL team.
Cutler threw 22 passes after the two cracked some jokes during their own warmup, and Bennett caught every one with three deep balls just to help show off Bennett's acceleration. The performance had to help dispel some myths about a receiver who had been tabbed as slow at the combine, where he ran 4.48 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
Bennett didn't run the 40 Friday. But he showed nice acceleration in chasing down slants and those long passes.
"They're used to each other and of course Earl played pretty good for Jay a few years back," Cook said. "I'm sure he helped Jay back in the day. But you don't find very often for a guy to come back and help out a teammate like Jay did. It was beneficial to Earl I'm sure."
The 6-foot, 204-pound receiver has a batch of visits lined up starting Monday with the hometown Tennessee Titans, who had scouts on hand Friday. Bennett said any chance to work with a pro like Cutler helps.
"I thought we did a pretty good job today, and I'm grateful he came out here," Bennett said.
Bennett wasn't the only prospect being studied Friday. Linebackers Jonathan Goff and Marcus Buggs showed off good hands, while defensive lineman Theo Horrocks and offensive tackle Brian Stamper were among 12 players working out for scouts.
But Vanderbilt's top draft prospect is left tackle Chris Williams, a 6-6, 320-pound lineman projected to go within the top 15 selections who possibly could top Cutler, who was the 11th pick overall in 2006 by Denver.
Williams is breaking up the wait until draft day by getting married on April 5.
"I would've had a month off until the draft. I've got the wedding in the middle, so it's helping a lot," Williams said.

Shananagans
This season big test for controlling Shanahan

Mike Shanahan is no longer ahead of his time.
Once a trailblazer among NFL coaches seeking to control all aspects of football operations, the Denver Broncos' leading power broker now stands among a shrinking minority in his profession.
The New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings also operate under the coach-as-dictator model, or close to it.
But numerous others have abandoned the approach, usually for good reason. While the arrangement has served the Patriots well, the Broncos must win in 2008 for Shanahan to regain credibility as executive vice president. His teams are 1-4 in playoff games since Denver claimed a second consecutive Super Bowl title nine years ago.

Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan (left) and former GM Ted Sundquist no longer are working together in Denver.
The Broncos finished 13-3 in 2005, 9-7 in 2006 and 7-9 last season. Meanwhile, Shanahan's penchant for shuffling defensive coordinators and his firing of general manager Ted Sundquist have refocused attention on the coach's sweeping executive powers. The subject merits examination, but with a young staff and a promising quarterback in Jay Cutler, the organizational overhaul can wait.
More than anything, the Broncos need Shanahan's best coaching job in 2008.
Top offensive assistants Gary Kubiak and Mike Heimerdinger are gone. Quarterbacks coach Jeremy Bates, 31, has added passing-game coordinator to his title this offseason. Bates might qualify as an ascending young coach, but Shanahan can't leave anything to chance this season. The Broncos' success hinges on whether Cutler, 24, realizes what NFL scouts widely regard as massive potential.
Cutler has 29 touchdown passes in his first 21 regular-season games. He was the NFL's No. 12 passer with an 88.1 rating last season. Primary receiver Brandon Marshall, still only 23, finished with 102 catches for 1,325 yards.
An organization can build around that level of production from young players in those positions.
However, the Broncos need to get younger on defense through the draft, and they need Shanahan to assume the primary role in helping Cutler take the next step. They need Shanahan's coaching more than his "executive vice presidenting."
Teams hire coaches to coach. They generally put coaches in charge of personnel only when a hot candidate possesses sufficient leverage to broker such an arrangement.
Shanahan declined the Broncos' first attempt to hire him away from the San Francisco 49ers in 1993. The 49ers won a Super Bowl the following season with Shanahan as offensive coordinator. When the Broncos finally landed Shanahan in 1995, they gave him a level of control few other coaches had enjoyed.
The model worked when Bill Walsh was picking the players for the 49ers. Bill Belichick has made it work for the Patriots, in part because he trusts vice president Scott Pioli.
Others have come to regret the arrangement, and the Broncos might be close to joining them.
Coaches Jimmy Johnson, Dave Wannstedt and Nick Saban combined to win three playoff games in 11 seasons while running the Miami Dolphins.
Dan Reeves enjoyed one spectacular season and four losing ones during a six-year run atop the Atlanta Falcons.
Bill Parcells won one playoff game while overseeing the New York Jets.
The Seattle Seahawks failed to win a playoff game under Mike Holmgren until he was forced to share control over personnel.
The 49ers have reduced Mike Nolan's powers this offseason, promoting Scot McCloughan to general manager.
Tom Coughlin succeeded as the main man with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he won a championship only after three humbling seasons with the New York Giants.
Anyone who has surveyed Shanahan's prolific team-issued bio knows humbling will not come easy, for "every successful team has one key leader, and those organizations that have achieved the greatest success have an ultimate leader -- an individual combining exceptional talent and organizational skills with the dynamic drive to lead others to success."
There's more: "When the success of a leader is achieved, and repeated, in an atmosphere of great pressure and expectations, that leader is elevated to elite status."
Indeed, Shanahan's teams have averaged 10 victories per season since 1995, including 9.8 over the past five. But the Broncos' roster features only a dozen players drafted by the organization, a league-low figure and half the average of the other 31 teams. There is nothing elite about that.
And the model Shanahan followed to consecutive Super Bowl victories in the late 1990s is no longer available to him.
While Shanahan found Terrell Davis, Trevor Pryce, John Mobley and Dan Neil in the draft, his championship teams featured key holdovers from previous regimes, notably John Elway, Shannon Sharpe, Steve Atwater and Tom Nalen. Shanahan also landed a long list of productive players through other means: Ed McCaffrey, Bill Romanowski, Harry Swayne, Neil Smith, Maa Tanuvasa, Darrien Gordon, Glenn Cadrez, Howard Griffith and Mark Schlereth.
Free agency has become less helpful now that more teams are re-signing key players before they can test the market. The Broncos must get better the old-fashioned way.
The franchise quarterback appears to be in place. More than ever, it's time for Shanahan to coach him up.
Mike Sando covers the NFL for ESPN.com.
KC Joyner
KC Joyner the football scientist on ESPN was answering questions today....
So I asked him one and he replied...
TommyTSlice(CA): Assuming the Broncos sign safety Marlon McCree how will the moves they've made improve their defense?
SportsNation KC Joyner: (4:38 PM ET ) McCree would be a great fit for any secondary that needs veteran leadership. I usually avoid that kind of comment, as it is often used as a cliche for any veteran regardless of if he possesses leadership skills, but McCree is that kind of person. He can get a secondary to gel because he creates a group environment among the back four. Denver doesn't need that, so I don't know that signing him would be the best move for them.
