Daily Norseman I KNEW IT WAS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE

All the Favre- All the magic- this season was more special than any since 98'. I woke up everyday thinking there is no way Brett could lose this game. All season long we watched him dazzle in purple, make the unprobable plays and take hits that most young guys couldn't. That aside, I watched the final 4th quarter drive with a blank stare. It seemed to good to be true. And it was. Blah Blah Blah about the Saints. We freakin BLEW IT AGAIN. I cant blame Brett because he was just trying to make the field goal more reasonable, I cant blame the rules of overtime, and i cant blame the refs (well maybe...). From the start of OT, i could just see 1998 replaying in my mind. A modern day Randall Cunningham choke. And when Hartley lined up, there was no doubt in my mind he would make it. As I watched with tons of friends and family, I looked at my Dad and he looked back, and our eyes sank to the floor. This was the season. Not saying that we won't be back, but it was in our hands and it slipped away. Its a gloom day for me and im sure you as well, but you cant win them all, and just having Brett Favre this season was more than a treat. Have a nice off season. Hopefully we have an uncapped year, and Zigi signs Peppers!!! Just kidding...kinda.

That being said, they saved me a ton of money. I live about 45 minutes north of Dolphins Stadium and probably woulda paid anything for a Super Bowl ticket. Now I can atleast go Saturday to watch the pro bowl practice (for free, not paying 200 bucks to sit upper deck at the pro bowl hahahaha fools). I highly doubt that any of the Vikings will play, but itll be cool to see all the other guys just running around.

Daily Norseman Im not buyin the bull...

So we enforced this week, what we have known for years, the Vikes dont really get pumped up for the big games against lesser opponents; case in point: Carolina. Whether it was a schism, injurys, or just a lack of energy, I hardly see them coming back monday night @ the Bears and shittin' the bed. The veteran leadership on this team is too strong for them to not pick up the guys who arent doing their job, and atleast give them the confidence to play at a higher level. That being said, its up to a handful of players to get it started in order for us to get rolling in a game. There must be something implimented in the offense to light a spark because it seems like the team got very complaciant. Perhaps we are saving stuff from showing up on film so we have a fresher look going into the playoffs. Nonetheless, I know it will be worth watching all the weekend games to get to the monday night showdown and to see jared allen do a little dance in solider field. im out.

Daily Norseman oh when the aint's...come marching in...

I cannot wait for NO to lose a final game and have to come play in the HOMERDOME! I for one, do not buy into all of this Saints hype. Lets take a team that has a 2nd place schedule, in case you wondered why they didnt play our beloved VIkes this year, its because we finished FIRST in our division. Therefore, they play 2nd tier teams. We play the other division champs, Cardinals, Giants, Panthers. If no one has seen the consistency of the NFC South, youll know that 1st place this year = 3rd or 4th place next year. (i.e. falcons, panthers, etc). Now, I dont take anything away from them for being 11-0 because thats a great record, but aside from Monday night,  Drew Brees has sucked over the past 6 weeks. Their running backs cant play week-to-week because there always injured. I could make comparrisons all day... but  I believe New Orleans peaked Monday night and will have tarnished success for the rest of the regular season. A one dimensional team like the Saints would get destroyed by the most balanced football team in the NFL. SKOL VIKES>

Daily Norseman #1 Reason the Vikes Need a New Stadium

On what would have been the sure highlight of the day, our beloved AP had the rock punched out from behind because he could not see what was on his trail. Consider this, in a complex such as UoPhoenixStadium, etc., where  jumbo screens are in sight of the players, he surely would have been able to peek up at and get a sense of what was sneaking up from behind. I know #28 was far enough ahead of the pack (lol) where he would have been able to see Pat Buchanon racing to catch him. Although it did not effect the game much, the fumble hurt in the worst ways. Just another comment in the box.

Daily Norseman Hit City.

When you lose, its tough to really feel happy after the game, but they were certainly some highlights that came out of the dreaded 4th quarter.

AP straight murked that Gay dude. He layed on the ground the entire time until the play was over. REAL TOUGH.

And Dugan pushing the ref face first into the ground, that P.O.S deserved eatin turf for handing over the W.

Oddly enough, they dont make the L go-away, but they cetainly helping knowing atleast 2 assholes got stomped.

Your thoughts?
