Bleeding Green Nation Chris Chase - Yahoo Sports Shutdown Corner

Here's the link to his blog, one with some CREDIBILITY:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Donovan-McNabb-s-psychic-says-he-ll-be-staying-i;_ylt=AgPW1Lfb4ONkAupPyMgJLBVDubYF?urn=nfl,216343

I love this quote by Chris:

"It boggles the mind how many Eagles fans are anti-McNabb and anti-Andy Reid even though those two have led the franchise to its greatest heights in 50 years. What, people are spoiled by eight playoff appearances in 10 years? That's just two less than the franchise had in the previous 39 seasons! If you're an Eagles fan and disagree I have a Joni Mitchell song you should listen to. (MJD wrote about this earlier in the month.)"

And like I have said about Kolb (He is not the guy I have said and I have said I doubt he is the guy), so does Chris.

"That's not to say Kevin Kolb would be an upgrade. As I said, I'd highly doubt it."

Many in the national press who KNOW the NFL think the fans are off base. Hey! We're gonna win a Super Bowl with Donovan!!

Bleeding Green Nation Eagles 2010 Squad - 4 Steps to Super Bowl GLORY!

This team really has the chance to take it to the next level. First off, I'd rather have a McNabb who can do what he does to GET us to the NFC Championship game and the Super Bowl. His short comings, I'm willing to embrace and find a way to keep teams from EXPLOITING! Always remember ROMO can't. RIVERS can't! WARNER can't anymore. And neither can BRADY anymore. I'm sticking with McNabb. I'm giving him a 2 year extension. After that, we will revisit his status. In fact, McNabb can fade to the perfect back up QB 2 to 3 years down the line. Kolb just has to wait if we don't trade him. Back up QB is a great way to earn a living.

Second, I am trading Kolb to Buffalo for Cribbs! CAN YOU IMAGINE "THE SUPERCAT" FORMATION WITH VICK AND CRIBBS??? Plus, as you see rhythm quarterbacks like Romo and McNabb need a security blanket. Once that blanket is taken away, their accuracy fails. Westbrook and the Eagles Swing pass/misdirection pass game is McNabb's blanket historically. And it is our running game as long as it is executed. This year with Westbrook out, we got drunk on the big play which is still GREAT in my mind. Now, if we get a Cribbs we can have our old safety blanket back for McNabb and we are now for the first time, a true DUAL threat offensively (Short pass/Deep pass). With that fast Dallas pursuit we experienced, a healthy Westbrook would have had some big games the last 2 and we would have at least split the regular season games with the playoff game being more of a toss-up. I'm also open for McCoy strapping on the study gear and learning the Westbrook role. I want Brian to retire so we can always see him as the GIANTS/COWBOY crusher he is! B-WEST! THE MAN INDEED! But DO NOT cut B-West. Keep him around as a coach-leader/3rd down specialist in charge of running backs and keeping that swing pass game accurate and in flow.

Third, I'M GIVING THE ENTIRE 2010 DRAFT TO THE DEFENSE! In-spite of the most glaring needs being safety and DE, I'm taking the VERY BEST DEFENSIVE PLAYER available regardless of the position with our first pick. The Eagles desperately need a show stopper, a major disrupting force on defense. Trent Cole is the only such player the Eagles have currently. He needs another. Then, we draft the best DE or safety, whichever is the best player available. Every position on the defense is up for tryout. There were no true studs other than Cole and Brown (He got torched a few times though).

Fourth, administratively, I'm asking Trotter to stay as linebackers coach. McDermott needs one of the old guard around to help keep the Jim Johnson way working. Trotter's effect was a definite plus. If Dawk retires, I'm going after him as a coach. We need someone like these guys on this team somewhere. We need inspirational leaders on this team along with better execution/management.

In summary, we are what we are. We can win the entire thing with this Andy Reid/Sean McDermott heavy pass/bltz your a$$ philosophy. We just need swing pass/deep ball balance and execution on offense and better aggression/players on defense. This will be a LIGHTS OUT year! I absolutely cannot wait because these things are addressable. Hang in there Eagles fans it wasn't as bad as it ended!

Bleeding Green Nation Setup Game???? Check Out the Andy Reid Trend vs Dallas

Cowboys vs Eagles the Last 10 Years (Andy Reid).

Several people have said Andy can't get the Eagles turned around to beat the Cowboys Saturday. THEY ARE 100% WRONG. The history and trend says that Andy gets it done in a BIG way Saturday. In fact, Andy has never lost 3 straight to Dallas. Andy is 14-8 against Dallas in 10 years. But when you look at the scores, Andy has throttled the Cowboys, especially in revenge. Look at Andy's body of work against the Cowboys then rush to put the money on the Eagles Saturday.

The Cowboys have scored 40 or more points in wins against the Eagles just once in the last 10 years and that game was close (41-37 at Dallas in 2008). The Cowboys own the lone blank on the Eagles, a total embarrasment. You probably shouldn't have done that according to the history with Andy.

The Eagles have scored 40 or more points 5, thats right FIVE times against the Cowboys. All 5 were blowouts. 2 of the blowouts were IN Dallas. (Hint: this suggests a complete turnabout Saturday)

The Cowboys have beaten the Eagles soundly (14 points or more) 3 times in 10 Andy Reid years.
The Eagles have beaten the Cowboys soundly (14 points or more) 10, thats right 10 times in 10 Andy Reid years. Or another way to say it, 10 of Andy's 14 wins against the Cowboys are Eagle BEATDOWNS!

The Cowboys have swept Andy Reid twice (2005 and 2009).
Andy has swept the Cowboys 5 times (2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, and 2006) We have split a lot the last 3 years but we have continued to win convincingly against the Romo led Cowboys.

The trend of Andy versus the Cowboys is that this is the game Andy EATS their lunch! Andy has gone into Texas and thrashed the Cowboys twice before.

Plus Andy has never lost a first round playoff game. He has always traditionally rallied them into gear.

Philly fans get tired of Andy saying he has to get this or that corrected. Against the Cowboys he has delivered. This is a clear setup game. It looks one way but is a shocker the other. Andy said that the Eagles would do better.

Now I want to be fair. There is a time when all teams with heart and guts get the bully off of their back, bucking the trends. We will see if the Cowboys can answer the call. But before you say something silly like the Eagles can't beat the Cowboys? At least you should do your homework. The Eagles have DOMINATED the Cowboys the last 10 years and have beat them soundly WAY more. Traditionally, Andy Reid teams prefer the 3 game route to the NFC Championship game. Even though we missed an opportunity Sunday, the recent history suggests success on Saturday!

This study really helped drive home the value of Andy Reid and Donovan (11-7 against the boys.). The way he goes back and figures things out equal an eventual Super Bowl kind of like Bill Cowher. I get it now. Saturday is our day!

Bleeding Green Nation Eagles Must Dictate the Flow

I know this is not a basketball game. But the Eagles clearly were in reaction mode Sunday. The Cowboys nuetralized our speed by playing everything in close on their O-line and we actually tried to penetrate all of that blubber. We need to spread their O-line and put them in space which means we need to blitz from the edge more 1st and the result will be gaps in the middle that are not currently there. I know blitzing from the edge takes longer but they have to react to it. So we can force them out of those tight O-line packages. The middle will then open up. We would be dictating the flow by making it about speed and not strength. That's what we are. We have to play faster and not react. Keep Trot in the middle and let him play down hill. Let a corner or a safety spy Witten, not just cover him. Blanket Witten. We will win Saturday. I am sure the Eagles will dictate the flow Saturday.

Bleeding Green Nation A Disturbing Trend

Going back to last year, the Cowboys have won 3 out of the last 4 against the Eagles. To me that's a trend. Andy Reid is the best Eagles coach in figuring out another team. But he better get the Eagles back on track quickly. 4 of the last 5 would be complete dominance IMHO. If the Eagles felt they didn't have much to play for Sunday, Saturday is everything related to not becoming another man's b*tch.

Bleeding Green Nation BEAK PERFORMANCE!!

That's my new nickname for the Birds offense if they take advantage of having 3 speedsters for the first time this year available. Do realize they can put a now healthy Curtis in the slot? They can stretch the field with 3 speedsters, keep Westbrook in to block and release once their entire secondary has to chase those 3 downfield. This can be real ugly if the Eagles offense hits on all cylinders! I CALL THAT BEAK PERFORMANCE!

We had Gang Green! Now we have BEAK PERFORMANCE!
