Fox, Miles Traded To Oakland

Sorry there is no article link yet, but a breaking news headline on ESPN Chicago is that Jake Fox and Aaron Miles have been traded to the Oakland A's for three prospects.  Like mentioned before there is no information about this trade.  I don't why we would trade Fox for other prospects when we need bench help, but it is good to get Aaron Miles off of the team.  Bye, Bye, Bye Aaron Miles!! One of the players is Jeff Gray, a right-handed middle reliever.

Here is the link.

UPDATE from Al: Here's some more information on this deal from Chicago Breaking Sports.

UPDATE 2, from the official press release:

The Chicago Cubs today acquired right-handed pitchers Jeff Gray and Ronny Morla as well as infielder/outfielder Matt Spencer from the Oakland Athletics for infielders Aaron Miles and Jake Fox and a cash consideration. Gray has been added to Chicago’s 40-man roster.

UPDATE 3: Poll on this trade added to the right sidebar.

Cubs to offer Wood Arb.

So it's now coming around that the Cubs plan on offering Kerry Wood arbitration, mostly because he is a Type A free agent and we could get some draft picks if he chooses to leave.  Wood has been quoted as saying that we would like to stay in Chicago even for a lesser year deal and money.  Could you see Kerry accepting some horrid arb. deal just to stay in Chicago or could this be the last slap in the face?
