Felix Rookie of the Week...again!
So the NFL's oldest looking rookie has won rookie of the week for the third time this season. I must say, I'm impressed. I thought he'd be a great addition when we drafted him, but who would have predicted this? Averaging 9 yards a carry? My god. This guy is a beast. I think Grizz said it best a while back, Felix makes me giddy every time he touches the ball. Hopefully he can keep up his performance and take home rookie of the year. Check out nfl.com/rookie for highlights and the writeup on this weeks award.

Skills Competition?
I've been trying to find when the skills competition will be broadcast, but I can't find anything on it. Is there even one this year? And if so, when and where will it be broadcast. I can't even find it scrolling through my DirecTV guide or searching nfl.com or googling. Ahhh someone help me. Thanks. :D

My neck of the woods makes national news
And not the good kind. I live in Cape Coral, Florida which sits directly next to Fort Myers, Florida; the home of the four people arrested in the murder/burglary of Sean Taylor. It's horrible thing to find out they are from just over the bridge. It's a true tragedy what happened to Taylor, and it's a horrible feeling knowing that the pathetic scum who are responsible live but a couple miles from my own home.

Parcells loves him some Gatoraide
Anybody watching the Louisville and Wake Forest game just catch the Gatoraide commercial with Parcells? I never thought I'd see the Tuna in a commercial. Craziness.

Pro Bowl Question
I've never really payed much attention to the probowl, with the exception of seeing who made it. So I had a question you older vets might be able to help me with. It relates to the defense of the two teams. Now players that play 3-4 and 4-3 defenses are both selected to play. How exactly is the defensive scheme set up? More so, how do they decide between 3-4 or 4-3, or do they even? Is it just whatever the coach uses? Also, is it the coaches of the teams from the Super Bowl that coach in the Pro Bowl or someone else? Thanks for the help folks.

Touching on a subject no one else does: T.O.
Haha. Anyhow, I just got done reading an article over at nfl.com (http://nfl.com/news/story/9882866) and it just got me overly frustrated. We all knew that after this offseason things were going to change quite a bit with the addition of Mr. Owens. The naysayers and even the mildly optimistic thought that he would one day tear this team apart, and many still do. But here's the thing, at this point in time he has done no such thing. Aside from the recent incident in which he spat on Hall (which the whole situation to me seems odd for some reason, but none the less)he really hasn't done much of anything wrong.
He pulls a hammie and everyone freaks out and says he is pissed off and pretending and so on. Rod Smith, Steve Smith, Hines Ward, and others all had hamstring injuries, but were they tearing their respective teams apart with a hamstring injury? No, but in some delusional way this was T.O.'s way of tearing this team apart? Are you kidding me?
Then fast forward a bit. Owens is consistently frustrated on the sideline because of the horrid play of Bledsoe. Can you honestly blame him? I sure can't because I was yelling just as loudly at the television. Then you have the leaked information about him falling asleep in a meeting. I assure you that if you were to take a survey of all the current NFL players and those who have since retired, a VERY HIGH percentage would admit to falling asleep during a meeting. It happens. They are disciplined and they move on. But in this case some how it is leaked and the media begins its TO frenzy.
Then TO screws with the media and says he must have slept through Parcell's championship speech and had his mind on his party. Because he was being completely serious when he said this. ARGH! Come on, I know these media minds are dense, but give me a break. The media doesn't seem to understand sarcasm.
I almost forgot the wonderful suicide attempt. That's right, fake suicide attempt to get attention. There is obviously no chance in hell that an athlete, almost all of which take all sorts of supplements and painkillers could never accidentally take too many, right?
Everyone is quick to throw that beautiful stat that states he has dropped 15 passes this year. What they never mention is the guy broke a finger, got a plate implated to help with that and then tears a tendon or what not and forgoes surgey and the ability to ever bend his finger again just so he can keep playing. I'm pretty sure that would affect anyone's ability to catch a pass, especially a guy who does occasionally drop a pass or two. What they also don't mention is the fact that he leads the Cowboys with 77 receptions, 1,040 yards and 11 touchdowns. The guy has been nothing but productive and without him I can't see this team being as productive as they are. He commands attention (i.e. double teams) and helps out tremendously with his blocking skills.
Now I'm no TO apologist, though it may have come off that way in this rant. I think it's inexcusable what he's done to Garcia and some of the things that went down in Iggles country, but he has yet do tear this team apart or do something horrible, with the sole exception being the spitting incident. Without him I can't see us being 9-5 and having the chance to win the division this Monday. I just wish the media would stop their asinine attempt to discredit the guy and decide they know exactly what is going on in the Cowboys locker room and how torn this team already is from his actions. Just get over it. TO is producing and sacrificing himself for the team. I've yet to see a report about his torn tendon in his hand with the exception of a 2 second blurb.
So there you have it, my rant of the week. Enjoy.

Jim Mora's job may be in jeapardy
I was listening to Sirius and they replaced an interview Jim Mora had with a station in Seattle. He told them that if the job at the University of Washington became available that he would immediately pack his bags and leave the Falcons. He also said it didn't matter if they had just won the SuperBowl or if they were in the middle of a playoff run. I'm guessing he's going to try to play it off as he was joking, but he said in all seriousness once or twice in the interview. I don't know about you, but if I were a Falcon I would not be too happy with my coach right now.

Tristan's Attempt to Predict the Future
I've decided, with four games left, that I am going to try to pick the playoff teams for this year. Not only am I going to fail miserably in doing this, but I've chosen to also pick the winners of all the games in the playoffs. Let's see how good I am (if I get more than 1 or 2 items correct, with the exception of division winners, then I will be thoroughly surprised).
AFC
East: New England (Seed # 3)
North: Baltimore (Seed # 4)
South:Indianapolis (Seed #2)
West: San Diego (Seed #1)
Wildcard Seed #5: Cincinnati
Wildcard Seed #6: N.Y. Jets
NFC
East: Dallas (Seed #3)
North: Chicago (Seed #1)
South: New Orleans (Seed #4)
West: Seattle (Seed #2)
Wildcard Seed #5: Atlanta
Wildcard Seed #6: Philidelphia
Wildcard Weekend
AFC
NY Jets @ New England = New England DESTROYS the Jets
Cincinnati @ Baltimore = Cincinatti squeeks it out
NFC
Philidelphia @ Dallas = Iggles play tough but ultimately lose to Romo-mentum
Atlanta @ New Orleans = The feel-good Saints crash and burn and Atlanta moves on
Divisonal Games
AFC
New England @ San Diego = San Diego keeps rolling
Cincinatti @ Indianapolis = Indy continues their bout of Choke-itis and Cinci moves on
NFC
Dallas @ Chicago = Chicago says hello to a good team and goodbye to the playoffs
Atlanta @ Seattle = Seattle struggles but squeeks it out
AFC Championship
Cincinatti @ San Diego = Cinci in a nail-bitter
NFC Championship
Dallas @ Seattle = There will be no repeat of the game last year. Bledsoe is gone and Romo-mentum will roll us into the Superbowl
SUPERBOWL XLI
DALLAS VS CINCINATTI = Umm, does six superbowl rings mean anything to you?
So there you have it. 95 percent of this probably will not happen, but I was bored.

SopCast Question
I can't seem to remember who originally brought up this program and the ability to watch the games online. Anyhow, I was having trouble with it for quite some time and getting it work. Well I have since gotten it to work, but now I'm curious how to find what channel the game will be on. So to anyone that has used the program to catch the games, your help would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, and for everyone else, you should check this out. It's pretty nifty. They even have the NFL network. Though, there are evidentaly over 2500 viewers connected so I can't now. Garrrh!

I HATE THE BUCS!
So. Fox holds on to the Dallas and Giants game this Sunday. It's the big 4 o'clock game. National audience. What is Tristan doing this Sunday at 4p.m. eastern standard time? How about watching the god-forsaken Bucs play the Steelers? That's right ladies and gentlemen. Living two hours south of Tampa makes me want to hurt someone...badly...very badly. And since I don't have satellite there is nothing I can do to watch this game. I'm going to be stuck either sitting in my car listening to Sirius for three hours, or sitting in this chair watching stupid little helmets move across a green rectangle with lines on it. The same screen that is so delayed that during the last Washington game it said the game still had 19 seconds or so left 15 minutes into the next game. I just thought you should all share in my misery.
In other news, much better news, my Romo jersey arrived today. That makes me feel good about life again.
