Dooling to the Nets, makes M. Williams odd man out

http://www.nj.com/nets/index.ssf/2008/07/nj_nets_agree_to_signandtrade.html

I have discussed this scenario before. I think that the possible new acquisition of Keyon Dooling will only make Marcus Williams even more expendable for the Nets. He's a young player with much potential, but has been given limited PT due to J. Kidd, and D. Harris, let's at least add him to our roster for whatever minimal costs it be, it's a minimum risk. With Buike likely gone, we can always keep an eye out for another 3rd string PG if we're not happy with CJ and M. William's performance. Although I think CJ is thoroughly proving himself in summer league. What do you guys think ?

trade idea for GS to get decent PG of future

Here's one PG that I would love to see in a Dubz uniform. He's a player who's way underrated, hasn't recieved enough PT b/c he's been burried by other big name players. I'm pretty sure he's under contract right now, as I believe he'll be entering his 3rd year right now. The player I'm talking about is Marcus Williams of the New Jersy Nets. He was burried on the bench as a rookie by Jason Kidd. I saw him in the summer league and think he has much potential and would thrive in a Don Nelson offense. His second year, he was burried again with the trade of Jason KIdd for Devon Harris, who's recieving a bulk of the minutes. Also, they have Darrel Armstrong as veteran backup at PG, so Marcus seems expendable.

I would suggest we sign Kelenna to a contract and trade him to the Nets for Marcus Williams. This makes sense for both teams. We signed Corey , and have an upgrade over Kelenna fo sure. We also are loaded at the 2 with Marco and Monta who will probably play a little PG too. The Nets are lacking a solid shooting guard after getting rid of Richard Jefferson in the trade for Yi and Simmons. Simmons is an ok guard but he's way overpriced and injury prone and I'm sure the team would like more of an insurance policy at that position.

I also think the Warriors should swallow their pride and see if they can pry BD back from the Clippers. It's worth a shot and I"m surd Diddy would definately give it some consideration considering he has nothing to work with in the Clippers, and a coach that really doesn't fit his style. 4 years for 48 mill ?

Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to Oracle Arena to cheer on the dubz and had to watch it at home. The most important game of the year and we blew it !!

Here are some assesments I have made from watching the Dubz play this game and the previous 4-5 lackluster games...

*Captain Jack- Everyone says that like Baron he's part of the core and glue of this team, and although his attitude and energy may be key atttributes to the team's success, his game isn't...his numbers may be up, 20.1 (etc...) making it the first time 3 Dubz have scored 20 or more since Run TMC, but his shooting percentage is lousy. I'm so annoyed with his reliance on the 3. Hoisting up 3's within seconds of passing the halfcourt and not setting up the offense. I have noticed his confidence has also seemed to be shaken, as he seems reluctant to take certain shots in the game.

* We are playing more one-on-one in the halfcourt sets. We aren't making the extra pass needed to free open an easy bucket. Instead of penetrating into the defense and kicking it out we decide to pull the trigger early before the offense is set, we're way too trigger happy on the 3. Last year at during this time of the year there would be 3-4 diff. Warrior touches on each possession before a shot was hoisted. That way every Warrior on the court would contribute. I notice this year Davis and Monte have been very effective on one-on-one scoring at will (espec. Monte). But you can't dominate all 48 minutes playing dat way, b/c ur bound to eventually miss. And when we play 1-on-1 other guyz become obsolete and then when buckets aren't falling the other players are more likely to defer to the 3 main scorers, and thus our bench has actually been rather weak, barely contributing in the points category.

I hate to say it we need J-Rich. He was the man, the tru Warrior. He was athletic, he always took it to the rim with energy, he defended, he put his heart and soul into the team.

our team now with its improved record from last year, I feel in many ways is weaker and deficient in areas that last year's group was great it in...the record is just a mere record, its a mirage, we're not as good as our record, we have no defense and we rely way too heavily on the 3...

We should have played our rookies more consistent minutes early in the season. Bellenelli espec. since his game is focused on jump shooting. Our team is jump shooting team, if we're gonna hoist a bunch of 3's at least have some one who can shoot a high percentage. I think he would have flourished in our system if he got more PT. He would have been paying dividends now in this big game.

*Signing Pietrus, and Barnes to one year deasl kinda bit us in the but. You could argue their lackluster play this year may be due to the fact that they felt undervalued and underapp. and also not knowing their future with the ballclub.

*Monte's the man, his game is always evolving, he's getting better every game and will be our go to guy next year.

* both Monte and AB need to be resigned, along with Baron ofcourse.

I'm out.

Just wanted to send a shout out to all my Golden State Warrior fans in NY. I was at MSG last night and witnessed the turnaround of our beloved Warriors as they begin a new streak, a winning streak of 3 games! Born in Fremont in the East Bay, and right now working out in Queens it was nice to nice to see some "We Believe T-shirts in the stands and The City Jersys." I just wanted to show my support to all the other Warrior fans out in the stands last night. OUr team played with heart and to my delight some stellar defense.

It was awesome hearing the Warrior fans chanting for the Warriors over that of the chanting for the Knicks. This post is dedicated with much love to all u Warriors fans out who showed up in MSG with all there gear, from fan in seat 315 with the retro City Richardson Jersy! Go Warriors!
