Are the Angels in financial trouble?
I'm asking a legitimate question on True Grich. A lot of curious things have happened - some not so obvious; such as asking season ticket holders to pay for their tickets three months earlier than usual. The contract dispute with stadium workers. The new no-rain check policy when running out of promotional items at games where there is a give-away. Add that with not adding any payroll at the trading deadline and I think you have the basis for an honest question.
Walk this way... lessons for Peter Bourjos
Just got back from Spring Training the other day... and I have to tell you that gonig to Tempe just never gets old. Every time I go, I wish I had more time to spend there. The atmosphere is just so different and the experiences you walk away with are priceless.
This trip was no exception... even though it was brief I captured a few precious moments and recorded them on my blog True Grich. Check it out at http://truegrich.blogspot.com I have a fun little video to share with you that involves Torii Hunter and Peter Bourjos.
For those of you who have gone, you will relate to the stuff I posted... if you haven't been - you really need to plan a trip and go. You'll be hooked for sure.
Why do you love baseball?
It's a simple question - but the answers are as different as one can imagine. I asked this on my blog "The Baseball Docent" and responses have been heart felt, entertaining, funny, and so much more. Bloggers, fans, friends, and even strangers have replied. Their stories are amazing. So... Why do you love baseball? Have you ever really thought about it? Think about it. Write it down and share it with others. It's a great exercise in my opinion.
So, you want to work in baseball, eh?
Ever wonder what it would be like to work for a major league baseball franchise? Wonder how you make that happen? Well, it’s like anything else worth achieving; it takes hard work and dedication.
A prime example of that is represented in Ryan Cavinder’s story. Who’s Ryan Cavinder? Ryan is a Media Relations Representative with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and he was kind enough to take the time to give us an inside look at what he does, how he got there and what it’s like to be a part of a major league franchise. Is Steve Garvey a closet Angel fan?
check out the video and post on my True Grich blog for details.
Jered Weaver threw an inning today... yes, today
Caught Jered Weaver at the Long Beach State Dirtbag inter-squad game today at Blair Field in Long Beach. He threw an innning, striking out one while not giving up any hits. A couple other major league pitchers also threw, including Cesar Ramos (Padres) and Marco Estrada (Nationals). They all threw an inning. Pics and more on my blog. It's never too early for baseball!! Great day to be outside. Can't wait for Spring Training! Go Halos!
