Bruins in Utah
Did anyone see this?
Quote from the article about best case/worst case scenario regarding the trogans.
"A column appears on UCLA blog "Bruins Nation": "Is it wrong from Bruins to respect Kiffin?" Writes "Nestor": "It's like John Wooden and USC fans. Wooden's greatness transcended the bitter rivalry. So it's possible to acknowledge that a great man is the leader of your hated enemy. Of course, I'm not yet ready to compare Kiffin to Wooden after just one season. But the idea obviously has hatched.""
Win It For Wooden T-Shirt
Did anyone see the "Win it for Wooden" T-shirt in the crowd at the baseball game yesterday? Does anyone know where can I get one? I've googled it and cant find anything. Any help is appreciated.
A response to "my buddy" DT
Wow! The DT blesses us with another "masterpiece". Here's a quick question, why do you have 15 links in every post you make? Don't get me wrong, anything to get away from that thing you call a blog is ok in my book, but why so many? Do your posts lack so much substance that you need to refer people outside to find what they really want to see?
On to my choice of schools and me being "UNLV Jay". Pretty funny I may add, I know that "Talking Shit 401" is an Honors class at SC, but couldn't you have come up with something a little more clever than that? I went to UNLV for a few reasons, first and foremost, I screwed around way too much in high school to get into a great university such as UCLA, and even if I did, UCLA doesn't have an undergrad business program. I'm pretty sure I would have been accepted to SUCk (uh oh, the Big Bad Bruins are at it again. Those meanies!) but I chose not to piss away 40K a year to end up with a useless piece of toilet paper (insert another great DT link here on how USC is "catching up" to UCLA academically). We all know that UCLA rejects default to $C, therefore causing both UCLA and SC's average GPA to go up. And, not that I expect that you read anything on BN (you must be too busy replying to the average 2 comments on DT to respond) but, I have made it no secret that I went to UNLV. I have mentioned it a handful of times and it is nothing I am trying to hide. I made my bed during high school, and I had to lay in it. I didn't want to go to CSUN, or any Cal State school for that matter, so I looked a little farther. UNLV seemed like, and was a fun option. The nightlife is second to none and like SC, they pretty much hand out a degree to anyone (you big bully "UNLV Jay"). And about Joe Francis going to UNLV, now I guess USC, I guess I heard wrong. Maybe the dork frat was trying to be cool, who knows. I wasn't in a frat, I didn't want to be. Greek life at UNLV is rather small and it couldn't compare to the night life around town. And I only cheered for UNLV athletics one time and that was when we played SC in basketball, not that SUCk fans have ever heard of such a sport, (here he goes again, hasn't he heard that OJ Mayo is coming to SC and we are going to be a national contender?) but that was the only time. And yes, UNLV players are paid. Am I bragging? No, I couldn't care less, UNLV athletics is a huge joke, kind of like every sport besides football at SC (you bully Jay). Here is a question to ask the 2 readers of DT, how may of them went to SC? I'm guessing you could probably place links on that single question about 3 times?
And you mentioned "respected sports figures" at UCLA. I noticed missing from the list was Marvin Goodwin, JJ Stokes and now the legendary Eric McNeal. Wait, anyone that punked SC is not a "respected sports figure"? I guess at SC, to get mentioned you need to be in the same category as OJ "If I did it, this is how it was done" Simpson, Matt "I still think we're the better team" Leinart, Mark "I'm a rapist" Sanchez, Reggie "I didn't know my parents were living in a free house" Bush, and Dwayne "Free Rent" Jarrett (here he goes again, those UCLA fans can't play nice). How is that for a Hall of Fame crew?
One link to the BN (your favorite site) I noticed was missing from your "masterpiece" was a link to USCLINK's post on how we should play nice. I personally chose not to respond, but it is pretty funny how SC fans have run their mouth for 7 years, and now that they just realized the SC football team can't count to 8 they want to play nice. boo hoo. Cry me a river. SC fans, including yourself talk more shit than anyone I have ever seen. And before you guys start your rant for the 500th time about the guy that lost his eye, I will address it now. First off, if you believe that he was just sitting there minding his own business and got cracked across the head with a beer bottle, I will tell you that you're wrong. I would believe there was some sort of altercation and it led to that. I am in NO WAY justifying the Bruin fans actions. It was disgusting and he should be locked up for many many years. But don't sit there and try to sell the role of the innocent Trojan that was minding his own business having a pre-game picnic with his wife and kids, because that is bullshit and you know it.
Now to address the "behavior" of the Nation. Let me start by saying this is a nasty rivalry and it always has been. I know that most SC fans have only been around since Palmer won the Heisman, and have never seen UCLA have something to be proud about, but this is how it is, this is how it has been, and this is how it will always be. You hate us, we hate you. I do recall a couple years back(maybe even last year) an SC player saying something about how SC respects Notre Dame, but hates UCLA. That's fine, I expect that, that is what makes this rivalry so great. We work together, go to functions together, and God forbid some of us even live together. We are the BEST rivalry in all of America, and it is because of the hatred towards each other. If it was just a friendly rivalry with no trash talking, it would be boring. But now that SC lost, and you guys have NOTHING to say, all of a sudden the "Big Bad Bruins" are being extra mean. Well, once again, cry me a river. The town is painted blue once again, and rightfully so. Good defeated evil, and the sun can once again shine bright over Los Angeles. Ring that beautiful BLUE bell baby!!!
And on behalf of DT, a big thank you to Paragon for taking "ownership" of DT's post and allowing that trash to be posted on CC, because we all know that anything posted on DT is never seen anyway. Thanks Paragon.
And I must admit, I'm finally rooting for the SC "3-Pete" Go Michigan!
UCLA License Plates
I was watching highlights of our confetti parade tonight on the news and saw a cool UCLA license plate, it said "SPANK SC" I have a couple myself, and it made me start thinking about the rest of you that may have UCLA personalized plates.
I'll start with my two:
On my car the license plate says "USC H8R"
On my dad's truck the license plate says "HATE USC"
Anybody else have any UCLA personalized plates?

Anyway, I need to fill out the 200 word minimum so I am just going to ramble on. I really think we have a chance this year, but then again I thought the same last year. All we can do is hope and pray (for the spiritual fans) that Karl Dorrell has our boys prepared and ready to go. SUCk is beatable, it was proven a few weeks ago by a team we beat. We can do this. I hope everyone wears blue on Saturday and everyone is louder than they have ever been in their entire lives. Booty can be rattled and it's up to us, the 12th man, this Saturday to get into his head early. Upset special on Saturday.
Go Bruins!! Fuck SC!!
One word - SCum!
I HATE them, I HATE them all, every single one of them. Especially all those "lifelong" fans they have now. You know, the ones that talk shit about UCLA because SC has won 7 in a row(even though they have only seen the last 3) that walk around town in their #8 "Free Rent", I mean Dwayne Jarrett jerseys that have never been to an SC game and are still trying to figure out why all the other SC "fans" keep giving the "peace sign" when the white donkey runs up and down the field at the Colliseum.
Here is a perfect example of the SCum, yes I'm starting to call people out, from The Displaced Trojan blog, by a poster by the name of "Boi From Troy"(I wouldn't use a name but one of the links breaks off to a post that our "Bruin Blue" posted over here, so all is fair). The copy and paste trick doesn't do this masterpiece justice. He has 21 links in his little writing, which link to everything from Dump Dorrell.com, to a link about OJ Mayo, to the score of last years game, to even a couple of our posts here at BN. Go to (LINK REDACTED - N) to see this thing in it's full glory. Caution: you will need a barf bag.
So, we turn our attention now to USC's crosstown "rival" ... of course, we use quotes because we can't be sure if that's an accurate word to describe the relationship here. It just doesn't seem appropriate.Never mind that ESPN considers this Saturday's game a foregone conclusion, having run a segment last night projecting and analyzing what an Ohio State vs. USC match up will look like in the BCS Championship Game.
Never mind Cal fans, who revel in their little sister school's football failures, while claiming the Pac-10's No. 2 spot (literally and figuratively) as USC's true conference rival.
The thing is we know of real rivalry, and this isn't it. We know because we experienced a real rivalry last week. Sure, the "Irish" didn't put up much of a fight, but ND was ranked in the top-10 and the pre-game hype on a national scale was grand ...
BCS implications for both schools ... Quinn vs. Booty ... McKnight/Samardzija vs. Jarrett/Smith ... Zbikowski vs. Ellison ... Walker vs. Gable ... Weis vs. Carroll ... Touchdown Jesus vs. Non-denominational Education ... The after glow of last year's classic in South Bend.
This week we've got, what ... 66-19, Karl Dorrell and "Southpaw Jesus"? Ugh.
Sure, we'll hear all the usual crap from them this week. All the condom jokes, all the "spoiled children" and "second choice" stuff, along with a bunch of swear words with asterisks in them. But we know these are just feeble attempts to distract us - and perhaps more importantly distract themselves - from the reality of the situation.
Yes, their basketball team looks nice this year. But they can't even enjoy that very much, with this O.J. Mayo kid coming to town to steal the spotlight in L.A.
Yes, they've been waiting for their 100th national team championship for a while now. But what does that really mean when 22 of those titles happened in volleyball and softball, most before half the country actually played those sports?
Even their corner of the blogosphere is in shambles, having been thoroughly confused and demoralized by Dorrell's incompetence, A.D. Dan Guerrero's indifference, and the shadow of the unprecedented success that is USC Football.
We know they threw in the towel long ago, but this week they're grasping for something ... anything ... even if it means disgracefully refusing to engage in a friendly "roundtable" with Conquest Chronicles (for which this Displaced Trojan has been guest-blogging for the last couple weeks.) You can almost see the shame in their eyes as they make up this cowardly excuse:
That's nice. But I think we are going to pass on it. We don't need any pity from the Trojans [...] We have done four of these roundtables throughout this football season. And every time we did this roundtable exchanging Q&As bloggers from other teams - Washington, Oregon, Notre Dame and Cal - our Bruins lost all of those games. As much as we respect the work of Conquest Chronicles, we are not going to have any roundtable with Trojans this game week on BN. We haven't done these roundtables for 2 games in a row (rejecting the last bid from an ASU blogger) and no way we are going to jinx anything now.
As if luck, let alone whatever their blog does or doesn't do, has any bearing on the issue at hand. For sure, the Trojans won't look past them. Our man Carroll takes care of that.
Still, we have to ask: Where is the rivalry? Are there any signs of life (let alone intelligence) over there? Is there any dignity left?
Just like ESPN, you know the answer already ...
Fight On! WE ARE SC!
These idiots have their heads so far up the "Humanitarian" ass it's disgusting. All these SC "lifers" are loving the 7 straight, it's unfortunate that they never knew SUCk even played football before Carson Palmer won a heisman. And I love the line about OJ Mayo "stealing the spotlight in LA" I know that drugs run freely around the University of South Central, but can they at least make a post while they aren't under the influence of some illegal substance? And wasn't it nice of him to show that SC is envious of UCLA approaching 100 National Championships? I dont expect anything less actually, times are rough over in South Central between the middle of January and the end of August. But lucky for them they can still have their wet dreams about Pete Carroll during the off-season.
And how's this for a "swear word with an asterik".
FUCK SC!
Koetter out at ASU
Koetter is out at ASU!
Attention Dan Guerrero, It CAN be done!
I found this on CNNSI. Doesn't look like ESPN has even picked this up yet, neither has ASU's official site.
Hopefully Dan Guerrero can follow in the same footsteps and get rid of our incompetent excuse for a football coach.
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- Arizona State football coach Dirk Koetter has been fired.
Athletic director Lisa Love will make the announcement after the team's annual awards banquet Sunday night in Scottsdale, a source close to the program said. The source asked not to be identified because the announcement was pending.
Koetter, 47, went 40-33 in six seasons at ASU.
The Sun Devils completed a 7-5 regular season with a 28-14 victory over arch rival Arizona in Tucson Saturday, clinching their third consecutive bowl berth under Koetter. He went 4-2 against the Wildcats.
There was no word on whether Koetter would coach the team in a bowl game.
The firing was first reported by the East Valley Tribune on its Web site.
Anyway, we are taking a week off on the Dump Dorrell campaign, but thought you guys might find this interesting.
Go Bruins! Fuck SC!
Bruins are forever, but a Trojan is only good once!
Back from Cal. Plus DumpDorrell.com
So I just got back from the disaster at Cal. It was a fun trip and I don't care what anyone says, there weren't 4000 Bruins there, not even close.
I wore my shirt and fought through the cold during the game so that everyone could read it all day long.
Front: "Save UCLA Football"
Back: "FIRE Karl Dorrell"
I wore it to the Bruin Bash to start the day. Believe me people, EVERYONE is behind us in getting rid of Dorrell. Literally 15 or more people came up to me asking me where I got my shirt because they wanted one. I told them I had it specially made but they could go to dumpdorrell.com as they would have some shirts for sale real soon. People were coming up to me saying stuff like, "Where did you get that?" "Where can I get one?" "That shirt is great!" "We need to get rid of him ASAP" and on and on. I told them all that we need to start speaking up. I did get slack from one guy, but this guy was a joke himself. This assclown comes up to me with a UCLA shirt and a SUCk hat. He literally gets in my face and asks why we need to get rid of Dorrell. I gave him all of the obvious reasons, and he still wouldn't go away. He tried convincing me that Dorrell was a good coach, but I stood my ground. Then he tried defending Dorrell saying to give him a couple more years. That's when I couldn't handle it anymore and laughed at him and walked away. But here is the best part, this asshole tells me, "you're just like an SC fan trying to get rid of your coach too early." I turned around and said, beleive me, every UCLA fan wishes Hacket was still at SC, but unfortunately SC did the SMART thing and hired a compitent coach, kind of like we should do. He had no answer for that one. Anyway, if any of you have ever been to a Bruin Bash, Dorrell's wife and family is usually there. Well it took a few hours but she and the fam finally showed up and lucky for me she was sitting there chatting right next to the food table. So, proudly displaying my shirt, I went and pretended I was looking at the food right in front of her to make sure that she knows and she can tell her husband that we're not screwing around anymore. After that I walked away, but later did it once again, in case she missed it the first time. I also went up and had a chat with Chris Roberts and Matt Stevens to make sure they saw the shirt as well. I just made small talk with them, but I wanted to make sure they saw it too. As I was walking away from talking with Chris Roberts, I see this guy like signaling to Chris to look at the back of my shirt. I didn't want to turn around to see what his reaction was, but come to find out later, this guy introduced himself to the crowd as someone in the Atheltic Department. How's that for sending a message?
On to the game:
Dorrell was an idiot as usual, im not surprised. I fought through the cold and didn't put a sweathsirt on to make sure that the shirt got as much show as possible. I took every opportunity to stand up and stand on the bench seats to make sure everyone could see. I heard one guy trying to start a cheer "Fire Dorrell! Fire Dorrell" No one else caught on though. And when the usual UCLA fans were leaving at the beginning of the fourth quarter, I stood up and faced backwards that way they could all see it as they were walking up the stairs to leave. A few more people came up to me in the crowd asking where I got the shirt and where they could get one. A few people even told me they were UCLA fans rooting for Cal hoping that if we lose out Karl will be fired at the end of the season.
Overall it was a fun trip, Cal usually is. Too bad we don't have a coach that could give our team a fighting chance up there.
One other side note I just remembered. At the end of the first half when we recovered the fumble with about a minute and a half to go, I turned around and told my dad, "If he runs the ball right now, i'm going to go down there and kill him myself." Well sure as shit stinks, our boy Karl ran on first down. The good thing about this, and the reason im writing, all of our fans started booing Dorrell. And by the looks of the rest of the plays on that drive, he heard us loud and clear.
Cal trip this weekend
I was just wondering how many, if any of you are making the trip up to the bay area this weekend. I will be there and also be there at the Bruin Bash pre-game party thing. I tried to convince myself not to go, but I want to be there to support our TEAM, even though their coach is an incompetent idiot.
I just got my shirt in the mail today, and it looks bad ass. Shirt is blue, the letters are gold.
front: "Save UCLA Football"
back: "FIRE Karl Dorrell"
I will definitely be wearing it all day Saturday to try and get the word out. Hope to see you all there, if you go to the bash, stop by and say whats up.
I guess the diary needs to be 300 words so I'm going to try and fill it with some other stuff.
If you have never been to a Bruin Bash, they're pretty fun. The food usually sucks, but there is usually all you can drink beer, they may have changed that though after the damage I did at the Vegas Bowl a couple years ago. : ). May also be a good idea to self-medicate BEFORE the game to prepare ourselves for the lack of preparation that Dorrell is surely to send our team up there with. The band and cheerleaders usually show up too. Anyway, it's $30 bucks to get in, and I believe you can pay at the door, or you can call UCLA. You can get the right number from the UCLA athletics website and click on "fan travel", from there just look for "Bruin Bash"
Sorry for all the nonsense, I just don't have anything else to write and I need to meet my 300 word minimum. 300 words exactly, phew!
EXTREME LAST MINUTE Arizona Tickets
To make a long story short, my dad had surgery this week and I thought he would be ok by today for me to go to the game, but hes not. So I have last minute Arizona tickets that I can't use.
Obviously they're for pick up only. I am up in the Santa Clarita Valley, and i'm willing to drive a little ways to meet someone.
The tickets are in section 307A Row 7 Seats 3 and 4.
Face value on the tickets were $36 and $5.50 convenience charge for a total of $41.50 each.
I am asking $60 for both if I have to drive anywhere. If I can meet in the Santa Clarita Valley I will take $50 for both.
Obviously this is time sensitive.
