Caldwell-Pope cleared to play.

Per Seth Emerson, the University of Georgia received good news today regarding the eligibility of the other player involved in the Columbus Parks and Rec scandal. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has been deemed eligible to play in the upcoming basketball season. This is a huge boost to the basketball team which will face a tough non-conference slate early in the season. Having Caldwell-Pope for those games could be the difference between a second consecutive NCAA Tourney berth and a year without post-season play.

Caleb King picked up by the Vikings

Well, looks like Caleb King will be going from the sticky heat of Georgia to the harsh cold of the Tundra Twin Cities. I hope a change of production reflects his change of scenery and climate, because King has talent. As I said in the Daily Norseman post, I think that the situation could be really positive for King in that he will get to work behind and learn from two motivated, hard-working tailbacks in AP and Gerhart. He will join fellow Dawg Asher Allen in Minnesota, and will likely start his career on the practice squad this fall.

Lets Talk UFAs

Now that the Lockout is officially over, I thought it would be interesting to reopen discussion on which players that went undrafted we think the Vikings should look at.  I remember a post like...

PG Charles Mann picks UGA

Union Grove PG Charles Mann committed to Georgia today. Mann is one of the top prospects in the state for 2012 and had received 24 offers, including one from the reigning National Champion UConn Huskies. I know that it is unofficially football season now that SEC Media Days have wrapped, but it is great news so I thought it was worth sharing. Go Dawgs!

Kevin Ware decommits from UCF

Lists Georgia and Louisville as his front-runners. Absurdity at its finest.

From the AJC: Here How can you not love this kid? He is already making a case to be one of my 5 favorite Dawgs that I will have a chance to see play live and he has not even enrolled in the University yet.

Murray Hurt

Relevant Quote: "Team sources say that Murray broke the ankle participating in an activity with teammates and friends on Saturday afternoon. Murray was rushed to team doctors after suffering the injury." University supposed to release news later today according to the article after Murray meets with trainers, but this is not the way this spring needed to go. Is it too late for AJ to come back?

Goal Line Stalker talks about return to Gridiron

"The two teams I would come back to play for are Minnesota or Atlanta," Walker said. "It would probably be Atlanta because that's home for me." I have no idea what to make of this, but the man says he ran a 4.38 40 last year (at age 47), and began a MMA fighting career in his mid 40s, so I wouldn't put anything past him.

A Hidden Lonnie Outlaw Update

"I heard some really good things about how well he’s doing over there," Ledford said of Outlaw, who is Marshall’s cousin. "The coaches tell me he’s gotten stronger and put on some weight. I think he’s up to 210 now. They say he’s improving every week." I found this little quote from his high school coach in an article about Nick Marshall, so I thought I'd throw it onto this blog since I remember there being a piece about Outlaw last February. While he can't play next year, it's hard not to get excited about a 6'6, 210 pound wideout whose last name is Outlaw.

Richt Channels Shakespeare in Pregame Speech

In the spirit of Henry V.   JEFF SCHULTZ   Oh that we now had here But one of those hundreds of other men, Who signed with another school than UGA.   MARK RICHT What's he that wishes so? That hack...

Vikings "balk" at Vincent Jackson's contract demands.

According to this update. But it means that the FO was looking into him.

UGA Catches a Break?

"The most attractive trait that LeMay possesses is one you cannot coach and that is a lightning quick, ultra smooth delivery," Luginbill told me. "He can get rid of the ball so quickly and he is extremely accurate. He possesses just adequate height, but he is well built and there is plenty of room for frame development. He could play any scheme; he’s not just a spread guy." Lemay also talks about how he plans to take an active role in recruiting and the article makes it seem like his primary recruiting target will be offensive linemen. Great news to wake up to on a Sunday.

Curran Drafted by the Titans

As the first Dawg picked in the draft in the late third round, I wish all the luck to Rennie in the pros.
