Stoops, Leach & voting

So here comes the political whining by Poops..... "Now we're in the mix with everybody and, with the way we played, you'd think ahead," Stoops said. "If you can't move us in front of Texas because they beat us, then you have to keep Texas Tech in front of Texas. If it's logical for one, it's logical for the other."

The entire article can be found at: : http://ncaafootball.fanhouse.com/2008/11/23/sunday-hangover-ou-oh-yeah/

If Stoops is saying he wants the polls to reflect Tech, then Texas, then OU......I could probably live with that. If he's going to put Tech before Texas, then OU is bringing up the rear. (Yes, pun intended.)

Leach said he voted for OU over Texas. Gee, there's a shocker coming from a Poops cronie. Any doubt Chuck Long, Mike Stoops, and his other fat ass...er, cronie Mangino voted for OU?!?!

Mack won't run up the score and Mack will publicly talk about the faults of the system, but won't technically "lobby" for Texas to be ahead of OU.

If OU wiggles its way into Miami, I'm going to puke. Can you imagine the Sooner fans? ("You - Texas - beat us and we still are better than you.")

Muschamp, Chizek .....hypothetically speaking

Let's suppose Muschamp leaves for a head coaching gig either this year or next year. Now suppose that Chizek says "I give up"...this year or next year (look at how bad Iowa State really is). They are actually taking a step backwards instead of progressing. The argument that the Big 12 is stronger only goes so far - if you've seen ISU play, it's clear the Baylor loss devastated them. Even games prior to Baylor they had a lot of mental breakdowns and setbacks.

Any chance Mack asks Chizek to return or Chizek says "hey Mack can I come home" ???

I don't think Chizek is the type of guy to quit, but ISU is bad....really bad. IF Chizek left, he would have to return as a coordinator somewhere if he ever wanted to try running a ship somewhere else eventually.

Would you lay out the "welcome home" mat or want Chizek to keep on moving?? Now if Muschamp does take a gig elsewhere and he is not groomed to take over for Mack, then I would take Chizek back in a heartbeat.

Muschamp and next year's Tech

Now that Fulmer is out at Tennesse, what's everyone's opinion on Muschamp leaving for Tennessee and SEC country? Tennessee would be a nice gig, esp. when Muschamp has SEC roots.

Next year's Tech - it will be fun to beat them in Austin and show them how to win with class. Harrell will be gone; I heard talk of Crabtree leaving for the NFL - isn't he a sophomore or was he redshirted? (don't you have to be out 3 yrs?) They lose a couple linemen as well don't they?

Leach was on Fox last night's BCS show and said something to the effect that Lubbocks fans and gameday environment is the best in the country. Um....apparently he hasn't been to the Georgia/Florida Cocktail party, the OSU/Michigan rally, LSU, Notre Dame and a host of other places. Austin is without question one of the best environments but since he always on the short end of the stick in Austin, I can see why he may not like Austin.

Finally will Leach finally make the jump to a higher profile school? Or should I say will a higher profile school make the jump to hire a goofball? He wanted the Miami gig and got skipped over. If they lose their stars it seems logical that Leach leaves Lubbock.

Vote for Colt

No this has nothing to do with the Presidential Election.

Ya'll need to vote for Colt for the Davey O'Brien Award (top QB) and the Heisman. I've been watching the voting on this one for a couple weeks and Colt sits on top but Tim Tebow has been gaining ground. To vote for Colt on this award go to http://www.daveyobrien.org/ and then register. You can vote once per day.

Now for the Heisman, the winning player will receive ONE vote that gets counted in with those that actually cast a vote for the Heisman. Currently Colt is also first for this award with 14% but for some idiotic stupid reason Javon Ringer also has 14%. So you all need to vote to push Colt past Javon. Go to http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/heisman/index and then click on the "2008 Vote Heisman" link or go straight to http://promo.espn.go.com/espn/contests/theheismanvote/

Just curious what everyone else thinks.......

(I am not speaking of one particular game and not even necessarily talking about this season.)

It seems to me that the Horns always play a much better game when it's an early game (11:00) or if it's a night game.

I have always kind of felt that Texas tends to have more struggles during the afternoon games (2:30). And, at least to me, the Horns always play their best if it's a night game.

I would be interested in seeing actual statistics of our won/loss record for the various time slots.....if that even exists.

B'que them piggies

I have no question and no real story to pass along other than I hope the Horns roast them piggies. Man I hate those redneck, trailer trash jack-holes. (I could see where you might think I was referring to OU - yes I hate them to, but for now I'm referring to the piggies of Bill Clinton-ville.)

I am confident the Horns will win - the piggies just don't stand a chance on paper nor by judging their previous outings. I would like to repeat Bama's butt-whoopin' on the piggies but as long as we win by a comfortable margin I am happy. A narrow victory by the Horns would make the piggie fans happy that they played competitively with a (top 10) Longhorns team and we can't have that.

The one small pleasure I do get is to not have to see that jackass, piece of shit Houston Nutt on the sidelines. (Although it would have been nice to shove a butt-whoopin' up his stinky slide.)

Feel free to add your disdain for the piggies..........

Hook 'em sign - South Florida at it again

The website is The Wizard of Odds and is about college football. They are showing the football poster of various programs every week. They have the South Florida posters if you scroll down just a little ways.

Here is the link....... http://www.thewizardofodds.blogspot.com/

Check out the various posters - players and fans using the Hook 'em sign.

Now I know it's foolish to think we can stop them from using the sign that Texas has actually TRADEMARKED, but you would think we could nail them for using it on the posters!!!

Who else do you root for?

Just curious what everyone else thinks or roots for.....I'm only referring to football.

Just wondering if you really don't give a rat's ass or are you like me and cheer for whatever team is playing the Land Thieves University ?!?!

I cheer for:

Texas Tech - only when playing OU

A&M - only when playing OU

Baylor - I don't mind Baylor....I actually would like to see them become a winning program again. I think Briles is the man for the job. Will they become an 8-4 kind of team every year? No, but I think a bowl game every 3-4 years is possible. I look for Baylor to sneak up on at least one team this year - I'm not predicting a victory, but they will definitely scare somebody.

OU - Not a single chance in hell will I ever root for OU. I would rather root for USC, Notre Dame, Ohio State, etc if OU ever met up with those teams. And that's not easy for me to say because I hate USC, ND, OSU.

Okie St - only when playing OU

I enjoy seeing Nebraska struggle (no disrespect to their great fans). Otherwise the North I don't cheer for any team but I don't have a strong hate for any of them either. But on the other hand it is nice watching Ron Prince and the Fightin' Manginos lose

Kansas vs Texas: CFN says....

Collegefootballnews.com has an article relating to the Big 12 North needing to win some games this year. They break down each team from the North detailing what their "Big Win" game would be and their "Must Win" game would be.

Here is the link: http://cfn.scout.com/2/767274.html ("Blog ... Big 12 North Must Win Games")

In a nutshell, this is a piece of what was written about Kansas: "The Texas game is also a big contest, but with the Longhorns traveling to Lawrence, the Hawks are sure to be favored in the matchup and should win."

Say what?!?!? Not only does this homer think Kansas is favored, but claims Kansas will win. Kansas will not win this game - our offense will score enough and Muschamp's defense will bring the smack down on KU.

Here is the main excerpt and the link follows below.....

I am so glad Perri-loser did not choose Texas.

A server at Kona Grill in Perkins Rowe told The Daily Reveille late Tuesday night that Perrilloux arrived at the restaurant 30 minutes after it closed Friday.

Perrilloux entered the bar and attempted to order drinks. After he was denied service, Perrilloux began to curse and use racial slurs, the server said.

A Kona Grill manager approached Perrilloux, who then cursed the manager. The server said Perrilloux was asked to leave. And the police were called to the restaurant, but Perrilloux had left by the time any officers arrived.

The server said LSU coach Les Miles called the restaurant Saturday to apologize for Perrilloux.

http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/ncaafootball/
