Turf Show Times Next step in this process???

Ok so we shored up the following positions this year through free agency Safety, Fullback, and Center. Then through the draft we got our Tackle hopefully for the next 10 years, a MLB, a Corner, and DT depth.

So with that being said and most of us agreeing this is a 2-3 year rebuilding project what is the next positions to be filled??? We can start in free agency next year... OLB- for Pisa, DE- for Little??? and then through the draft.. We will most likely be looking at the QB position (Bradford, Snead, or LeFevoure) in the 1st round if we are drafting high enough, if not then maybe the WR position in Dez Bryant. I also like DE- Greg Hardy from Ole Miss or George Selvie from S. Florida.. There are also a few stud DT's to be had.. I guess it also depends how Barron plays if we are going to be looking at another tackle after this year.. So do we (1)draft a QB and then move Bulger or  (2)keep him for another year and let the rookie sit and learn or (3) release Bulger and play Boller for a year while the kid sits???

Teams will be releasing guys soon post draft and some already have. I read where the Steelers have released LB-Larry Foote.. anybody interested in bringing in a good, tough LB???... 28 years old and was solid for the Steelers and is big solid LB.. I don't think you can have enough good LB., I know he played in the middle on their 3-4 but he can still play.. Is there anybody else that you guys see as potential signees for this year???. I still can't believe that Devaney doesn't want to bring in at least 1 vet WR...

Will we stand pat and do anything at all or make more moves if possible??

Just want some feedback here...

Turf Show Times LB- Peterson to Lions, Who's # 1 now ???

Reports are that Detroit has sent DT- Cory Redding and a 5th round pick to Seattle for LB- Julian Peterson. If this is correct then it looks like the Lions will not be in the market for Aaron Curry with the 1st overall pick. So it now comes down to Matthew Stafford and Jason Smith. They could take Smith and then maybe get lucky and have Sanchez fall to them at # 20 or take Freeman with their 33rd pick. I still don't think that Culpepper is going to be their opening day starter.. If they don't draft someone they could bring in Garcia or Leftwich or shock everybody and get in the Jay Cutler sweepstakes in a trade. Time will tell but Curry right now doesn't look like he will be going # 1... Secondly, a good thing we got Brown to play center, now the Seahawks have Colin Cole and Cory Redding in the middle and Kerney on the outside. They have a good LB corps with Leroy Hill and Tatupu. They have added Houshmandzadeh at the wideout and if they can keep Hasselback healthy and with RB's-Jones and Duckett, the hawks may be a team on the rise in the division. They do need to rebuild some of their O-lIne though and will probably address that in the draft.

Turf Show Times How do we fill the holes ???

So that we now have a few holes filled how do you guys suggest we fill the following???

Backup RB- does Deuce, Rudi Johnson, or Tatum Bell excite anybody or do we get someone through the draft say 4th or 5th round??? If we are going to run like the Giants we need more than 1 horse in the stable..

WR depth- Amani Toomer, Ike Hilliard, or Jerry Porter. I know we will draft one at some point but I think we need a vet with kids Avery, Burton and rookie...

Backup DT-  Shaun Cody or William Joseph... We need another backup to go with Ryan and Carriker...

LB- we need a MLB and an OLB... Witherspoon is set at 1 OLB... Do we want Draft and Pisa as our LB again..I think they are solid backups but I would like to see some new blood in there. I know in Spags D that LB is not real critical but if our line isn't real solid do we want Bartell, Atogwe, or Butler to lead the team in tackles??? If we get a LB in the draft thats great but we need 2 I think. Some people have said Culberson but is he the answer?? SO does Napoleon Harris, Derrick Brooks, or Angelo Crowell have anything left in the tank for 1 good year???

I think we are ok at CB but may draft in the late rounds.. and I guess Todd Johnson will backup at safety.

I wouldn't have minded bringing in Chris Carr becuz he can play some CB but would be great in the return game and we need help there for sure...

I am not for any of these moves but just want to know what Rams Nation is thinking when it comes to filling out the roster...

Turf Show Times Browns Cut Starting RT- Kevin Shaffer

The Browns just cut starting RT- Kevin Shaffer instead of paying him a roster bonus.  He is 6'-5" and 315 and just turned 29 yrs. old. He started 15 games last year and 86 total games over 7 seasons. The Browns may try and bring him back for less money. I knew this was going to happen sooner or later, teams are going to start dumping guys becuz of roster bonuses being due, just like we are with Torry. Does anybody think we take a flyer on this guy who has started at RT for 7 years and is in his prime????

If we do this it could free us up to take Curry at # 2 and then get a WR in the 2nd and then get a D-tackle or backup RB in the 3rd...

If this scenario played out and we had the O-Line in place, say Curry goes to the Lions first, then would we go with Crabtree or Raji?? Just throwing some ideas out there...

There maybe more guys come on the market before the draft... Also what if everybody's future tackle-(not mine) J. Smith goes # 1 to the Lions, then what do we, go with Monroe or Curry??? I just want some feedback on these possibilities...

Turf Show Times What to do on "O" ???

Is anybody scared at the idea of having the following O-Line????

Barron at LT,  Greco at LG,  Brown at C, Incognito at RG, and Bell at RT...

that is the latest proposal by Devaney but I doubt it will happen.

We will have a new RT via the draft and then Bell will move back to RG and Greco I hope will win the LG spot over Incognito... I

Barron at LT, Greco at LG, Brown at C, Bell at RG, and Rookie at RT..

am worried about our depth though.. Romberg is gone and Goldberg was visiting Cleveland... That would leave us Incognito, Schuening, and Setterstrom if they decide to bring him back...

Hopefully McMichael will come back happy and be used..But  I think we need a better backup at TE  besides Becht and Klopfenstein... anyone agree???

We will have Avery at one WR but we need to draft another WR in the 2nd or 3rd and maybe bring on a vet to help out the kids... Burton will be ok with Looker..

I guess we are brining in Frerotte at QB to backup Bulger..

Karney is good at FB.

We need to get a solid backup for Jackson.... Carriker was talking about Deuce McCallister today as a possiblity or Warrick Dunn... anybody have any other suggestions as a backup... I don't know what would be available in the later rounds... Would anybody draft Ian Johnson, Tyrell Sutton, or Arian Foster in the late rounds...???

Give me your suggestions....

Turf Show Times What to do on D ????

What are your guys feelings on the DT position ??? I mean after Carriker and Ryan we don't have much and I don't think Ryan is all that great ??? Do you feel happy with the D line- Little, Carriker, Ryan, and Long... Once Little is done do we think about moving Carriker back to the end??? I am not suggesting just asking opinion... I think Brace, Moala, Marks will be gone by the time we want to hit on a DT.. So that leaves us DT-Baker maybe in the 5th or 6th...

The LB corps isn't in great shape either.. Witherspoon goes back outside, right now probably Draft in the middle, and Pisa outside. Now I know we will draft a LB or 2 but there isn't much there besides Witherspoon at teh moment.. To me Pisa and Draft are solid backups but thats about it.. I would love Curry outside but then what do we do inside or vice versa. If we put him at MLB then who plays outside??? They say that in Spags "D" that the LB isn't that important that it is the front four and the back four.. If we don't get Curry at # 2 then we are looking at maybe OLB-English- if he is there, OLB-Sintim,OLB-Mathews in the 2nd round but do we take WR in the 2nd round... if we wait until the 3rd then we are looking at ILB-McKillop or ILB- Beckwith...

So I like Bartell, Atogwe, and Butler but who is in the other slot at CB??? Is it Justin King who looked promising but was out all of last season, is it Tye Hill ???, what about Jason Craft, or Jonathan Wade??? or do we draft a CB say in the 4th to compete with these guys. Or do we go with what we got this year and address that position high in the draft next year with LB,DE, and DT ??? I think we have too many needs to get a CB too early..

So give me some feedback... I think Spags will coach em up but we have alot of ???  backup DT, 2 - LB spots and 1 CB spot.....

Turf Show Times Rams release Pace....

They finally did what we all knew was coming.. So now do they select a tackle at # 2???  I think Monroe is more ready to play than Jason Smith but Smith may have more of an upside. Monroe was able to keep another player at Virginia at guard  while in college and now that player is a starting tackle in the NFL.  The thing about Smith is that he played in the spread offense at Baylor. I have been to some Baylor games and seen them on TV and he is good but he struggles with a strong end rusher. He also struggled at the combine with a good end rusher and didn't do all the drills at his pro day becuase once again he struggles with an end rusher... Are you starting to see the picture. If we take Smith we would have to put him at right and probably move Barron to left. Who wants to see that????  So if we take a tackle take Monroe but he has had some knee injuries. So I still say you take Curry at # 2 and take the best tackle available in the 2nd round. There will be 1 or 2 guys still there, Hey Jason Brown is a stud center and he was a 4th round pick, so there is still some quality there and if they have to play right tackle for a year so be it and then next year get another tackle either in free agency or through the draft. I know it all starts with the line but I think that much of Curry that I think he is too good to pass up and none of the tackles availabe are all that great to take at # 2....
