Gang Green Nation Satire: Tebow to play RT; Hunter cut

Just heard over the grapevine that this trade isn't as bad as it originally looks. For starters, Mike and Rex think the Pats want him to help their locker room and play instead of Edelman (or however you spell it).

Secondly, it is true that Hunter has been cut and Tebow will be the starting RT in 2012 protecting Sanchez.

Luckily, Tebow will also play backup QB, FS, 3rd down blitz specialist; special teams, punter, locker room help, religious swami, make lots of endorsements in NY, run the wildcat, leave tickets for Newt Gingrich and Chuck Norris; have Sanchez look over his shoulder and do a few TV ready prayer sessions after a few touchdowns he makes recovering a Sanchez fumble and running into the endzone.

New reports coming in that sound serious... Tebow to play RB and TE also. No really, that one I actually heard someone say on WFAN.

Posting and Toasting The Mighty Lin

Ladies & Gents... may I present The Mighty Lin.

He's the real deal for us; the NY Knickerbockers finally have their starting PG and we are going to be a wicked team for the next 5-10 years. Lin reminds me soooo much of Iverson. Slightly less athletic, bit more field general skills. Amazing what a penetrating point guard does to the (no)D'antoni offense. Makes other's around him better (Knicks are starting to play some serious D - gonna start losing the (no)D'. Congrats to Lin and us!

Viva Lin!

Gang Green Nation it's the end of the world as we know it

It' s been said & thought before, but I just needed to write something down. It's been 31 years of this shite for me. What I see (thought rushed & angry eyes) - not just based on denver game (rare air, small practice time; monday game, et al):

Ryan: Good coach, will get better with time I believe. He's a better competitor than head coach though at this point I feel. Some plays to me (albeit not a football playback wizard) seem more bravado or 'fear' based as opposed to just get some points and move he ball downfield. I don't feel a sense of field position or thinking 3, 4, 5 plays ahead (like a chess player). Ryan's a street puncher. You hit me, I hit you back. Is that a general or a sergeant's mentality? I still don't see a amazingly new or crazy defense game though. I wanted to see something

Shitholer: Nough said. Must go, if only to get fresh air. Sanchez needs mentors, mentors, mentors. On the playcalling.... yes, he can only call what might work with this literally offensive line & possible turnovers, but... he's ultra conservative, super redundant, the playbook almost seems small compared to the great teams (which we should be), rarely tries new wrinkles, doesn't call downfield plays & doesn't play to Sanchez' strengths. He plays not to lose.

Sanchez: Taking a beating. Getting his ass handed to him. Keeps getting up. I feel bad for him when I see his eyes roll up in his head when he takes a helmet to the chest. Looks like it hurts. Thanks Wayne Hunter! (smiley face)

I like Sanchez and think he too will get better, ala Ryan. He's doing better this year than his 2 previous, all while being slammed into the ground all day like a dog toy. It's hard to gage a QB on his back. Is he the next Montana?; no. He's Chad Pennington on 'roids. He's good enough to get to 2 AFC championships (which granted can be said about Ryan & Shitholer, but Sanchise is on the field). I don't believe there's any need for a new QB. He's the future and if he had more time or wasn't shell shocked, he'll be a top 10 QB. I think most of his flaws are really based on the line and teaching. Not taking blame off him, but he's still a really young QB.

Backup QB: Need a new one. Maybe a McNabb, Campbell, next year? Need to give Sanchez more mentors and someone that could win a game if Sanchez went down. Brunell will not win a game start to finish.

WR: More or less fine.

RB: Greene, I can go another year with him. Platoon with a draft pick perhaps. McKnight, better hold on to that ball bitch I don't care how you zag or where the hell you zig.

OL: Hunter must go. Brick??? Have you seen him? I think it's bump in the road. Otherwise, underwhelming overall, but I think replacing Hunter is one quick fix for next year. The OL can get better relatively quickly.

TE: Is Keller not creating space or Sanhcez can't see him or Shotty doesn't call or is he always covered so utterly? There's unused talent in Keller and maybe someone can tell me why. I cannot see it. I think it's a combination of things and opponents know Keller's good. A nice 2nd TE would be cool; becoming a 2 TE league anyway.

Special Teams: Starting to feel pedestrian. Fumble much? Cromartie, hey, thanks for taking 4 seconds and losing 6 yards. Good one. I appreciate bravado, I really do, but when works, right? lol

Defense: Overall good, not great. Needs S (yes, I know, I know),  passrusher (I know.) Damn, that Revis is good. HOF good.

Overall we need a OL & S and some type of pass rushed. 3 positions, some good 'luck', some new blood, another year of learning, easier schedule and not too many injuries and I think the future will be fine. I think the Jets are smart enough to see what is happening, even if not said publicly and will fix things (or at least attempt to!).

Next year, in NY/NJ, the Jets win the Superbowl. You heard it here first. I'm trying to stay somehow positive, but I don't think we're that far away.

Blueshirt Banter DRURY & WOLSKI BUYOUT

Just saw this article: http://www.nyrangersblog.com/ and it looks like Wolski is being bought out.

But... on the better side... here on the street, we have news that Drury is next after Wolski to be bought out.

Pretty good sources, not online yet, heard it from some employees and just thought I heard something on the radio.

Looks good. So, Calli is the new Captain and well deserved; and we have some more spots opening up.

Amazin' Avenue Remove the Head and the Body is Dead

Reading about the Wilpon's and the mess that is the Mets (and not in a good 1962 or 1982 way) is just so evident that ALL problems with our team is the Wilpon's. They are not good owner's (spending $ on payroll a good team does not make) and considering his held-back venom on Carlos Beltran shows me that he isn't as cuddly and nice as he comes across. Despite what Madoff says.

Everything that happens in a company or a team is from the person who has the $ and capital to control. He/she hires (unless they are an absentee owner; another issue) those that make 'baseball' decisions; decides where the $ goes (farm, scouting, payroll, infrastructure, publicity, blah blah.)

I think we are often lead to believe that if someone is rich &/or owns a company, let's say, must be intelligent or knowledgeable about their pursuits. In reality; like what the Wilpon's do, is run multiple businesses. If one, two fail, there are still 2, 3 other investments you control. Wilpon may love baseball, but he has no clue what it entails. He also has less business sense overall than one would expect.

In short, the Mets will never have continued success under the Wilpon's. There will be moments when things align; good coach, players having careers years, unexpected rookie's; but no steady ship. If Wilpon doesn't go (and his ilk) we will continue to go through each season needing many improbable things to happen in order just to win the National League pennant.

Oh yeah, don't fucking trade Reyes.

Gang Green Nation let's get our goddam snacks

After 31 years of mostly misery, this may be our finest shining moment. AFC Championship deuced. Pitt exhausted from Ravens beating. Our Jets seemingly getting better. Sanchez posting TD's. Running backs more fresh then RM. Can barely speak or write. #90 Byrd, still playing the game. Ellis, it's been a long time. If we can dominantly defeat England, then hell... we can make it anymore. Get ready for Dallas. We're not losing. Thanks Rex. Now let's get some goddam midnight snacks!

Gang Green Nation LT II $

The word out here is that LT is getting 5.2 million dollars for 2 years. Not quite what I would have given him, considering his numbers have dropped quite low. I would have liked to keep TJ over LT. But, it certainly is not a bad signing. I think he takes over for Thomas, not Washington. This should be an interesting year coming up. D Sharper would be a nice addition before the lockout.
