Jazzy, I know this has come up before (I noticed you did change it a bit which is what made me think about it).  However, I think its time for something new.  Something that isn't a inside joke pointed at Max Hall and BYU.  It's a new dawn for the U and "classless" joke or no joke doesn't really translate anymore... does it?  Anyone else have any thoughts on the matter?  Ideas?

A decent running game... say 150 + per game and a solid O line. I'd like that to go please.

UTAH vs. USC at the Coliseum:  This game will tell us all we need to know right out of the gates.

UTAH vs BYU: For all the right reasons! 

BYU vs. TEXAS:  I live in Austin and if TEXAS looses this game I'll drink free all season!

UTAH vs CAL: My house is divided here and we'll be at AT&T Park for the game I love me some SF!

UTAH vs. PITT:  1. Because it's not the biggest game on our schedule and 2. it's always nice to get a sweep in a home and home during a season no?

UTAH vs OSU: Always good for an all out football brawl!

ASU at home:  Not sure why... it's ASU and I just want to beat the new uniforms I guess?

UTAH vs. UA: This one is going to be interesting.... not sure what to make of it, there QB is a beast and reminds me of the Freedom Bowl.

I'm sure you're all as tired of watching the Utes dismantle the lower half of the Mtn West as I am. Now, finally the season has arrived.  We are where I'd thought we'd be from the start and in better shape that I could have imagined.  Our 2's look good and have been getting plenty of work experience.  Wynn is the MAN, Cain looks great... I'm always happy to see him get good rep's, and Shaky is simply Amazing at times!  I'm not sure AF will be able to hang with us this year and I predict a moderate blow out (By this years output) of 21 points. I say this because we will score early and often and AF will have to abandon the run for the pass to keep pace.  TCU is also what I'd thought they'd be and we will have our hands full... I think they are beatable but we can drop this game too.  Overall this game is too close to call that's why I am so excited for it!  ND will be a quality win in the Valhalla of football lore (Quality only in terms of setting and symbology, not the team).  SDSU will be a good game but we'll blow them out in the 2nd and third Q as well, and BYU is the Cherry on Top an asskicking sunday!  I think we all know what will happen if we win out and I think it's reasonable to think we may not get past TCU.... BUT if we do.... that will be a DREAM path to another BCS game and hello P-12 souther Div. Champs 2011!

AF... They should crack the top 25 this week.  WYO played them tough this week.  If our D shows up, and our O shows up, Utah could win by three TD's. 

TCU... SMU ran the ball up the middle on that vaunted D and the secondary (FS & SS) looked a bit soft.... that is good news for the Utes.  They looked human and beatable!  Granted they'll make adjustments but it took the shine off.  Now more than ever I feel that by the time they get to us it going to be a fair fight.  That being said you've got to give the advantage to UTAH because this rumble is in our house.  I wouldn't have said that last week. I thought this was the game we lost on root to a 11-1 mark.  Now it seems we could be on our way to an 12-0 mark and our last BCS game as Non-AQ.  Keep-n the dream alive! 

ND... They look to be demoralized.  I'm sad to say they will be nowhere near the Top 25 when we get there. Hell, ISU may be a better team. At least we'll get to win under the watchful eye of touchdown Jesus.

Something NEW:  

The Pac-12 north: Oregon will be the team to beat.  CU sucks! There is just nothing nice I can say.  OSU will be strong... kind of like AF... always a hard out, and Washington and WSU are on par with CU. Utah will be in the hunt for the north title right off the bat.  Utah, Oregon, and OSU up top Wash, WSU, and CU down below.  I like our chances next year to be a contender.

Something BLUE:  

BYU "Blows!" it's way into independence.  LOVE IT!  They'll loose to Nevada too.  We'll never have to pull for that team to win a game ever again!  

Something U:

Do you love this years team?!  Sweet baby Jesus...I do.  Our No-Name D is young, scrappy, and putting it together.  I can only hope coach Whitt uses Cain effectively after Wynn come back. Having him just sit on the bench seems like such a waist.... and, Griff looks like he's got some vision and some wheels.  No need to ever see Asiada in the wildcat ever again (No offense but there is only so much he can do in that formation compared to having a starting QB and your #3 QB running it). 

Still have some things to clean up.  Like:  The Offense giving up and away points.  That would be nice, no?  

Good news:  No Blocked punts!  Special Teams had a good game.  Cain goes 20 of 23 for 248 and 3 TD's.  

SoSo News: 6 penalties for 65 yards... not to bad. 

Bad news:  3 lost fumbles, 6-12 on third down (against the LOBOS)

AF is now the target looking ahead.

CSU is CSU.

WYO looks to be demoralized.

ISU is the Baylor of the BIG 12 North (At least they're in a AQ conference)

Are you kidding me?! The D showed up in a big way tonight!  Wynn wasn't the same after he got hit before the INT. I think all of our questions got answered tonight!  The O line is what we thought they were and D is more than people thought they be!  I for one am proud!!  The Offense will pull it together... But what was more important is that the D is solid and now has 6 games to improve! 

This year could be a lot like the 2008-09 sugar bowl year...

The cathartic experience of the past few weeks on BLOCK U have all but left me somewhat word-less.  I think that's true for most of us.  It's been a little quite around here.  Jazzy is now posting about lip hair, the wolfman is MIA, MeanBob was last seen twirling circles in his kilt preparing his game day Red Tailed Vision Quest.  Jesus in a jumpsuit people Crimson & Gambit Ute have been left to feast on scraps!  Poor bastards...

All this leads me to the conclusion that we've said all there is to say, found all there is to find, and now it's time to buy some bratwourst, collect your fellow fanatics, and get it on!

I for one am all out of hyperbolic hyperbole (Can you say that?).  

This GAME is going to be AWEsome!  (I still say we we score 14 in the 1st Q.)

I just have an feeling the true freshman gets a PICK 6 in the 1st Q after PITT decides to pick on him.  I think we get good pressure on the QB, he miss fires as he gets thumped, and the true freshman gets a beautiful duck under glass with no one between him and end zone. The house comes down and PITT realizes they're in for a LONG DUCK DONG kind-a night. To top it off UTAH scores on their first possession after a PITT punt.

Asiata & WideIII vs PITT's run game

WIDEIII is a candidate for the Doake Walker award this year and Asiata is a "Put my cleats square in the middle of your chest" BEAST!  Can PITT stop our dynamic duo of clock crushing pain? Doubt it.  It's these two 1,000 yard rushers are preparing our D and thats a GOOD thing y'all. Take some Pride yeee of little faith.  I am  tired of our fans and the media's verbal masterbation... mamby-pamby... "There so talented", "How are we going to stop them... we don't have any linebackers"...  (Lot's of inappropriate swearing and chest pounding not suitable for this blog)...  Bama had all that and a poll to shove too...

I'm not sure why but I am more excited about this year than any other year I can remember.... Maybe it's the prospect of dominating the MTW and leaving with one last title... Maybe it's a residual PAC-12 high... Maybe it's getting a great game right off the bat.... the potential of this Offense...  the coaching staff... getting to end it all with BYU at home!!!! Perhaps it's all the above.  All I know for sure is that I'm having a hard time focusing on much else.  I wake up hoping there will be a new story with new information, or a prediction from some know it all sports guru that has the UTES as a sleeper... ANYTHING! I want this season as bad as Ralphie wants a Red Ridder BBgun!  It gotten to the point I'm starting to see Jazzy, MeanBob, and the Wolfman as spirit guides sent to help me through the dessert that is July and August... But to be honest they're more like crack dealers ... "Hey man got some info, got a story, latest injury report, new slant on the game... good stuff man, good stuff... you want some?"  YES!!!!  Yes I do... Oh, I'm such a junkie. 

Get here already!  

Utah is tied with West Virginia for #24. TCU comes in at #7 and BSU @ #5.  Looks like we'll be in the top 20 after the PITT victory.  By the time we hit TCU and the heart of the season I expect we'll be 8-0, it should be a top 10 game! By that time we'll know where the LB's and defense stands and give TCU all they can handle.... looks to be another special year GO UTES! 

Pitt has a running back! So what?  Are you really that worried? in 2004 they had a receiver no one could stop remember?   As I remember Larry Fitzgerald was a NON factor in the Fiesta Bowl.  But you gotta talk about something right?  The reality is Pitt comes in with a new QB.... Translation: They will be "Keeping it simple"  on O.  Not exactly what you want when facing the Utes and Whittingham.  Translation: if Pitt's QB can't pass the ball effectively "It's going to be a long day".  Personally, I see this game as MONUMENTAL for the Utes, their season, and the beginning of their PAC-12 run! In a way it's fitting that it would come against Pitt. 

Give Whittingham a week to game plan he's A+, give him a month to game plan and he's unstoppable!  Give him 9 months to brake you, your team, and your coaching staff down... Game over. 

NO WAY do we loose this game!  

Good luck PITT y'all are going to need it... perhaps if you living right you can stop by BYU and they can give you some magic coins before the game?
