JAT #37 "We don't talk, we produce!" - Rodney Harrison
Hello and Welcome! to PatsPulpit JAT#37.
This is a thread for anyone who would like to enjoy some pleasant conversation that may or may not be football related. This is a place where some of us can get to know each other a little bit better, and on a slightly different level than other places on the site. A thread that may contain at times humorous dialogue, quotes, pictures, or anything else that might entertain. Remember to have a good time! But also please remember to keep it clean.
Red this thread, so it stays atop the most rec'd fanposts. Unrec it when another thread is made.
Below is a guide to certain slang, lingo, nicknames, or any kind of term that we have coined here at the Pulpit.

A Few Questions for the PatsPulpit Congregation
My intent for this fanpost is not to write an opinion article featuring my own thoughts but rather to pose a few questions to the multitude of intelligent, football-savvy people that regularly peruse this wonderful site. My hope is that some of you may be able to give me some answers to some things that I have been wondering about during the course of the last week or so. Another hope that I have is that we may have some discussion, or debate, about some of these issues in the comments section below.
Bold Predictions from a Patriots Homer.
Here are some “Bold Predictions” for the 2011 NFL Season, if we have one, from an admitted Patriots homer.
If you are NOT a fan of the New England Patriots you will probably not like what I have to say, so don’t continue reading and definitely don’t troll me saying I’m a homer and these predictions are unrealistic. I will be supporting my predictions with some logical evidence to allow them to hold some weight; however I don’t expect them to be believable to everyone.
1. The Patriots will get the “monkey off of their backs” and win a playoff game this year. In fact, book it; they will win the super bowl. I know that this may seem excessively “bold” or “homeristic” but it’s supposed to, read the title of this article.
The Patriots have lost their last 3 playoff games in a row. They also haven’t even looked very good while doing it. Their offense while dominant in the regular season the last few years has faltered in the playoffs. The defense hasn’t been able to stop the run, specifically in the Ravens playoff game, or even in the couple games where they did pretty well they haven’t been able to do enough in clutch situations to win the game for a bad offense, namely the SuperBowl and the most recent Jets playoff loss. Not that they played poorly. In the super bowl against the Giants they only allowed 17 points. Just that they didn’t do enough in the clutch to win the game for a team that was struggling mightily on offense. For example, in the SuperBowl against the Giants after the offense went on a late game drive to put the team up 14-10 the defense allowed the helmet catch, failed to catch two would-be game-sealing INTs, and ultimately allowed the game-winning TD drive. Now these all sound like reasons why the Patriots wouldn’t win the SuperBowl or maybe even a playoff game this year right? Wrong!

7 Round Pats Mock
Russ Lande produced a 7 round mock draft, and Mike Reiss comments on his selections for the Patriots.
UCONN QB Trick Shot Vid
Totally unrelated to Patriots football, but as football fans traverse this website I thought some of you might enjoy this little vid. It's a UCONN backup QB performing some ridiculous trick shots throwin the football.
Team's kicking away from Tate
Reiss on the "Tate Factor" in the return game.
Aaron Hernandez Football Journey
Interesting piece on Reiss's blog about our dynamic rookie TE. I'm actually from Southington CT, which borders Bristol, which is where Aaron Hernandez is from. So this was very interesting to me. He also grew up a Pats fan. Any other CT Pats fans may find this interesting.
Bruschi Praises Moss
When he is gone, no longer playing for the Patriots, we won't see catches by anyone -- whether it's a draft pick or someone else they bring in -- like he made last week against Darrelle Revis. No one will be making catches like we saw Sunday -- in the middle of three Bills defenders, teammate Brandon Tate and an official -- for a touchdown. It's not something that should be taken for granted. What we're seeing, what we're witnessing, is something that no receiver will ever do again in New England.
New England FanBase Guilty of Over-Scrutinizing ?
Not sure if over-scrutizing is actually correct grammar or not. But I think you guys know what I'm getting at.
Do we as New England Patriots fans sometimes take such a hard look at our on franchise, disecting our strengths and weaknesses, that we sometimes lose sight of the bigger picture ?
Random Thoughts/Musings After Leigh Bodden News
Alright everyone, long time reader, first time poster here. I'm not intending this to be any kind of formal article or anything, just some of my thoughts. Hopefully it can maybe spark some discussion or something.
