Brian Russell gone?
My argument about Russell is: If he is one of the worst safeties in the league, why don't the Seahawks even try to replace him in the offseason with one of the numerous available inexpensive, mediocre safeties?
Word is Michael Huff, the former 7th pick of the 06 draft will soon be available. Apparently, though not great, he's solid, and if Russell is so bad Huff would be a big upgrade, wouldn't he?
With an entirely new, "attacking" defensive coaching staff who are desperately trying to upgrade the defense and "the worst safety in the NFL" at a prime attack position, surely we should expect to see Huff or someone else of his caliber (or better!) replace Russell, shouldn't we?

Power running game to win the Superbowl??
One thing about this game was obvious and gives me great concern about the future of the Seahawks.
I don't see any power running games winning the Superbowl since the Dolphins in the 70's. Mora recently said that he wants to make a running team that can run even when the defense has eight in the box, but that just doesn't work in the playoffs. Both of these teams today had offensive success pretty much only passing. Without a great passing game neither one of these teams would have been able to do anything. Great defenses stop great running games, but they don't stop great passing games. The great passing game is King of the NFL.
Unless Mora is just talking run and is really going to create a power passing game, how in the F is he doing to succeed??

Tampa 2 no longer effective?
What about this? From:
http://www.nfl.com/kickoff/story?id=09000d5d8020c007&template=with-video&confirm=true
So, the Tampa 2 scheme is getting ready for a big change in the NFL this season. One team that regularly gets described as a "Tampa 2" team hardly ever plays the coverage anymore. After I watch some of the late-season game tapes from 2006, I asked the coach what happened to his famous coverage. "Can't play it anymore," he said. "It lost its competitive edge from overuse."
Sounds to me like the Tampa 2 is being phased out around the league as a core defense.
