Hey guys, kind of a weird question, but for a project in school I really wanted to do a logo/identity design.

I was thinking it would be really neat if I took the angle of what I would pick to be the name/brand/logo for the Hartford Whaler organization when it first moved to Carolina, assuming that it wasn't the "Hurricanes". So, I've been trying to put together different ideas and things that represent North Carolina and may have been selected as our team identity, but I thought I would get some feedback from other people.

A lot of the things that I tend to think of when I think of North Carolina do not translate well to a sport's organization or have already been used/conflict with other franchises either in the area or in the league. Not sure if I just have a very slim view or if there's really nothing else that would fit quite as well.

But anyway, what do you think when you think of "North Carolina" and if not the "Hurricanes", what team could you cheer for?
