The Phinsider IF FISHER CHOOSES RAMS OVER DOLPHINS,

then he can't handle the "pressure" of a football team. At least Sparano kept his team together after 8 games. Other teams would have been fighting amongst themselves. He kept his players in line and got them back on the road to winning. I've been reading so many stories that I honestly don't know where I read this - it could have even been one of your posts! But Fisher may choose St Louis over Miami because of the QB situation and how much money they have to spend on players. To me, some of these "top" choices to choose from want everything in front of them and then they claim victory. I could do that. So could you. I hope I explained my feelings well. Not sure if I stated my case properly or not but it just seems that they want everything and then they get the credit. Sparano started over from scratch. Put aside your hate and give him some credit. Well, that's my opinion.

The Phinsider WHAT HAPPENED?

I don't get it.  What am I missing?  Re:  San Francisco at Detroit.  SF coach excitedly shook hands with loser Det coach and, I guess, according to what they (TV pundifs said) "pushed" Schwartz a little too hard on the back instead of a pat.  Was that it?  Then Schwartz comes after Harbaugh all the way to the tunnel because both teams share one tunnel.  What happened guys?  This made the news - something else happened - what was it.  Thanks guys.

Wow. I can't wait for the season. I REALLY want to see what we missed out on. I'm sure Bush will be great with a change of scenery. Being in NO when he was picked, he was billed as their savior. But Sproles along side of Ingram makes for an interesting backfield. Just saying.

The Phinsider BREAKING NEWS . . . UNLESS IT'S SOMEWHERE ELSE ON THIS SITE

Chad Johnson (Occhiochinco - spelling?) was traded by Cinncinati to NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS!!!!!

See Sporting News website, Bleacher Report, etc. . . . . .

Of all the gin joints to be traded to - they couldn't trade him to the NFC.  No, he has to be traded to the Patriots.  I just saw the headline.  Kindly do not ask what the Bengals got in return.  I looked BRIEFLY for the topic in the fan posts and didn't see anything similar so if this is a duplicate, my apologies but I wanted to get this "wonderful" news out.  I'm sure you guys saw it anyway.

The Phinsider Tell me about Brandon Marshall

I read, I believe it was on this website, that Marshall has one touchdown pass.  Is that correct?  Now, I'm NOT certain about this statistic, and, like I said, I BELIEVE it was on this site, but someone please educate me into why we would sign someone like Marshall and then give him only one TD pass.  Where could I find his stats?  If you (generally speaking) have them, please post them, like how many passes he caught, etc - you know.  Or if they are someone else under another post, please advise me.  Thank you.  I just don't understand this.  Isn't this what we wanted - a big-time receiver to throw to?  Well, what's going on?  I can't see the games up here (in New York) - only when they play the Jets.  Thanks again.

The Phinsider WAKE VIDEO?

Sorry if this was posted and replied to elsewhere but everyone is talking (and why not?) about Wake's performance on his sacks and pressure.  Where do you recommend I search for a video on this?  Sometimes on Miami's different websites, I may see a video on someone but with all the talk of Wake, I haven't seen anything and I very surprised at this.  We even saw Smith's interception during preseason last year on New Orleans.  Thanks.

The Phinsider THE GANGS OF NEW YORK

And they truly are.  It was reported this morning by talk show host John Gambling (710 AM) that the Jets receivers would instruct Sanchez to throw over their heads in her direction so they could "talk" to her.  The whole team was doing this.  The first article is from the N.Y. Post - the second website from the News.  These players have no class.  It doesn't matter how good looking you are - you don't act like that when you're practicing or when you're in the locker room.  If they can't act properly, then close the locker room doors to women completely.  When these women complain, tell them it's for their own good, that your men just won't behave and they will get an interview after the men are dressed in another room where other newspapermen could be - like a big conference room.  Because this is disgusting and I hope the Dolphins NEVER act this way.

Jets flagged making passes at hot reporter

Last Updated: 5:59 AM, September 13, 2010

<!-- context: -->

Talk about offensive lines!

Jet head coach Rex Ryan, one of his as sistants and some of the team's players are being probed for unsportsman like conduct against a sexy female reporter after they allegedly pes tered her with goofy, on-field antics and locker-room catcalls.

NFL and team officials yesterday said they were in vestigating re ports the Jets made suggestive comments to knockout TV correspondent Ines Sainz -- who calls herself "the hottest sports reporter in Mexico" -- during and after a weekend practice at their Florham Park, NJ, facility.

Sainz, a bombshell blond reporter for TV Azteca, was at the Jets' practice Saturday to interview quarter back Mark San chez.

During the portion of practice open to the media, Ryan and defensive-backs coach Dennis Thurman purposely overthrew passes so they would land near Sainz, she said.

Later, during a locker-room availability, several players allegedly hooted and hollered when Sainz walked in.

She later tweeted she was "dying of embarrassment."

Red-faced team execs said in a statement, "The New York Jets believe that reporters have a job to do, and it is our obligation to provide them with proper and professional access.

"[Team owner] Woody Johnson spoke with Ines Sainz of TV Azteca today to discuss the time she spent covering the team yesterday. He stressed to Ines that he expects all members of the Jets organization to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times."

Last night, the team said Joanne Gerstner, of the Association for Women in Sports Media, had spoken with Jet General Manager Mike Tannenbaum, and also has contacted the NFL.

"We are working with that organization to schedule an educational and awareness session with the team," said Jet spokesman Bruce Speight.

"And also, the matter was addressed during a team meeting tonight."

Sainz posted a picture on Twitter of herself at the practice and, apparently to silence any critics, said she was not "inappropriately dressed."

She had roamed the sidelines in tight jeans, high heels and a low-cut blouse as footballs spiraled in her direction.

A bikini-clad Sainz has been featured in numerous photo spreads.

The Phinsider I HAVE A HEAVY QUESTION RE: PAT WHITE

What exactly is the problem with Whtie?  And if you just don't like him, please don't put in your bias.  You know, I feel this is Miami's fault from the very beginning.  They drafted him ONLY for one purpose, for that "wildcat" formation and then they even made it their full trademark, instead of using it once in a blue moon.  And how many times did we all see Henne inside the opponents' 10 yard line and then White gets called in to run one play and Henne loses his rhythm.  I must tell you, I got to a point where I couldn't stand that stupid wildcat anymore.  How many times did we see one or two yards gained and then back to the regular type of offense.  It made me sick.  THAT'S why White was drafted - a TOTALLY WASTED #2 pick - a prime pick.  Oh, how many players did we pass up for this!   And why can't White just settle down and pretend that he's back at West Virginia.  He was good there.  What happened?  What else can he do?  Coach Sparano said he's not moving anywhere else which is a shame because maybe he could fly as KR.  I feel bad for him because he didn't really get a shot.  He's too tense - it's almost like he's being asked to be the number one QB when he's only required to throw it to Dolphin players, not the opposition.  What say you?  Oh, and thank you for being patient with me and my complain and agrrevation.

The Phinsider Fins sign vet G Randy Thomas

This was just posted in the website below less than one-half hour ago.  Gee, with this signing, it's really a bad sign of our OL.  Just last month, we seemed to be solid but now super-sub Nate Garner is going to be out for no less than 2 months and there were other situations that were mentioned in other stories about competition and lack of experience, etc., etc.

The Phinsider NO PRACTICING IN THE RAIN?

I was under the impression that the "bubble" was used for SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS/LIGHTENING.  I didn't realize that a little bit of rain makes them practice in a dome.  Even high school players practice in the rain.  What the hell is going on here?  There comes a time when they will play in the rain and snow and what are they going to do? - tell the imposing team "we don't play when it rains."  It was a horrible game.  The Dolphins should have lost by at least 2 TDs.  Yes, there were several players that I enjoyed seeing and they made individual plays but as a whole, I'm disappointed.  I KNOW it's a practice game and it showed.  I just hope this is not a sign of the regular season.  I read the story below - that's why I feel the way I do.  I am over-reacting?  Please feel free to correct me.

The Phinsider Basic info about Micah Johnson

He was projected as a 7th rounder / UDFA this past spring.  He's 6-2, 255-260 and ran a 4.86.  Basic strengths as recorded:  1) good football instincts -makes a lot of plays between tackles; 2) big-time hitter who explodes through the ball carrier; 3) tremendous upper-body strength (AND THIS IS TRUE - JUST FIND A PICTURE OF HIM - I SAW ONE ON ANOTHER SITE - MASSIVE) Can hold his own against 300-lb offensive linemen; and 4) could be a great blitzing linebacker.  WITH STRENGTHS, COMES WEAKNESSES - 1) struggles covering running backs out of the backfield; 2) only 6.5 TFL in 2099.  A linebacker with his skills should have double-digits TFL; and 3) must improve changing direction.  (USA TODAY Magazine)

Bottom line - (Sporting News - for whatever their opinions are worth) Solid priority free agent signing due to his size and athletic skills.  He'll likely serve as a developmental player on a practice squad in his rookie season.

GUYS AND LADIES - all this means is  . . . . . . . NOTHING.  Review are just that - reviews.  High school is high school; college play is college play and now he's with the men.  He has solid coaches and everyone goes through a development phase.  He's a project, sure, but with the RIGHT COACHING, and his ability and commitment to play, he'll be a backup and hopefully, he'll make the team in some way - even if it's on the practice squad.

What say you?

The Phinsider SPARANO LOOKS GREAT!

Sorry if this was mentioned before, if it was.  I've been very busy lately that I really haven't paid attention to my football information.  But since training camp began today, I guess I didn't miss that much.  Anyway, I looked over at the Miami Herald and reading the story about Marshall, there was a small video (1 min. 40 sec) and Coach Tony lost an amazing 55 pounds.  God bless him.  I BET HE DIDN'T HAVE HIS STOMACH STAPLED LIKE SOME BAST- - - in NY did.  What say you?

The Phinsider Who knows about Reshad Jones?

I was just reading a story in the Miami Herald about veterans being impressed with rookies and it was a very interesting read.  A lot of veterans liked CB Nolan Carroll and LB Misi.  They said the LB are very quick and that they could all run, which is good for us in chasing down opposing RBs.  Anyway, my point, (sorry for taking so long) is one veteran, when questioned about Jones, said, "No comment."  Has anyone seen these practices/OTAs?  Are normal people like us (if you consider yourself normal   LOL) allowed to see them?  I live in NY so with a job and family, I just can't take off.  Who has any information about Reshad Jones' performance at these OTAs?  Thank you.

The Phinsider Went back in time

I was going over old rosters and recalling the players of the past.  I know the Dolphins have had their share of, well, let's say "questionable" picks in the draft, and there have been players who stuck around for one thing or another but whatever happened to Tony Bua.

Remember this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0H0a01fgJgs

Just watching it made me shake in seat.  Too bad he didn't pan out.  He seemed very coachable and very intense.  I think it was the coaching staff.  If he was here today with Tony, he'd be great on special teams.

The Phinsider GLAD WE DIDN'T DRAFT THIS DRAMA FAMILY

Came across this today...

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...and/?related=1

For those of you who wish to have a good laugh.  I mean, when is this going to end?  This is really sickening.  Some people have got some nerve.  It's always the few that cause the trouble, that complain, that have the big mouths and the majority has to keep quiet, change THEIR way of doing things, and apologize.  Well, lady (to put it loosely), it's over.  THE END.  ROLL CREDITS.  FADE OUT.

The Phinsider BABY J !!!!!

Have you guys (and girls) seen it?  Have you????

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/dolphins/miami-dolphins-rookie-john-jerry-could-be-a-664636.html

What a story.  The first couple of paragraphs are heart-warming.  Only a loving mother would say that.  It doesn't matter how old you are or how big you are - your mother loves her son.  This is a great story.  I don't make mocks.  I should say I don't publish them on sites like this.  But I did (in ALL HONESTY) have John Jerry written down as a pick.  I also had Iupati.  I thought with our line we could use the help once and for all.  To solidify the line with the addition of 2 massive players.  I got one right and I'm damn glad of it.  I read everyone said, "Who's Jerry?"  Yeah, you'll find out soon enough.  Read it.  Enjoy.

The Phinsider ON NFL NETWORK TODAY

Today (Sunday May 3rd) at 2:30 p.m., is a reply of New Orleans at Miami in week 7 2009.  NO was 5-0 and we just won two in a row to be 2-3.  Enjoy.

I saw yesterday that NFLN had advertised that they were planning on replaying 4 games today.  Right now is Minnesota at Pittsburgh, 2:30 is the Miami game, 4 p.m. is Arizona at Giants and 5:30 is Atlanta at Dallas.

The Phinsider VIDEO - BESS AND GRICE-MULLEN

I really hope GM makes the team.  With Bess, GM and Hartline, that is a young, quick and steady-hands trio.  Add our number 1 Marshall teaching them along with one more (Cam?) and I believe we have an extremely well receiving corps.  What do you think?  He's been very producting so far.  And I hear (actually, read) that Sparano loves his returning skills, so he just might have what it takes to make the 53 squad.  I hope so.  I hope I copied the website correctly.  Look at this film - about 5 minutes, but well done.  Enjoy.

The Phinsider THE SIZE OF OUR O LINE!!!

Long: 6-7 317
Jerry: 6-5 328/Incognito: 6-3 324
Grove: 6-4 300/Berger: 6-5 315
Thomas: 6-4 310/Garner: 6-7 325
Carey: 6-5 340

I am dreaming?  Is this for real?  There's going to be a whole lot of damn rushing yards behind that line!!!  That's over 1600 pounds of muscle making a hole for Ricky and Ronnie.  I can't wait to see those holes open up.  Back in the 70's or early 80's I believe, the Redskins had their "Hogs."  What could these guys possibly be called?  Some of you better start thinking about this.

The Phinsider Question about possible trade

I've seen it here and other forums about Thigpen being traded for a 5th or 6th.  My question is - do other teams know he's on the trading block, like Smiley is, or is this being thrown around in the fan's fantasy?  Does a team actually come out and tell the others, "John Smith is available."???    Don't know quite how the trades of players work and would appreciate it if someone would educate me on this.  Thanks.

The Phinsider JOEY PORTER ARRESTED

That didn't take long at all.  To tell you the truth, I did not read the story.  I just wanted to let everyone know that the Dolphins made a very smart move in getting rid of this character.  They don't need anyone like this in the locker room.  This is not the kind of person you want as Captain or even water boy.  He's bad news.  Good riddance!  Good luck Arizona.  HA!!!!!!!!!!

The Phinsider Brady Quinn to Denver

Cleveland traded Quinn to Denver (pending passing of physical) in exchange for a fullback and 2011 draft pick.  I don't think he got a fair deal in Cleveland.  I'm sure he's a talented young man and wish him well.  Denver had wanted him (reportedly) ever since trading Cutler.  I saw this article on a Miami Herald website.  I'm sure it's floating around out there on other sites by now.  Your thoughts?

The Phinsider When a player "interviews",

could someone give me some insight about this?  Is it an informal meeting?  I read Idaho Guard Mike Iupati had 20 interviews on his pro day.  So what happens?  Is it on the field?  Behind closed doors?  And, if anyone knows, are the questions in the general area of what you or I would get at our job interviews?  I would assume that the teams wishes to know as much as possible about the personal aspect of the player.  Would appreciate the procedure of this event.    Thanking you all in advance for your assistance.

The Phinsider If McClain is available at 12,

I would entertain offers, especially from the Giants at 15 because, while I know mock drafts are just guess-work for inexperienced individuals, I read a lot of stories that the Giants need LB.  If this is so, trade down and pick up an extra pick.  Going from 12 to 15 probably won't warrant a 2nd rounder but maybe a 3rd.  I would definitely trade down (if we can get a partner).  What do you think?

The Phinsider Why another RB?

What am I missing?  I know that we must have faith in the Trifeca, which I do; however, why draft a RB that is listed as a potential FA in one draft guide (Lindy's) and, in the Sporting News, he's not even listed as a FA.  In Pro Football Weekly draft guide, he's not there.  Secondary help or another LB, - how about a WR?  Why draft someone that could be had AFTER the draft?  Anyone?
