QB evaluations - which is more important height or weight?

If you like statistics this may be very interesting to you. Allot of it is over my head but I found it worthwhile to read none the less.

Notre Dame defensive tackle Kona Schwenke visited the Kansas City Chiefs

National Football Post: "Notre Dame defensive tackle Kona Schwenke visited the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, according to a league source."

Chiefs in top 10 for 2015 SB odds

Super Bowl XLIX odds released on Monday: Here’s the complete list of William Hill’s 2015 NFL title odds: 5-1: Broncos, 49ers, Seahawks. 12-1: Packers, Patriots, Saints. 20-1: Eagles. 22-1: Bengals, Chiefs, Panthers. 25-1: Colts, Steelers. 30-1: Bears, Chargers. 40-1: Cardinals, Cowboys, Falcons, Giants, Lions, Ravens. 50-1: Dolphins, Texans, Rams, Redskins. 75-1: Jets. 100-1: Bills, Browns, Buccaneers, Raiders, Titans, Vikings. 150-1: Jaguars. Not bad - Chiefs were 50-1 last season - looks like Vegas has some faith in Coach Reid and Mr. Dorsey

Season tickets

Anyone else go to renew their season tickets and find that they went up? I expected them to go up but was a bit surprised by the amount - mine went up 40% for next year.

So KC what's it like out there?

Getting ready to drive in from the west. What can I expect?

2013 top 10 dead money deals - this is how you go without a winning season in over a DECADE.

4 of the top 10 dead money deals are faider ex-players 1. Richard Seymour (DT)-Oakland Raiders: $13.714 Million 3. Carson Palmer (QB)-Oakland Raiders: $9.34 Million 5. Rolando McClain (LB)-Oakland Raiders: $7.26 Million 8. Tommy Kelly (DT)-Oakland Raiders: $6,324,270

What happened to the mojo?

What earned Kansas City its 9-0 start, in large part, was a basic formula: Play good, but not necessarily scintillating offense without turning the ball over. Get the ball in the hands of the club’s few playmakers, principally tailback Jamaal Charles. Create a lot of turnovers and convert them into scores. Maintain intense defensive pressure, particularly on the quarterback. Lately, however, the formula has failed. It’s as if some mad scientist snuck into Reid’s lab and removed a critical ingredient.

Recent recipe for winning Super Bowls

While looking for an article I read recently I came across several articles about recent Super Bowl winners. Here are some bits and pieces and none of this was taken out of context (at least not intentionally): "So mark this down: Losing at the end of the regular season can be a good thing. That's what the champion Ravens did, dropping four of their final five games this season before igniting in the playoffs and knocking off the Colts, Broncos, Patriots and finally the 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII. And the Ravens were traveling a well-worn path. The 2011 Giants won it all after losing four in a row in November and December. The 2010 Packers lost three of four down the stretch. The 2009 Saints lost their last three in the regular season. The 2007 Giants went 4-4 over a November/December stretch. The 2006 Colts lost four of their last seven. And the 2005 Steelers had a three-game losing streak during November and December. Being dragged to the edge of a cliff and forced to stare into the abyss helps sharpen a team's focus, reminding the players just how bad losing feels." and I couldn't leave this out: "Sunday's Super Bowl XLVII winner, the Baltimore Ravens, opened 9-2 but would finish 10-6 thanks to four losses in their last five games. And that's exactly the kind of momentum that often propels teams to go on a four-game winning streak in the postseason and capture the Lombardi Trophy." I'm more a glass half full guy so I'll just hope this is a sign for better things to come.

KC Chiefs noise level during NY Giants game

KCChiefs reporting that the fans peaked at 124.5 decibels during the Giants game. There may be a chance to break the record at the faiders game.

Bleacher report claim Chiefs put Dwayne Bowe on non-football injury list

Bleacher report - Ian Rapaport tweet

Rotoworld best/worst case J. Charles

5. Jamaal Charles Best Case: Andy Reid comes to Jesus, curbing his pass-obsessed tendencies to make Charles the true quarterback of his offense. It results in the greatest season of Charles’ career, who makes like Larry Johnson on the ground (1,700 yards) and Brian Westbrook through the air (600 receiving yards). Worst Case: Reid’s square peg (Alex Smith) doesn’t fit in the round hole (his pass-happy West Coast offense), hamstringing the offense, and Charles in particular. Charles still eclipses 1,500 yards from scrimmage and 5.0 yards per carry, but as is usually the case with Reid’s running backs, people are left wondering what might have been.

The Raiders are interested in building a 50,000-seat stadium - the smallest in the league

I love this Coliseum can seat as many as 64,200 fans, but the Raiders were dead last in the league in average attendance last season at just over 54,000 fans per game, according to ESPN. With that in mind, a 50,000-seat stadium would be much easier to fill to capacity. - They can't actually get fans to show up to a game so lets make the stadium smaller so we can have sell outs!

Offseason Review AFC West

Most improved team: Chiefs Biggest veteran move: Alex Smith, Chiefs. Best draft addition: Eric Fisher, Chiefs. Sorry to go so Chiefs-heavy on you. But the facts are the facts. Chiefs won 3 of the 4 categories - here's to hoping that translates into winning 3 of every 4 games!

D the Chiefs have an offensive trick up their sleeve?

Nothing really new in this article but anything Chiefs is going to be hard to come by over the next 6-7 weeks.

12 NFL Players Set for Bounce-Back Seasons

Berry certainly has the talent to earn a Pro Bowl invite based on merit and not popularity. Now that he is a full year removed from the ACL injury, expect a nice bounce-back in his coverage and range. How much better will Berry be this year?

Top TE Combinations

10. Chiefs—Tony Moeaki and Anthony Fasano or Travis Kelce. It will be interesting to see how this one shakes out because with the addition of third rounder Kelce, the Chiefs have three tight ends who can ball. Assuming all three are still around in September, Andy Reid has to determine how to use each and how they will fit together.

Chiefs did NOT give permission to Dolphins to talk to Albert

The report that the Chiefs gave permission to the Dolphins to talk to left tackle Brandon Albert came as news to Chiefs coach Andy Reid. Reid denied the report today, according to Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star.

Mock draft from Russ Lande

Russ only has 1 QB going in the first round - and it's not Geno. I don't spend allot of time watching mocks - but I found it interesting that he had only 1 QB in the first. Let's say that the draft goes exactly as Russ predicts it will - how does that influence your mindset on this years QB choices?

Will Alex Smith play as well for Andy Reid as he did for Jim Harbaugh?

It is fair to wonder how Alex Smith will perform without Jim Harbaugh on the other end of his strings. After all, the new Chiefs quarterback had a 95.1 passer rating with Harbaugh as his coach compared to 72.1 for the previous six years of his career, according to STATS. And it also is fair to wonder why Smith cannot continue to perform under Andy Reid as he did under Harbaugh. The first thing to be understood about Smith is he is gifted. Very gifted.

"You see the bottom drop out of the market, and you react."

"We had decided we were going to address free agency, but in a frugal way, after we signed our own guys,'' Dorsey said. "One of the things I've learned is it's not smart to go what I call the JUCO route, taking players who might be only short-term fits. We want to take guys at reasonable prices who can be core players. When the corner market changed, we really had to go after Sean.'' Peter King's Monday Morning QB - Tuesday

Wow Boldin for a 6th

ESPN - Ravens trade Boldin to 49ers for a 6th round pick. Cheap

Adrian Wilson?

Pair him with Berry for a couple years while you find the long term replacement?

Pioli vs. Reid/Dorsey

From Peter King:"The Chiefs have a deal in principle for San Francisco quarterback Alex Smith; that could have happened under Pioli as well, but it's thought he was going to spend a second-round pick on one of the rookie quarterbacks in the class of 2013." So this got me thinking - would you rather have Reid/Dorsey with Smith or Pioli and whomever (QB is assumed) he decided to spend a second round pick on? I have to go Reid/ Dorsey and Smith myself but it certainly gave me pause.

Bowe - Chiefs reach 5 year deal
