Quick Questions...
I keep seeing a lot of 'Fire Tubs' sentiment out there on the board lately. Though I do not share this ideal, I understand to a point where most of you are coming from. Some of you are tired of our 'Marquee Losses', some don't like the direction the team is taking, and others just haven't wanted Tubs here from day one and refused to ever give him a shot.
I can understand where you guys are coming from, but I just can't get past these looming questions...
'Who is it out there that you guys think is so much better than Tubs?'
'Who do you think we would be able to get after screwing two coaches in a row?'
'Who is on your list of coaches?'
I just keep getting the feeling that there are a lot of people out there that hate Tubs so much that there hasn't been much thought on what the alternative would be at this point. Just a thought really, again I get where you are coming from, and given some of our key losses lately I do sympathise with some of you. But in all seriousness I would love to know what the exit strategy for you guys would be...

Using the Longhorn Network
While at work I listen to the local sports talk radio, on this station the Longwhorn Network is commercialized all the time. The thing that gets me though is that they boast about the network giving viewers an 'inside view' of the whorns from practices gearing up for the week's game, to Mack Brown talking about gameplans and team focuses for their next opponents.
I wonder if any teams out there (i.e. TTU) have thought about picking up the network in the weeks before their game with the whorns to get an inside view on what they are planning to do, to have a proper counter-plan to stop it. I mean if it is "in-depth" as it claims to be then there stands to be a distinct advantage presented to opponents that utilize it.
Just a thought really, but the other day when the commercial came on it just made me think... couldn't this backfire against you? I mean it seems there is a lot of info given on their programing that goes far beyond the normal everyday game film teams usually use to prepare for a team.

TTU takes a swing back against SBB
I have documented before about the unfair pub Brooks has sent Tech's way in the past. Since Leach's firing he has made it a personal vendetta to post bad about Tech wherever he can... for most of a year now he has even made a link graphic using the 'Double T' as his own logo for his coverage of the Leach case, in a cynical manner (the logo says"Truth" with the double T as the T). Not that we didn't deserve the cynicism when it all came out, but it has been on his front page for quite a while now.
Well now Tech finally steps and says 'Hey buddy... that double T is a registered trademark, time to take it down' and now Brooks is on a crusade for his "Journalistic Integrity".
I'll be the first to admit that I read his blog daily, but his coverage of Tech has been anything but fair. It is a nit picky thing (the logo), but it really is ridiculous that you have to look at it every time you log on... It is a registered trademark, and he SHOULD have changed it up some at least if he was going to make a graphic like this.
Personally I am kind of torn, on one hand I HATE how he has represented Tech and want him to burn for acting just as petty as the James' and ESPN did towards Leach. And on the other hand I don't want Tech to be shown in a bad light more than it already has. Either way Brooks is still in the wrong and should at least recognize that.
Oh ya, did I mention that all comments are having to be "approved by a moderator" before they can be posted... For all the smear campaigning he has done against ESPN for twisting news and appearances, he sure seems to do a lot of it himself.
The Ultimate Aggie Joke ...
Has just unfolded in front of our eyes, and I for one am more than happy that I witnessed it. Flash back to last summer when conference re-alignment goes down, Nebraska takes Mizzou's invite for the Big 10, half of the Big XII South was looking to the Pac-whatever... And there was A&M claiming they had an invite to the SEC. Heres the deal, they claimed they had an invite but didn't take it and signed loyalty to the Big XII which meant accepting the LHN... no matter how much it sucks for every other Big XII school. Now at that time A&M still hadn't had a decent season in about 10 years (at least), so even the aggies were being hesitant on moving.
Flash forward to this summer, A&M has their first good season in a decade and all of the sudden 2011 turns into and alternate 1999 for Aggie fans, where they feel they can win the 12 and possibly a NC. Aggies all over have started DEMANDING respect from everyone as some national power since they see themselves as primed for a championship... Meanwhile around the Big XII were are all looking at ourselves in disbelief... really? You are talking this big about yourselves after just one year? Get a grip Aggies you still aren't THAT good yet. But as we all know, Aggies never seem to view their program as the rest of us and continued to puff out their chest, opposing the LHN that they signed along with last summer when the Big XII was re-structured.
This is where things get hilarious to me, good ole Rick Perry gets in the news running his mouth about how the Aggies are having talks about joining the SEC... and what starts as small grease fire spreads to the curtains and walls, look out, this house is burning down. The media catches wind of this and runs with it, and naturally Aggie heads meet to actually discuss the move. From what we are to understand they are all for it and have their bags packed, and this is where the punchline for the rest of us comes up...
With the Ags packed and ready to go, the SEC heads meet up and turns out there has never been an actual invite and turn down A&M request to join as a possible expansion team. This means either the Ags got caught up in their own delusions and actually believed that the SEC would just accept them with open arms without question... OR that the Ags may have gotten an invite last summer, and in true Aggie fashion just assumed the offer was still good a year later from turning it down. Either way Aggies have egg on their face and it is hilarious!
Last summer was funny enough when Mizzou made a big stink about how they were more suited for the Big 10 than the Big 12, and how superior they were... then came crawling back to the Big 12 with their tail between their legs. This summer we get the Ags full on moving out before they had a new place to live.
If everything holds as it is, we just watched A&M make asses of themselves in the national media in ways they never have before... Man am I glad Tech kept their mouth shut during all of this non-sense.

Why We Can't Just Take What Brooks Feeds Us...
In the past couple of days I think we have all been caught up this hooplah created by popular sports blog 'Sports by Brooks' and his 'exclusive scoop' about Tubs not being happy in Lubbock. Here is the deal, for those who have been reading the site for a few years like I have you have noticed a massive shift in his coverage towards TTU after the ML split. He obviously took Leach's side (not that there's anything wrong with that) and has let it corrupt his journalistic integrity. I just wanted to throw out some of the posts he has put up over the past year and let you all make your own assumptions here, personally I feel I feel like Brooks has taken every chance he can to take pop-shots at TTU... but you decide.

(A nice little article about a fan at a basketball game who apparently was a bit too into the game when he was trying to psyche out an Aggie on the free throw line. So Brooks took the time to write about how he feels this guy is "Unemployed septic tank technician and sleeping on mom’s service porch at 47" ... very classy Brooks)

Wow Brooks, way to let lose on this guy, I'm sure he deserved it :/ gotta love quotes like this letting you know just how un-biased he is "Kudos to the Tech marketing department. These were just the articles that came up when I clicked the 'Texas Tech Red Raiders' tag at the bottom of his latest article. But nawww this guy seems perfectly legit in his coverage of Texas Tech right? Why would we question anything he has to say? I mean could any of you guys think of a reason why some of us aren't too quick to jump on his 'Tuberville is miserable at Tech' story and praise it as gospel? I mean why should we believe a guy that has done nothing but try to bring down Tech every chance he gets... Honestly, if you feel otherwise then find me some recent articles that are pro TTU, I guarantee you it won't be easy.
Just some food for thought really... Wreck 'Em
Surprising Bleacher Report
Normally I can't even bring myself to read the articles on this site... But some truths being said here.
UT makes the 'Bottom 10'
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I'll just leave this here
Fire BROWN!!!!
This guy obviously knows nothing about running an offense, I mean only 635 yrds total of O??? Leach would have had at least 800 and like 15 tds...
And running the ball? Come on, the run is absolutely worthless getting just 173 yrds and 2 tds, I mean who could actually use that in their offense? Only an idiot would try to work the running game in ... How dare they!
35 first downs and 10-16 on 3rd down is just far too little for a Texas Tech offense. This guy is totally worthless, I'm sure any of could have coaches waaay better!
Maybe some of us can look at this game and see that if you give a new scheme a little bit of time, things will start to click. But hey we have already seen everything this coaching staff could possibly show us after the first 4 games right?
No Comment Eh?
No comment usually means coach isn't planning on doing much in the way of discipline... Will be interesting to see if these two play Saturday after being arrested for drugs...
What a selective memory we have ...
As I read through some of the comments this morning, I am not so shocked as I am amused by what I read. This is it, this was the game that all the 'Team Leach' fans were waiting for, time to try to blow apart the new coaching staff for losing a game we should have won... Forgetting that Leach's dynasty was marred by 'games we should have won' ...
2002
NC State 51-48 OT
Iowa State 31-17
Colorado 37-13
And this was a team that beat Texas...
2003
NC State 49-21
OK State 51-49
Missery 62-31
2004
NEW MEXICO 27-24
OT loss to A&M but it was @ Collie Station, so I won't really count it... but here was a team that rang up 70 on NE and TCU, but still managed to lose 4 games
2005
One of the few years without dropping solid 'should win games', but lost one we should have won against Bama
2006
TCU 12-3
Missery 38-21
Colorado 30-6
2007
Missery 41-10
Colorado 31-26
*Should be noted a crabtree drop in the endzone cost us a win @ stoolwater this year
2008
The glory year, though ....
Ole Miss 47-34
2009
U of H 29-28
A&M 52-30
So as I look at these games I am blown away by the selective memory. Reading Seth's article this morning definitely put things into perspective with the whole Michigan/Rich Rod thing, these changes don't happen over night, you don't change an entire defensive scheme and expect not to have a game or two where the wheels come off. We are 2-2 at this point and the season is hardly lost, I look at the UCLA loss as WAAAAY worse than this, that was at home in DKR, this was away in BFE Iowa.
Even though some of you will be unwilling to give Tuberville the benefit of the doubt and get behind him... just remember when everyone acted this way towards Leach... or maybe thats part of the problem, not enough people actually remember those days and just see Leach as a universally accepted figure at TTU that never had to go through rough patches of everyone calling for his head. Things ended up good there, why is Tuberville so un-deserving of a fair chance??? As Seth said earlier today, he wasn't the one who fired Leach... none of this staff had anything at all to do with that.
4 games is hardly a measuring stick, lets wait till later in the season before we decide if this season is a bust or not.
Part of being a Tech fan is putting up with losses that should be wins, 'picking yourself up by your bootstraps' and getting ready to take it out on the next team.
Wreck 'Em!
Allot of this going on last night... can there ever be a game against UT where the refs call a game even? Im not putting the loss only on the refs here, but this shattered our spirit at the end of the game.
Nothing like some good ELO to set the mood for Saturday
I think Ubben forgot we are a part of the Big 12...
So here we are on Tuesday, and he has written countless stories about Missouri, Kansas, IOWA STATE, OSu, Baylor ... basically garbage about nothingness, and not a SINGLE post game wrap up, analysis, or even comment on the Red Raiders over the weekend. He at least made a wrap up for all the other teams... What in the F!
He took the time to mention the Longwhorns 1 interception this year and how thats off the mark for them, but nothing about how Tech has 5 going into this week, or 9 sacks. I mean to not have ONE mention that we even played a game over the weekend is pretty ridiculous.
I seriously hate this guy. I mean it has been building up more and more, but this tops it, not even to mention we played a game is pretty g-damned out there!
And no, putting up a link or two from the Avalanche Journal doesn't count for covering the game you midget fool.
Freakin Awesome!
NM game on tv?
Howdy all, I was wondering if anyone knew about the game being on TV this week... I had seen a commercial over the weekend on versus saying the game would be on tv, but the tv listings don't seem to be showing it. I live in Houston and have comcast if that helps... anyone know of where to watch it pay/free online if it is not on tv? Are there like online subscriptions to watch all the games live?
Thanks,
Guns Up!
Why I'm Not Too Worried...
As I sat in the front row of Reliant Stadium behind the Rice bench on Saturday, I found myself surrounded in burnt orange loudmouths talking up some big game about their Longwhorns and how great they were going to be. As I have mentioned once or twice on here before, every year one of my closest family friends gives me season tickets to Rice home games, which I gladly accept as I love the world of college football and find the world of the under dog engaging. As it stands Rice is one of the only teams I will cheer for other than Tech, so cheering against the whorns this weekend is not too much of a stretch for me. What I saw was the most unimpressive UT team I have seen since the Chris Sims days, I am really not joking here, Rice won a small amount of games last year, and ended up near the bottom overall, and they hung with UT like they were contenders. Now the ESPN replays and such won't show you what I saw in the stadium, but several times I saw Rice march down the field seemingly at will, and on the flip side saw UT's offense get straight up SHUT DOWN time and time again by a defense that didn't even have it's starting defensive line in the game due to injuries...
To cut this short, as it stands today I think we have a great chance against UT... I know the overall score of our game doesn't reflect it, but we really did dominate SMU... I have watched the game again since this afternoon, and the only reason it was close was from our own stupid decisions, it wasn't from Potts throwing picks, or losing fumbles... or even SMU running serious game on us with their offense. In actuality, they only had one TRUE drive where they went down the field and scored on us, all the others were great field position set ups from bad special teams execution, bad 4th down calls etc. I mean we had the game well in hand when their "come back" happened, and it wasn't even that fierce. I think our D played extremely well, I honestly can't remember off the top of my head the last time we had 3 picks, a fumble recovery, and like 4 or 5 sacks in a game. For the first time out I think this D showed to be a formidable foe. Many will take this game as a 'we barely won' scenario, or a 'we almost lost it' type of game, but I never felt that even watching it the first time... I think this will be a great season for us once we get our footing, and if the game plan I saw UT unveil is what they plan on using against us... we are going to have a field day!
One thing above everything else... If I have to listen to Bob Davie cast one more TTU game I'm going to go ballistic on everyone I see! That a$$hat could barely say ANYTHING good about Tech all day, and all he wanted to talk about was how Fing great SMU was doing, and blah blah blah.... don't know why they let that failed disgrace of a coach get on TV and act like he knows what hes talking about. He wasn't good when he was at A&M and started the free fall that was ND football, I honestly think I'd rather listen to Craig James than him (ok maybe not that extreme but you get me)
Wreck 'Em
Faith in Potts
Ok, now we finally have a starter in place, and yes it's not the starter most of us were hoping for... But honestly I see it having tremendous potential. We all know Potts has the physical gifts to be an outstanding QB, he just made some bonehead decisions that would cost us BIG TIME. Now when you look at Leach's system, it was almost all put on the QB, plays being called at the line and check offs/audibles as well... Honestly this was never Potts' strong suit. Brown has already said that the plays are coming from him 100%, which honestly bodes well for Potts, take away the mental distress of choosing plays and just giving him what he needs to run is probably why he was always so great in practice and not in game situations under Leach. I mean we all use Harrell as the litmus test but most of us forget that his father was a coach, and he was raised around coaching, some of these concepts are harder to grasp for other QBs. Another thing to look at is that Brown has apparently been working on the throwing off the back foot, which was his other major fault, if that has indeed been worked on I'm thinking this is going to be a good choice.
Potts completely earned my respect last year, true I am a Sticks man and would have picked him #1 there is no denying what Potts persevered through last season... College football is hard enough without having your fan base turn on you, but week after week he stuck it out and never had a bad word to say about it... I don't care who you are that takes GUTS. I personally wish the best for this kid and hope the student fan base embraces him.
In honor of the world's "football" and seeing that the USA is still in the hunt I figured I would drop this old school gem on everyone.
A&M looking to split from UT....
Just read this thought everyone would like to see... Apparently A&M is seriously looking at the SEC ... even though UT has absolutely no intention of joining. Maybe aTm forgot to look at the game tape of them getting ripped apart by one of the worst teams in the SEC last year, but if they do this they will be battling Miss St. and Vanderbilt for doormat honors.

Nothing would make me happier....
Than seeing Misery left out in the cold here. After all the hoopla they stirred up a year ago about wanting to leave the conference, and how they were soooo much better than the other Big 12 schools academically. Well, now it seems the Big 10 doesn't want them....
An athletic director with knowledge of the Big Ten said, "Missouri is getting cold shoulder from Big Ten."
Joe Schad of ESPN reported Wednesday that the Big Ten list of interest for expansion goes like this: 1) Notre Dame 2) Nebraska 3) Rutgers and/or Maryland.
http://texas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1092612
In your F-ing face Missouri I really hope this stays true, because nothing would make me happier than having seen them bitch and moan about not making enough money in the Big 12, then being dropped down to C-USA!
Am I the only one who sees this?
Ok, with all the coaching changes and changes to the 'air raid', am I the only one who sees this as a GOOD thing? I mean after 10 years there is no denying that teams had started to get used to our offense, I mean especially last season teams were really keying on what were pretty much our 'set' 8 plays.
My first look at this was with Houston, had it not been for our RUN game pounding the ball down their throats I don't think we would have scored half the points we did. Seriously it looked like they were in the huddle with us. A&M seemed to have us locked down again, had it not been for a few athletic break away plays. I mean when Baylor seems to be holding you down offensively for 2 years and running, there might be a bigger problem than any of us thought. I mean look back to our 2008 year when OU wouldn't even let us SNIFF the endzone till the team knew they had it in the bag.
Maybe it was Potts being in there most of the season, but it really looked like we surprised nobody all season long and I for one welcome a change. Ya Tubs wants to run the ball.... AND GOOD! We have probably the best backfield in the Big 12, what is wrong with some 2 back sets? I for one welcome a coach that isn't afraid to give the running game a chance to click rather then trying a run once then not going back to it till the 4th.
One more thing to simmer on is the defensive structures that have started to take hold around the Big 12/NCAA and how sooo many more teams are running a 3-3-5, or base Nickle sets for spread offenses. All passing offenses no longer 'scare the poop' out of defenses, mixing in a running game into one of the best passing offenses in the league makes us absolutely lethal. I think allot of the nay-sayers out there will change their minds about running the ball more once we start confusing teams on what were gunna do, and start making them look stupid again, rather than seeing Nickle sets all day every day no matter what teams we face.
Lets get down to it here and be honest with ourselves ... The all spread passing offense (like the triple option) is fun to watch, and enjoyable, but is an offense mainly used to mask talent gaps against much stronger teams athletically, using spacing to create mismatches rather than player on player mismatches. As a team, I think our talent has come a long way from when Leach got here and we were playing with scraps left over from A&M and Texas. We now have the players to run an offense that can combine the spacing advantages with player mismatches... and it's about time we adjusted our offense for these changes.
A Sharp Knife Cuts Clean
As we watch the Tommy T regime take hold, we are all starting to take in the coaching changes that are taking place with open mouths and shocked expressions. However, after I close my mouth and look at things closer I start to realize just how necessary these changes are for the team that is taking shape in the wake of the 'Leach Era'.
To put it simply, what happened with Leach was a nuclear fallout of epic proportions to the team and program, when sides split with coaches and administrations it is NEVER a good thing. The main thing that worried me after Leach's departure was indeed the coaches that had his back solidly throughout the whole affair. YES these were all great coaches (Ruffin, Riley, Wiley, etc.) it was just unfortunate for them that they had to get involved (as necessary as it was). When a new coaching regime comes in and there are many loyalists still left that have taken a big enough stand for the previous coach it is a dangerous situation... especially when many of these coaches were looked over as suitable replacements for Leach.
In pirate terms, Tommy T took over a very opinionated pirate ship, and if he did not clean house mutiny would have followed in suit. Not on a large scale mind you, but you would always have whispers of doubt amongst the crew, which always leads to bigger problems.
I guess this where we put trust in the idea that Tommy knows what he is doing, and it is best for the team... Though I hate to see these coaches leave, perhaps it is for the best.
With All Voices Heard...
It's time to get together and back our Red Raiders in the Alamo Bowl tonight!
-Yes it is a travesty what has happened
-Yes our AD let us down
-Yes Craig James and Baby James are whiney bitches
-But NO, no matter what people say or feel, this is not the end of good football in West Texas!
I may be standing out on a ledge here, but I think this could actually be a (forced) step in a better direction for our football program (if handled right from here on out). I mean from where I am sitting Mike Leach took us as far as any coach has taken us, and re-birthed our program into the national spotlight... But lets face facts, he never won a big one for us. So here is where we need to make a solid HC pick, one who HAS been tested, and HAS won the big game before. For all of Leach's strong points, they have always been his undoing as well, his stubbornness has cost us games this year, and in the past. I mean Leach's system was outstanding for building up our program, for years we were undersized and outmatched as far as talent goes, and Leach's spread leveled the playing field... But am I the only one who has looked at our talent the past few years and wondered what we could do with some of this talent if we just mixed up the play calling a little bit? As much as I LOVE the pass, Id also love to see us be able to square up against someone on the goal line and ram it down their throats.
Now before everyone gets mad at the thought of moving past Leach so fast, or thinking I'm not giving due credit, I just ask you to look at things like I have the past few days...
The things that Mike has done for us aren't just going to go away, the incredible athletic facilities arent going to disassemble themselves, the new buildings built from football bowl money aren't going to collapse... and the name we have created for ourselves isn't going away either.
I guess my main point is that whether or not we have some shitheads running things (right now)... Texas Tech has become a desirable job and with the right pick, all the tools are in place to do incredible things here (and yes I'm talking NCs).
With this being said we all need to band together and Support Texas Tech Football team. These players can't control who is in charge, and turning your backs on them because you are mad at the administration is like cutting off your nose to spite your face. These kids still work hard day in and day out (aside from Baby James) and DESERVE our respect and support even through these dark times.
Lets go out there today and kick some Spartan Ass
Wreck 'Em
P.S. I know im hitting on several different points, and could have done better with several smaller posts... Its just I got sick (littereally) when this whole thing started and have nothing but time and thoughts in my head for days... I guess this is the result... lol

Potts to Start in Alamo Bowl
What the hell is going on? Is Sticks THAT far behind in his healing process? I mean I have warmed over on 'Nick', but it was only in the impression that Sticks was coming back for the Bowl! Leach tells ESPN that Potts will be the starter, and I don't know if it is a ploy to make MSU think Potts will be in when its Sticks all along or what... In any case I'm a bit shocked AND worried about our bowl game now.

Ok, here for 2 weeks now I have been finding myself cruising around on OSU fan boards like orangepower.com and ESPN etc, and I just can't hold in my frustrations anymore... Where do these guys get off? There is so damn much trash talking about the raiders coming from these guys its ridiculous, I just got done looking at a discussion board 11 pages long with comments just bashing Tech and Tech fans in general (not even aggies or Longhorns bashed us this much)...
I mean is it just me or did we not put these guys in their place hard enough last year? Here it was, they came into town touting Kendall Hunter and Dez Bryant were unstoppable, and how Robinson was the best QB out there, ooohhh Tech's defense had no chance of stopping them... and the contest was over by half time! I mean it wasn't even a game, in my opinion our D is stronger this year than last year... so what is out there to say we don't make them look even worse this year?
Actual football teams aside, I have been completely caught up in the "traditions" OSU seems to be so proud of... So after reading the posts this is what I gathered...
Tech Traditions that seem to have influenced OSU's "Proud Tradition"
-The Masked Rider has been a time honored tradition at Tech for many years now, riding out at football games from SWC days to now... Somewhere around the year of 1984, OSU decided this was pretty cool and adopted 'Bullet' (OSU's answer to the Masked Rider) Kind of frustrating but understandable ... I guess
-'Guns Up' has a wikipedia page which dates the salute back to 1961, starting widespread use in 1971. I tried to look up OSU's hand gun signal they use these days and have only been able to find comments posted by past alumni... From this I gathered that the 'pistols firing' (or whatever they call is) didn't surface till the 90s, and looks an awful like the guns up don't you think? Many alumni were making noise that they refused to do it as it looks like they are cheering for TTU. However, current students claim the symbol has been around forever and we need to "deal with it"
-Lets fast forward a bit to "Orange Power" ... now I noticed earlier this year here on this board people noticing during the OSU v UH game, a chant sounding awfully close to "Raider Power". Now this was discussed at length http://www.doubletnation.com/2009/9/8/1021142/did-i-hear-orange-power-during-the
Now on these OSU boards they like to fire back claims that we stole their beloved cowboy mascot...
-How in the HELL does Raider Red look like their cowboy???? Their mascot is a dude dressed as a cowboy wearing a giant plastic cowboy head. I just don't see how this is even argued, who the hell wants their mascot?
I don't know about you guys, but I can't wait to see Tech beat the hell out of Xerox State again! Going into the season they were my pick as the #1 most over-rated team in college football, and they have not disappointed me so far. 2 SI covers, endless media coverage, and a top 10 start and it comes to this... Tech can fully expose OSU once and for all this weekend and I just can't hold in my excitement anymore!
Mind you, I routinely read other teams boards going into the games to try to pick up some insight into where they are coming from, though I never post on there... I just find that to be in bad taste, but I cannot wait to see what they have to say after this one.
OK, guess I'm done ranting for a while

I Never Thought I Would See the Day....
That Texas Tech would find their way on the 'Bottom 10' Article on ESPN.

I know it is just the #5 spot and that is a "guest" spot which any team can get, AND it was because of Leach's comments.... still is kinda weird seeing us on there though.
What else can I say ...

Growing Pains
Honestly, this is the only phrase I can use to describe how this season has gone. Lets face facts here as fans... We have been spoiled by the success we had last year and have come to expect the type of winning streaks that got us on the national map last year.
When you take a look at this years team it is a group of EXTREMELY tallented players... but they are all so young! This is especially evident in our O-line, I mean we basically lost our entire line from last year and are rebuilding from scratch... sacks, collapsing pockets, and pressure really should be expected here. Then you look at players like Potts, who has received the blunt of the blame for our woes (from myself as well as others). This was a guy that we had no reason NOT to have faith in coming into the season ... Plain and simple it just hasn't worked out. One thing to look up at here is that we have Sticks who is without a doubt the guy we want to lead our team through next year. Our receiving crew is outstanding... though again just young and inexperienced, hence dropped passes.
Our defense def got crushed last week, but honestly that is the only game I have seen this season that they played so terrible... Anyone else remember when we would play this bad versus about every single team we lined up against?
Bottom line is that this loss is nothing we can't recover and build from. We have had a great run against the Ags and no you can't win every single one of them, but I think we will rebound this week and use this game as a reminder of what happens when you get too full of yourselves.
When I look ahead at our schedule, there is no reason that we can't go out there and take AT LEAST 3 of the remaining 4 games. We have the talent to play with anyone, and I think we will prove it coming up.
As fans I just hope we don't get down on these guys, because without our support there is no way they recover from such a hard loss... We have one of the strongest home field fan bases in college football, we need to realize that and stop Booing our own players and show some faith and support to our guys again.
Just my interpretation of the situation...
