MMA comic called Heart published by Image.
No, it is not my work.
but Anderson performed an ultrasound of Okami on the first round, he measured him in all ways possible and, when he switched the engine on, that’s what happens.
Marquardt on Steroids
If you're a true athlete, the best way is to be natural. Anything you get from steroids you're trading off somewhere else, whether it's your cardio or longevity in the sport. You need all those things. - Nate MarquardtMarquardt on Chael's positive test
Until they’ve seen the test results and have researched it and know what they’re talking about, they should probably just [wait and] listen to what [Chael has to say].I don’t know. I didn’t see the results of the test, so I can’t even comment, to be honest. Who knows? Obviously it was a banned substance that was in his system or it was over the limit or however it was, but either way he’ll be punished for having that in his system. At the same time it doesn’t mean he was trying to cheat. It could have been several things. It could have been an over-the-counter medicine or a supplement he was taking that made him test positive

Dave Johnson tackles Nick Diaz. Classic pulp fiction from the 209. Excuse me if I messed up the area code. But you know I really don't give a flying f----.
Does this image looked altered?
What kind of juice is this guy on?
Ok, maybe he's not on anything, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt but is he fast? Can he move all that muscle?
Is he a freaking fighter?
Check out the Werdum interview on Tatame.
I hit Anderson Silva with more unanswered, undefended strikes than any fighter has landed on an opponent in the history of combat sports. Go count 'em up, Pointdexters
I struck him more times than Quasimodo struck the church bell at Notre Dame. I hit him so many times that I stopped fighting because my fists bouncing off his melon were ringing so loudly that it sounded like a bell, and I thought that the round, and the fight, were over. Actually, that's not true - I actually stopped out of mercy and boredom.
Anderson Silva faced the 5-men crew called the Jabbaawockeez prior to his UFC 126 match against the Phenom, Vitor Belfort

Tatsuyuki Tanaka’s Cyberpunk Fairytales. I don't know if this was posted before but maybe some MMA fans may not be familiar with Tanaka's work.
BJ Penn is a cool dude man. I'll be honest, at first, it didn't seem like he could fight that good. I mean, I don't know about his ground game and all of that stuff, but he's got some pop and in just the 3 days I've been working with him, he has improved man.
I don't know shit about that ground stuff, but I can get their defense tight and get them throwing their shots right. I got BJ working on something just for a taller opponent. I don't know what BJ's ground game is like at all, but if he uses what I'm showing him, he won't need it Trust me when I tell you now.
I bet he aint going back to Freddie Roach either. he worked with Freddie "the Joke Coach" Roach and he telling me he has never seen the stuff I'm showing him, so what does that tell you? Man, the only thing Fredie Roach can do better than me is wash my car.
THE WRATH of CAIN!
I haven't drawn a bunch of MMA related stuff in a while but I don't think I've posted this one here. This drawing was created before Velasquez' showdown with Ben Rothwell.
Fighters Complain, Lie and Exaggerate

Let's be real, it sounds like many fans and fighters do not want to hear the truth. Many of us are aware that fighters rarely enter a fight 100%. That’s cool, we can accept that. But if a fighter comes out and casually reveals how he or she truly feels mentally or physically before a fight?!? Stop the presses, we’re talking about a major political gaffe. I understand we want a show. I understand that no one wants to hear excuses. But . . . damn. Really?
A veteran fighter like Mirko Filopovic states rather bluntly that he’s taking this fight on short notice, he doesn’t have enough time to train but he’ll do his best. He gets trashed by his opponent, Frank Mir and fans.
Pat Barry states he broke his hand and foot DURING his match against Cro-Cop and he gets trashed for his performance by Dana White, Cro-Cop and fans. I wonder what Dana White thought after Barry posted his post-fight casts via Twitter. On another note, Urijah Faber breaks his hands in a good match against Mike Brown and he’s applauded for being a warrior. Whatever. No real point there, I’m just saying.
After defeating Chael Sonnen in an epic 5 round one-sided fight he was losing, Anderson Silva states he had a rib injury. Whoa, talk about big mistake. Fans then lambast him for excuses, being afraid of Sonnen, his piss-poor wrestling and not to mention Silva’s outright refusal to speak, learn or try English -really??? How dare he continue to have his manager translate his post-fight comments. On another note, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua used his manager as a translator. During the 2nd Machida fight, he mentioned a knee injury in the post-fight presser which required surgery. Whatever. No real point there, I’m just saying.
I feel great, man. I haven't felt like this in a long time. It's been a good six, seven years since I felt the way I do now. The last time I felt like this was when I had my world title. You're going to see at the weigh-ins how good of a shape I'm in. I'm in really, really good shape. – Tito Ortiz
At this point in his career we know that Tito Ortiz tends to exaggerate the status on his health. But the last thing many people want to hear is the truth. Here’s a short list of things that affects a fighters performance that we just don’t want to hear . . . well depending on who they are.
- Death of family or friends.
- Their financial situation and the purse for their upcoming fight.
- Recent family problems.
- Lack of training partners and/or facilities.
- General health which includes injuries incurred during training.
- Mental problems.
In the end fighters complain, lie and exaggerate. We know they’re not supposed to but . . . come on, give them a break. Tim Sylvia hopefully learned this after his Randy Couture fight. In the end, he needed surgery. 9 times out of 10 Joe Silva and Dana White are pretty much aware of the pre-fight injuries. Dana White more or less picks whom he backs up in post-fight press conferences by publicly confirming fighters’ circumstances. White was never a huge Sylvia fan and it showed. When they offer information about how great they feel, there’s a chance that they’re probably reading a script to help sell the fight. Unfortunately some fighters have strong emotional impulses and may decide to tell the truth and/or speak their mind. And some fighters are simply not media saavvy. I don’t really have a strong end point or anything other than to say, jeez, give these guys a break. Yeah, including Tito Ortiz.

Boxers don't pull any punches and neither should those of us who train and write about these fearless warriors. Whether a championship is at stake or not, one- sided bouts in which a devastating puncher is at work must be halted, if not by the corner, then by the referee or doctor. Boxers must be protected from their bravery. The punishment that Briggs suffered on Saturday was so egregious and unnecessary that it was a blow to the gut to watch. It was enough to make a person feel guilty about being involved in the sport.

Can we give Ed Soares and Anderson Silva props?
Ok, if the gift that keeps giving, Chael Sonnen, turns out to be a cheater - which he is not until all the facts come out, can we say the following:
- Ed Soares is a classy guy. He's had all the opportunity to bury Chael Sonnen with insults but he decided to remain classy.
- "I'm going to consider the fight being a fight until told otherwise. If it is a mishap, I hope this whole thing gets straightened out.If this is true, I feel really bad for him. I don't think anybody is stoked to hear that, not even us. I'm bummed for him." -Ed Soares
- With his rib injury and an opponent with an unfair advantage, the middle weight champion, Anderson Silva still found a way to win after 4.5 rounds of getting pummeled.
Now I'm aware that fans and bloggers like to paint Soares has an evil manipulating manager behind the scenes, even some fighters like Vitor Belfort followed the I-Can't-Stand-Soares party line but after actually reading what he said and his direct quotes, you have to give the guy some respect. Note, Vitor Belfort later apologized for in inflammatory comments but that wasn't as heavily publicized or commented on as his initial statements.
As far as the middle weight champion. When he wins, he still loses. For some odd reason he's still blamed for UFC 90, although there has never been a fighter that has steam rolled Patrick Cote standing. He's still judged as an arrogant prick for some reason or another but has yet to insult Chael Sonnen or throw pot shots at other fighters in order to market himself as a great champion.
If Chael Sonnen is found guilty of using banned substances and does not offer a rational explanation that goes beyond the regular excuses we've heard before then shame on him. I don't think $2,500 will hurt a fighter like him but I wonder if ESPN will continue to stand by him? But the bigger question here is, will Soares get his respect and will Anderson Silva actually get props? I really doubt it, because the post-UFC 117 was never about Silva and people will find more reasons to dislike Soares for whatever reasons they have although we really do not know him. I'm just asking.

FORBES highlights Serial Entrepreneur Randy Couture
Wow, I did not know that Couture was a part owner of Round 5.
Silva, though, has rarely shown killer instinct in the last two years. Even his win over Griffin wasn’t devastating, though that wasn’t his fault. He hit Griffin with a jab while moving backward and stopped him.
Anderson Silva vs Demian Maia (or Thales Leites) same difference.
Dana White immediate reactions to UFC 112. He will talk to Anderson Silva in private conversation.

UFC 112: Invincible coverage
I really have to thank my fans, but I also ask people to understand that MMA is a sport. At times, we find people on the internet losing their composure because of a fight result, which isn't cool. After all, this isn't a fight. No one walks in there to kill anyone. I always do my best to respect my opponent, and Shogun has always proven to be very respectful. Supporters from both camps should understand that we train to win, but respect is also supremely important, and that is essential for the continued growth of the sport. In the end, when the fight and the rivalry are all said and done, we'll all get together and show that we're colleagues. If we wish to take the sport to the top, we must follow this line of thought.
INTERESTING KO FACT: Nogueira and Jardine
Both fighters have suffered a combined total of 12 knock-downs since 2007.
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira:
1. Nogueira was dropped from a Heath Herring head kick in his UFC debut on July 2007.
2. Tim Sylvia knocked down Nogueira in his loss via submission.
3. Frank Mir holds the distinction of being the first fighter to stop Noguiera dropping him 3 times in their 2 round fight. Staph Infection? Yes. Please remember that Diego Sanchez fought Josh Koscheck with a staph infection. I'm just saying.
4. Cain Velasquez KO'ed Noguiera within 2 minutes and 20 second in the UFC first event in Australia.
Keith Jardine:
1. In his UFC debut, after being knocked down, Houston Alexander closed the distance and pummeled Jardine, putting him to sleep back in May 2007.
2. After defeating the former LHW champion, KO artist Chuck Liddell via split decision, Jardine experienced some deja vu with Wanderlei Silva closing the distance and putting him to sleep via KO punch.
3. In a tough fight with another former LHW champion, Jardine suffered 2 knock downs during his unanimous decision loss to Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.
4. Waiting to for his opponent to drop his left hand, brazilian black belt, Thiago Silva dropped Jardine on route to a TKO victory. Jardine was left in the ring taking a short nap.
5. After a fairly competitive 2 rounds, TUF Season 8 winner, Ryan Bader made Keith Jardine's knees buckle with a KO punch. Yes, Keith Jardine's left hand was down.
Question: If you were a really close friend of Noguiera or Jardine, what would you tell them? Would you discuss taking a 6 - 12 month break from competition, retire altogether, or start training and get back in the cage?
I think Noguiera has 1 or 2 fights left. He has to realize that he has no speed and little to no mobility. Ok, yeah he looked great against Randy Couture. Let's just remember that Couture looked really great against Mark Coleman. Hmmm . . . Let's face it, Big Nog looked exactly the same against Frank Mir. Noguiera can easily have a successful career as an instructor or coach.
Jardine? Hmmm . . . I like him as much as I like Noguiera so as much as it pains me to say . . . take a year off or just retire altogether. Even if he did improve his boxing and learn the secrets of the sweet science from Emanuel Steward or jump on the bandwagon and train with Freddie Roach . . . that still won't solve the problem of his weak chin. WAIT A MINUTE. But he survived 3 rounds with Rampage and Chuck Liddell. Ok, his style worked perfectly against Liddell and he kept his distance and tore up Liddell with those leg kicks. Rampage? While Rampage has power, great boxing, he has an obvious problem against taller fighters with a nice reach advantage. Forrest Griffin anyone?
"I'll fight whoever they want. I'm not scared of winning or losing. I've been through all that, and I'm not hiding behind the belt. They even considered having me hand over the belt."
"Ed told me that Joe Silva said something about having me give up the belt, and that things would still be pretty much the same, but I'd be free to put on super fights or fight in a different weight class. However, we thought about it, and came to the conclusion that this was something I earned with a lot of sweat and tears. It wasn't something I did on a whim, and I'm not the champion on a whim."
"I think that would be disrespectful to the fans. I don't plan on giving up the belt, and I won't do it. I might lose it in my next fight or a little further down the road, but much like I won it, I hope someone else really wins it. I want it to be earned the same way I earned it."
Current drug testing done by state boxing commissions 'a joke'
Sorry if this is overkill or already posted here but I couldn't find it. USADA's Travis Tygart discusses testing.
Is Anderson Silva Ducking Fights in the UFC?!?
Apparently some fans and media have strong opinions on what Anderson Silva is thinking or feeling concerning his possible title matches. Some have suggested, like Dan Henderson, that Anderson Silva has been ducking some fighters. Certain statements that have been made by Ed Soares might suggest that Anderson Silva is not happy with facing certain fighters, but there's is nothing to suggest that he's outright refused to face an opponent.
The middle-weight champion faced two guys who probably did not deserve a title shot in Cote and Leites. He stepped up for the UFC to face James Irvin at 205 on short notice and defeated a former light-heavyweight champion in Forrest Griffin. Remember, James Irvin was not the Joe Silva's first choice as an opponent for the MW champ. Four LHW fighters turned down the opportunity to face Anderson Silva.
I don't know . . . so when I hear things like Anderson Silva is messing up the middle weight division with his fickle behavior, or his unwillingness to face certain fighters, my only response is WHAT?!? Where are you getting your information from? There's only two champions in the UFC actively seeking bigger challenges, BJ Penn and Anderson Silva. If anything else, blame Joe Silva and Dana White for the condition of the middleweight division, they set up his fights at 205lbs. Anyway forget for a second, everything that I just said and just pay attention to the words from the champ.
I want to fight and, if the doctor lets me to be back to training, I’ll train and I may fight with Dan Henderson, Vitor, I don’t choose opponent, dude. I’m here to fight anyone. If the weight matches, 195, or 205, or 185 pounds, if I have to fight, I’ll fight. Each one has an opinion and says what think is better, and I’m training to be back better than never to keep with my work, whoever my opponent is. I don’t have to prove anything to anyone. I get there to do my job and there’s nowhere to run, that our life. Of course I have my personal opinion about some people attitudes, but it has no influence on UFC’s decision to make one fight or other. I want to defend my title and my personal interests, of course, and you gotta have strategy inside and outside the octagon. I’m crazy to grab somebody, I’m crazy to kick asses. - Anderson Silva
The 200% elbow non-controversy? Whether you want to believe that he's using his elbow as an excuse to stall matches is another issue in itself. Many stories get leaked to the internet without verification. It is what it is, you will believe what you want. I'll just sit back and wait for the next time he enters the Octagon and face Vitor Belfort.
End note:
- Yes, I'm a fan.
- We already know that he's not facing Machida or Rogerio Noguiero
- He's not so crazy about fight his fellow country men.
- Does Matt Hughes still think he can match up against Anderson Silva?
- Dan Henderson? Nate Marquardt? Please???

Manny Pacquiao Weight Timeline
With all the speculation concerning Pacquiao's weight and body-type, I figured this short outline will bring clarity.
source-Wikipedia:
1995 - age 16 - 106lbs.
2001 - age 22 - 122lbs.
2003 - age 24 - 126lbs.
2006 - age 27 - 130lbs.
- 2007 - De La Hoya vs. Mayweather contested at 154lbs.
2008 - age 29 - 135lbs.
2008 - age 29 - 147lbs. (vs. Oscar De La Hoya - December 6th)
2009 - age 30 - 140lbs. (vs. Ricky Hatton - May 2)
2009 - age 30 - 145lbs. (vs. Miguel Angel Cotto - November 14)
Pacquiao won. I was completely wrong. Cotto showed up, he just didn't have an answer for Pacman's speeed, power and more importantly skill. Other than talk crap on the web with unsubstantiated sensational claims, I post drawings on my blog.
