Acme Packing Company Packers-Giants Playoff History

This should be a rather unique post. Tonight, I will be detailing Green Bay's history against the New York Giants in the NFL playoffs.

The game Sunday will be the seventh Packers-Giants playoff game. The only other team the Packers have faced in the playoffs as much as the Giants is the Dallas Cowboys, with six games. The Packers lead the playoff series against the Giants 4-2. More after the jump, with a game-by-game summary.

Canal Street Chronicles Book Review: Home Team

I just finished reading Sean Payton's book "Home Team". Before reading this, I must say I did not have much knowledge of what exactly went into the Saints of the last few years. And I must admit, there was far more than I expected.

I'll say more after the jump.

Windy City Gridiron Chicago Bears 2012 Opponents

With their 8-8 finish in third place in the NFC North Division, the Bears' opponents for 2012 are set. A few notes about their opponents for 2012:

-Panthers, Texans, Colts visit Chicago
-A return trip to Arizona ("They are who we thought they were, and we let 'em off the hook!")
-Trips to Tennessee, San Francisco.

The full list is after the jump.

Acme Packing Company Packers-Lions Series History: Games in Green Bay and Milwaukee (Part 3 of 4)

Well, people, this is it. We are down to my last two regular season Packers series history posts. Both will cover Green Bay's long history against the Lions. This is a continuation of the previous parts of the series, with Part 1 covering the series history in Detroit, and Part 2 covering the teams' history on Thanksgiving. Part 4 will be posted later this week.

As many of you know, the Lions haven't won in Green Bay since 1991. But what is Green Bay's home series against the Lions like? You will find out after the jump.

Acme Packing Company Packers-Bears Series History

Well, my fellow APC'ers, it is time for another Packers series history story. This time, I will be covering Green Bay's history against their most hated rival, the Chicago Bears.

Unlike the write-ups for the histories against the Lions or Vikings, I will not be making multiple series history write-ups for this one. Even if I were to combine the whole series history and divide it like I did the Lions or Vikings series, I would have to write probably close to several thousand words. So I will just do a series history overview between the Packers and Bears. This is because I was not making these write-ups at the beginning of the season. Next year...

More after the jump.

Windy City Gridiron Ask Acme Packing Company - Christmas Day Edition

Greetings, Bears fans. I am Vermont Cubs Fan, and I am here to answer any questions you have regarding our game on Christmas night. Ask any questions you like, and my fellow Packers fans and myself will answer them to the best of our abilities.

As for the Packers, Quarless, Sitton, and Jennings are all out. Jennings probably will be back in time for the playoffs, but the other two are done for the season. I'm curious to see whether or not the Bears will go with Cutler on Christmas or if they'll send Hanie out again.

As for Johnny Knox, I send best wishes for a quick recovery to him. Thankfully, he seems to be very lucky, in the sense that he will be playing football again. This is great, great news. I never hope to see any players injured that severely, especially on the Bears.

And lastly, on behalf of all of us at Acme Packing Company, let me be among the first to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas. I hope you will all be able to spend the holidays with your families.

Let's hope for a good game without any more injuries to either of our teams! Please recommend this so it stays at the top of the "FanPost" listing here at Windy City Gridiron.

Acme Packing Company Packers-Chiefs Series History

Well, my fellow APC'ers, it is time for me to write this week's "Packers Series History" post. Today, we will be covering the Packers' history against the Kansas City Chiefs, the last AFC team on the Packers' regular season schedule.

This series is widely known for Super Bowl I, but there are other good games in it. The Chiefs currently lead the regular season series 6-2-1, and the Packers lead the postseason series 1-0. More after the jump.

Acme Packing Company Packers-Raiders Series History

Well, boys and girls, it is Tuesday, and that means it is time for this week's version of my Packers series history report. Today, I will be covering Green Bay's history against the Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders.

This is a somewhat unusual series, in how it has played out. More after the jump.

Acme Packing Company Report: Ndamukong Suh Suspended For Two Games

As first reported by Jay Glazer, Lions defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh has been suspended for two games without pay for his stomping of Evan Dietrich-Smith's arm on Thanksgiving.

Suh will, if there is no appeal, miss the Lions' next two games, which are at New Orleans and at Detroit against the Vikings.

Suh has also been barred from any Lions practice facilities during the suspension.  I will update this as details get added, in case there's an appeal.  The suspension will cost Suh $164,000.  The Lions are also expected to fine Suh $25,000 as well.

Acme Packing Company Packers-Lions Series History: Thanksgiving Games (Part 2 of 4)

As mentioned in Part 1, I would write up Part 2 either today or Thursday. Today's post will talk about Packers-Lions games on Thanksgiving Day. Part 3 is now posted and Part 4 will be posted before the game on Sunday.

The two teams have been playing on Thanksgiving Day since the early 1950s. More after the jump.

Acme Packing Company Packers-Lions Series History: Games in Detroit (Part 1 of 4)

Owing to the extremely short week between games, I am having to rush two parts of my "series history" posts regarding the Green Bay Packers playing the Detroit Lions. Here's how the other three parts will look at this series' history:

Part 2: The Packers-Lions history on Thanksgiving Day.

Part 3: The Packers-Lions games in Green Bay and Milwaukee.

Part 4: General series overview.

I will post Part 2 later this week, depending on my schedule. I will post Parts 3 and 4 before the game in Green Bay.

More on the games in Detroit after the jump.

Acme Packing Company Forrest Gregg Diagnosed With Parkinson's Disease

According to a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, former Packers offensive tackle and coach and NFL hall of famer Forrest Gregg has been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.

Gregg played for the Packers from 1956-1971 and coached them from 1984-1987.  He also coached the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Bengals, taking the Bengals to a Super Bowl which they lost to the San Francisco 49ers.

Gregg earned the nickname "Iron Man" for playing in 188 consecutive games with the Packers.  He beat Melanoma in 1976 and colon cancer in 2001.

Be sure to send your best wishes to one of the best Packers offensive linemen of all time.

Acme Packing Company Sunday Night Football Open Thread: Patriots vs. Jets

Here is your game thread for the Sunday Night game between the New York Jets and New England Patriots.  Seeing as none of the NFC North teams are playing in this one, it might be worth it to watch if for nothing more than entertainment value.

The Jets appear to be on one of their hot streaks, while the Patriots are struggling.  As always, your predictions, and guesses for who will win are welcome!

Acme Packing Company Packers-Vikings Series History: Series Overview (Part 3 of 3)

At last, here is the third and final installation of my three-part series history about the Packers and Vikings.

This will be a general overview, with the series itself analyzed, with all the games examined and put into their proper context.  For links to the other two sections, here you go: Part 1, and Part 2.

And after the jump, there will be the series overview.

Today, I will be detailing the games in Green Bay and Milwaukee against the Vikings.  I mentioned this in Part 1, and you can find the series overview here in Part 3.

Acme Packing Company Green Bay Packers Series History: Falcons, Panthers, Broncos, Saints

I wanted to write about something, so I figured I would cover Green Bay's history against the opponents from earlier this season.  Instead of listing the opponents in the order they appeared on the schedule, I chose to rather list them in alphabetical order.

The series against the teams will be detailed after the jump.  I have to say, I am looking forward to writing another series recap next week against the Chargers, as that will be a real history recap instead of the comments about each series as shown here.

Acme Packing Company Packers-Vikings Series History: Games in Minnesota (Part 1 of 3)

I had been giving a lot of thought about how to make the "series history" post for this week and for the Lions (I don't have the same issue with the Bears, but that post is going to be very long).  I have decided to break the series history into three parts.  The first part will deal with games in Minnesota, the second part will deal with home games against the Vikings, and the third part will be a general overview of the series.

I have now posted both Part 2 and Part 3.

After the jump, the series against the Vikings in Minnesota will be detailed.

Acme Packing Company Packers-Rams Series History

Hey guys, I saw a post like this last week at The Falcoholic, so I figured I'd start making these kinds of posts each week for our opponents.

The Packers host the St. Louis Rams next week.  Oddly enough, this series has seen almost as many games between the teams as the Packers-Vikings series has.  A lot of this is due to the fact that the Packers and Rams played each other twice a year from 1937-1966 (with the exception of 1943, when the Rams didn't play), and then played each other almost every season until 1997.  After the jump, the details of this series.

The Falcoholic Ask Acme Packing Company

Greetings, Falcons fans.  I am Vermont Cubs Fan from Acme Packing Company, the Green Bay Packers' SB Nation blog.

I have to say, the upcoming game in the Georgia Dome next Sunday night is one of the games I'm looking forward to the most this young season, because of the potential of how exciting the game could be if both offenses show up.

Let me and other Packers fans be your guides to understanding your opponents for this game.  Ask any questions and we will answer them.  If I have any questions, I can either ask here at The Falcoholic or in the corresponding post at APC.

Please rec this so it stays at the top of the FanPost list.  Let's all hope for a nice, clean game, without any injuries.
