I am hitting .261/.362/.469 (.831) in 226 at-bats this year with 8 HRs, 19 2Bs and 2 3Bs. My K:BB ratio sits at 45:37. I am a plus fielder. I am known simply as Gabe. (The numbers just get better when you break them down for the platoon split and/or isolate their ABs in RF).

John Jaso's line for the past 28 days:
.250/.388/.441 (.829)
BABIP: .237(!)
Neutralized for luck:
.317/.442/.523 (.965)
He's sporting a 13:6 BB:K ratio during this period.

Wade Davis is sporting a 3.34 FIP during the last 4 weeks while putting up a 41:10 K:BB and a 9.46 K/9. The four homers he's given up are a little alarming, otherwise though he's looking very promising lately. I wonder how much longer until he cracks the rotation.

Bah, I wanted to do a bit more but duty calls and my internet is slow as balls. (that's right, I rhymed; what, you wanna fight about it?). While I know it's not much and nothing here is exactly eye-popping, I gotta say I'm glad to contribute something to a great site that I'm glad to say I've been able to read everyday since I've gotten here. You guys are doing a fantastic job and I appreciate the hell out of it. Aside from not being able to watch the actual games, I don't really feel like I've missed a whole lot. So thanks, seriously. Keep up the good work.

Grading on a curve: On a scale of one to 10, the Rays get a six for pulling off the trade for Joyce, but not yet addressing the departure of Trever Miller.
Arrivals: RF Matt Joyce and RHP Derek Rodriguez.

The Road Ahead: The Rays will continue try and improve their bullpen situation and their offense.

Well guys, I'm back. At least for the next couple of weeks of so anyway. Probably for good, who knows? Christmas exodus is finally here and the good Uncle Sam saw fit to grant every IET soldier 2 weeks of vacation. They do it every year. Its nothing out of the ordinary really, but I'll be damned if its not the greatest thing in the world to me right now.

It sucks on some other-worldly level that I missed out on the post-season. The old man who does head count in the cafeteria was nice enough to post the scores every other day or so. So it wasn't like I was completely oblivious as to what was going on. My heart still wept with every score I read and every game I knew I missed out on, though. So it probably would have been better if I had been in the dark.

I'm not the least bit upset that we lost the WS. Not even a little bit. Just knowing that we got there and won a pennant by beating the Red Sox is enough for me.

Lets see... +1 for letting Floyd, Miller, Hinske, and Rocco walk. Jackson for Joyce was fucking orgasmic. Good God I don't know how that man keeps pulling off deals like that.

Oh, yeah. Basic was cool. I got to shoot some bad-ass weapons. Grenade launcher, 50-cal, ect. Tossed a couple of live grenades. Camped out in the woods under my poncho for a few cold miserable nights. Led a tactical road march and an assault on this shanty town dealie (I was a squad leader for the last few weeks). Put on 18 lbs (so far) of muscle... It was fun. Kinda easy. Way easier than everyone made it out to be.

I'm in AIT now and we're allowed to have our electronics. So I just bought a new laptop and I shouldn't have any problem keeping up with the site. Believe it or not I actually missed it here. It was just one of the many little things I missed I suppose, but draysbay crossed my mind several times over the last three months or so. I'm glad to be back guys.

Riggans goes on DL

They probably wouldn’t have bothered last season, but putting Riggans on the DL gives the team some additional flexibility in formulating its postseason roster. Riggans isn’t likely to play again this season as he recovers from the infection that led to the surgery, and the Rays can now use his roster spot to add someone who wasn’t in the majors as of Aug. 31.

As of right now—and Joe Maddon emphasized that a couple of times—Evan Longoria is slated to start Game 1 of tomorrow’s doubleheader.

Longoria took some swings today and again felt fine, and he made it clear even before that exercise that he thought he was ready to go.

Top prospect David Price will join the Rays before tomorrow’s doubleheader and will be available to pitch.

Jonny Gomes also will join the Rays tomorrow after Durham’s season ended with a 20-2 loss to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre tonight. Jeff Niemann and Mitch Talbot will join the Rays on Monday in St. Petersburg, unless the Rays burn through so much pitching tomorrow that they need to summon Talbot as a backup for Sunday.
