Yet Another Lion picked up for DUI

73

For the sixth time this year, a Detroit Lion has been arrested. This time it’s Aaron Berry, a cornerback who was arrested early Saturday morning in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to WXYZ-TV in Detroit.

Urlacher may decide to test free agency in 2013

7

From the story: "I think (team president) Ted Phillips said when they had the owners meeting they're gonna wait until the season is over. See what happens, how I play (before addressing the contract situation)," Urlacher said Friday WMVP-AM 1000. "It's kind of exciting. I've never been a free agent. So if I can get to free agency we'll see what happens.

Otis Wilson to announce Bears 2nd and 3rd Round picks

+

The NFL has announced that Otis Wilson will be the former Bear on-hand to deliver the announcements of the 2nd and 3rd round draft picks by the team this Friday.

Okoye expected to move on

14

The Bears have hoped to re-sign Amobi Okoye but speaking on a conference call with season-ticket holders, the general manager said the defensive tackle likely is headed elsewhere. "Right now, Amobi is trying to decide which direction he is going," Emery said. "We've had conversations with him. So far, we have not been able to work out a deal. Amobi is probably going in a different direction."

Bears hire Tim Holt as offensive line coach

5

The Chicago Bears completed their 2012 coaching staff Wednesday, naming Tim Holt as their new offensive line coach. Holt has spent the last three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bears will interview Tice for OC job

3

"Bears offensive line coach Mike Tice is a candidate to become the team's offensive coordinator and is expected to be interviewed for the position, according to a team source." Thoughts?

Phillips reaching out to former Broncos GM Sundquist

38

Hopefully the Bears do their due diligence in the process, and not lock on early like they sometimes do.

Cutler's stitches are out, rehab underway

Jay says things are progressing as expected, but "time is not really on our side."

Kyle Orton's farewell to Denver

15

I thought this was good for a laugh.

Haynesworth(less) headed to the Bucs

+

Desperate to make the playoffs, or what? I honestly can't believe anyone is willing to give this guy yet another shot.

Bears won't sign Tinoisamoa...yet

15

The Bears say everything's A-OK with the new knee, but they're confident of the depth they have now with only 5 linebackers.

Tinoisamoa not the only LB at Halas today...

2

Looks like the Bears aren't so sure about Pisa, so they've got a local boy in for a look: Keaton Kristick

Pisa Tinoisamoa set to workout for Bears on Wednesday

29

Looks like he's ready to go, right on time after his knee reconstruction.

Peter King names Peppers Def player of the year

3

Peter King has named Julius Peppers as his Defensive player of the year. Both Peppers and Chris Harris are named on King's all-pro list. No mention of Urlacher for Comeback player of the year, but it's nice to get some recognition from someone who's been pretty critical of the Bears ever since we stunk it up last season.

Bears bring in punters to compete with Maynard

5

Per Brad Biggs: The Bears brought in four punters for a tryout Tuesday morning at Halas Hall, getting a look at candidates for a futures contract when the season ends. With veteran Brad Maynard positioned to be an unrestricted free agent, the Bears are expected to, at the minimum, introduce competition for the job. They got a look at four candidates in the kind of tough weather that Maynard has grown accustomed to in 10 seasons with the franchise. Follow the link for the whole article.

Bears / Pats moved to 3:15PM

6

Looks like "America's Game of the Week" is a big ratings draw, and suddenly the networks like the Bears.

Eagles at Bears game on Nov. 28 moved to 3:15pm CT

36

From Brad Biggs: "A two-game winning streak for the Bears, coupled with one of the most electric performances by a quarterback in the history of the NFL, has shifted the team's Nov. 28 game against the Eagles at Soldier Field into the prime 3:15 p.m. slot on Fox."

Jerome Bettis is a moron

2

In his column today, Bettis has just one little blurb to say about the Bears: Even though they're 2-0, the Bears are about a quarter away from imploding. It falls on their quarterback. Jay Cutler takes too many risks, is reckless with the football and may very well cost Lovie Smith his job. What exactly does he base this brilliant observation off of? Maybe he hasn't watched any of the games or seen the highlights this season, but I think it's pretty safe to say that Jay Cutler has been anything but reckless these past two weeks. I'm begging to beat the Pack, but I hope we do it cleanly and efficiently so yet another critic can shove it.
