The Angels, hosts of the 2010 Major League All-Star Game on July 13 at Angel Stadium, will kick off the season at home against the Twins with a four-game series starting on April 5.
The Athletics will pay the Angels their first visit for three games to complete the opening homestand.
Among the highlights of the schedule will be the familiar Interleague series, home and away, with the Dodgers, along with trips to Wrigley Field in Chicago and St. Louis' Busch Stadium.
Along with the Dodgers, who will grace Angel Stadium from June 11-13, the Angels will welcome Interleague foes Milwaukee (June 15-17) and Colorado (June 25-27) for three games apiece.
The Angels welcome the Dodgers for three games on June 11-13 before invading Dodger Stadium for a three-game series on June 22-24.
The Halos will launch Interleague Play with a three-game series against the Cardinals in St. Louis on May 21-23. Their three games against the Cubs in the Windy City will be staged from June 18-20.
Los Angeles will make two trips to Boston and New York. The Yankees come to Angel Stadium for three games on April 23-25, with Boston venturing into Orange County for a three-game extravaganza on July 26-28.
A four-game series with the Red Sox will rock Fenway Park on May 3-6, with a second trip to Boston for a three-game series arriving Aug. 17-19.
American League West rival Texas won't make its first trip to Anaheim until the last week of June, playing three games from June 29-30 and July 1. The Rangers return at the end of the month for another three-game set, July 30-31 and Aug. 1.
The Rangers make their final visit of the season on Sept. 20-22. The Angels visit Texas on May 17-18 for two games, returning July 22-25 for four and wrapping up the season in Texas with four games, Sept. 30 through Oct. 3.
The Angels wrap up their home schedule with a three-game series against Oakland on Sept. 27-29 "

Switch to 4-3
I dont post here much but i read all the time and I was think about next year if/when we resign or Franchise Merriman if we would switch to a 4-3
We could put Merriman at RE, Vaghn Martin at LE, and Williams and Castillo up the middle at DT. Then English could play ROLB, Cooper or Burnett at MLB, and Phillips at LOLB.
What do you guys think? Would this work?
sorry if this has already been discussed

Angels sign 40th overall pick LHP Tyler Skaggs
Tyler Skaggs, the standout left-handed pitcher from Santa Monica High who was selected 40th overall in the Major League Baseball first-year player draft, has agreed to undisclosed terms and will sign with the Angels today, according to his mother, Debbie Skaggs.
Skaggs was sidelined late in the high school season by an ankle injury, but he features an excellent curveball and fastball.

Cliff Lee to the Phillies (VERY close)
According to ESPN.com's Jayson Stark, the Phillies are moving toward a deal for Indians left-hander Cliff Lee. A handful of Phillies prospects were abruptly scratched from Triple-A Lehigh Valley's lineup Wednesday morning. If the rumors are true, it appears Lee is going to cost Philadelphia much less than what the Blue Jays were asking for Roy Halladay. "Phillies officials have continued to tell other clubs they believe they can make a deal for Lee without giving up either their top pitching prospect, Kyle Drabek," Stark writes, "or their top position-player prospect, outfielder Dominic Brown." Jul. 29 - 11:39 am et i guess now we are stuck getting Halladay : )

The Angels have scouted Aroldis Chapman
Aroldis Chapman isn't ready to sign with an MLB team yet, but once he is, the Angels will be interested, according to Mark Saxon of the OC Register. Angels scouting director Eddie Bane told Saxon that the Angels always have interest in top pitchers. They scouted Daisuke Matsuzaka and took a look at Stephen Strasburg even though there's no way he was falling to the Angels at 25th overall.
The Angels have already scouted Chapman and they're impressed with his fastball, but say he needs to develop his secondary pitches.
Angels interested in Venezuelan Catcher Gary Sanchez
The Angels, who initially had interest in catcher Gary Sanchez, were quiet as the international signing period opened yesterday. They fired international scouting director Clay Daniel last month after hearing he was under investigation for "improprieties in the signing of Venezuelan prospects."

Angels sign Mike Trout
The 25th overall selection by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim earlier this month in Major League Baseball's First-Year Player Draft, Trout had his physical in Southern California early Monday and was set to sign with the major-league team later in the day. The Angels have a press conference scheduled for Thursday to announce the signing.
Trout took a tour of Angel Stadium and met with front-office staff early Monday. Once signed, he was scheduled to fly to Arizona and be in uniform for today's Angels' Arizona League (rookie affiliate) game in Tempe. He also will play Wednesday before flying back to California for Thursday's press conference.
