We’ll never see a "traditional" playoff but what about this…

I don’t have this ironed out to exact science yet but I think it could have potential… What if College football added two games to the end of the schedule?

Have 2 weeks of “Conference Challenges” i.e. week 1: BIG10/SEC and week 2: BIG10/PAC10 or what ever you wanted to do… similar to the BIG10/ACC challenge in NCAA Basketball… at the end of regular season you match-up top to bottom BIG10 vs. the other 2 conferences you’re locked into that year and have the “Conference Challenge” this would had just 2 additional games and would not affect Bowl Season at all. All Bowls would remain traditional…

I think this would go a long way in narrowing down the possibilities for the BCS game in addition to show truths in conference strength… It would be a time where the BIG10, after beating on each other all year, could come together and compete as a team, so to speak…

I know there are a lot of holes in this idea but I think it could be a starting point.

Please feel free to rip it apart or add to the idea…

I couldn't find a line for this weeks game anywhere, probably because CC is D1 AA.

Anyway... I am in no way qualified to set lines but if I had to place this one I would go with PSU (-52).

I don't know anything about CC but I'm very confident our 1st team offense will score points and being that some of our 2nd team offense has guys that could be first team i think the subs will also score points. The defense is another question but if they give up anything i don't see it being more than a 7points. at (-52), i like the over...

Any thoughts?

Michael Robinson...

Here is a fun and entertaining article about MRob's debut in Live Television Broadcasting... This guy is what PSU is all about… This football team could use a couple more Michael Robinsons...

http://sports.espn.go.com/espnmag/story?id=3426990

One thing I found interesting is how he mentions that he often talks with JayPa... MRob has first hand experience with JayPa and obviously thinks he's a good coach... could it be?

Earlier this spring Mo Evans was named to the preseason All-American team and now this... Pretty cool to see Mo receive some much deserved love...

Rivals.com list Maurice Evans college footballs #6 "scariest defensive players." I thought is was nice to see Mo mentioned in this list and even more nice than that was eveyone elses defensive playboy - James Laurinaitis - was not in the top 10; he was however and honerable mention, right where he belongs...

It would have been interesting to see where Sean Lee would have been on this list...

I'm done with this Paterno contact non-sense

Football season, for me, starts on Friday when I make the 3 1/2 hour trip to the greatest place on earth and I'm fired up! The Paterno contract or lack there of has been exhausted. I don't see any need to revisit this issue until the 2nd or 3rd week in January. The off-the-field distractions have been well documented and also have also been exhausted. I would really like to get away from this stuff and start looking at what I think could be a very exciting year. Please let us know what you are seeing, hearing or what have you.

All I have to contribute right now is that early reports out of spring practice say Devlin has been the more mobile and faster of the 2 QBs, while Clark is just powerful.

Does anyone have any information on which QB has been a stronger passer this spring?

Please post any encouraging information you have at any position.

Thanks.
