Mariners season opener to be on ESPN2

I can't remember the last time ESPN had the Mariners on so that's nice.

Noesi to AAA, Farquhar up, Pryor to 60-Day DL

I guess Noesi is being stretched out again? And Farquhar is emergency in case Maurer or Safeco Joe struggle this weekend in Cleveland.

Non-Roster Invities Set

Notables include all of Cerberus, Zunino, Franklin, Miller, Romero and Carson Smith Also I didn't know John Hicks stole 22 bags last season. Pretty impressive for a C

UCLA game to start at 7:30PM

Remember to stay warm since it looks like the high is gonna be in the mid-30s with a low-20s low. The basketball game will start at 4:30 so that should be enough time to watch that, and head over to Martin for a quick bite/tailgate.

What's the Story Beind the Chomp?

Like the title says, what's the background of the Cougar Chomp thing we do during football and basketball games. I've been to games for two years now and I still haven't figured it out at...

18 year old Shohei Otani skipping the NPB for a MLB team

This should be an interesting thing to watch this winter. He's eligible to sign ASAP but is subject to the IFA $2.9 million budget. I want the M's to be in it but I have no idea how much we spent already. Maybe ownership will say, screw it and go balls out for him and pay the penalties that come with blowing the cap number out of the water. But that's probably wishful thinking

UL-Monroe running a double QB formation

With all these Tuel vs Halliday debate, I"ll throw in a third option; why not both?

Colorado game on FX

Another game on national TV. This TV deal just gets on getting better and better Also don't forget to vote for the homecoming jersey combo

That new white outline really makes the logo pop out more

Sorry for the low quality photo. I took this picture with a potato (AKA iPod Touch). But the new logo on the 50-yard line looks great. Also on some things I saw during my lunch. Jake Rodgers' mullet is still looking great and Toni Pole is a huge guy. And a guy who looks like Robert Barber is walking with a giant brace but at least he's walking now.

Omar Vizquel wants to manage next season

Apparently, Vizquel still lives in the Seattle metro area. He wants to manage for a team he played for once. So that leaves Seattle, Cleveland, Texas, San Francisco, and Chicago. I don't think Wedge is in danger so Cleveland is the most likely spot. Maybe the Mariners can convince him to manage in AAA or AA for a year.

U of I likely going independent next year.

They really should go back down to FCS and the Big Sky but if they really want to stay independent until they find a new FBS conference, I wouldn't mind a few more games against them. Definitely not alternating home sites, but maybe 2 in Pullman for every 1 in Moscow. Even if we have to go to Moscow, it would still basically be a home game because of the lack of travel. I'm sure the students would come out and walk/drive/bus it to the Kibble Dome

And the first Trade Felix article of the trade season is here

Brace yourself, there will be a few articles a day until July 31.

Moyer DFA by Rockies

Slightly OT but this is probably it for Moyer. Although I would love to see Moyer signed to a Minor League deal so he can get one start in September in Seattle.

Olivo activated, Wells to AAA per Baker

What the hell. Why is Chone Figgins still on the roster? I guess more Alex Liddi in left field. Figgins can't survive both Olivo and Guti being activated right?

Mariners sign Carlos Guillen

Oh, no! What does this mean for Munenori Kawasaki?
