The Phinsider Henne or Snatchez who is the better QB?

For as many people here that are thinking that Henne sucks now, there are just as many Jets fans thinking that Sanchez is the second coming of Joe Nameth. I personally beleive that if Sanchez came to Miami with the way our offensive surrounding cast is playing and our suck Azz OC, Sanchez would sink like a rock (ala Thigpen). My question is (without being biased) if the chance prevailed would you straight up trade Henne for Sanchez?

The Phinsider Marino to the Jets

Yes, I know this title is a little misleading but it got your attention didnt it. Im sure everyone here knows the whole debacle surrounding Brett Favre and Minnesota going into Green Bay and beating his old team, so I wont get into details, but in some ways the way Green Bay let go of their icon Brett Favre to start their young promising QB Aaron Rogers reminds me of the way Wanstache dumped Marino for Feidler, Any way the two QBs definitely took two separate routes with Marino not wanting to retire and pondering the idea of playing for Minnesota, but instead eventually retiring. Brett Favre decides to stay in the game and eventually ending up playing for Green Bays divisional rival (Minnesota) and coming into town and beating them. Now most of Green Bay hates him (as seen from the boos at the beginning of the game Sunday).

My question is had Marino decided not to retire when he did, and landed on a division rival the way Brett Favre did, and came into town and spanked us the way Minnesota did on both the away game and home game would he still be an icon in South Florida. Would you eventually forgive him and say he got the bad end of the stick from the Dolphins FO? Or consider him a trader for life?

The Phinsider Related to Dolphins Player?

Its hard to believe that with how many Dolphins players there are (past and present) and all the friends and family members they have that are Dolphins fans, and as many members this site has, that this site doesnt have any Dolphins players (past or present), or Dolphin Players (past or present) family or friends that frequent this site. I mean this is one of the best sites to get info about my Fins, and you would think relatives, friends of Dolphins players (even dolphins players) would come to this site to get all of the latest info.
So, heres what Im proposing. If you are a Dolphins Player, relative of a player, or close friend of a player now is the time to come out of the closet. Nobody here will criticize you or treat you differently unless you are Saban or Cam Cam. If you are just a reader and not a poster join in. We'd love to hear what you have to say.

Would Bill Cower be an intimidating coach to have in the AFC East?

Battle Red Blog Good job guys!

Dolphins fan here! I can honestly say you guys are a class act. Some of us fans (including myself) were running our mouths saying there is no way the Texans beat our newly ravamped Fins (especially w/ the wildcat). And I havent seen one fan over at our site to rub it in. Thank you. Im so used to dealing with Jets and Patsie fans I forget that there are fans out there that dont talk alot of smack. I can tell you your team is is on the way to being a very good team and the aquisition of Schaub looks alot better than his QB rating did before this week. Maybe we'll see each other in the AFC championship next year (hopefully its in Miami).

The Phinsider Fins still gettin no respect

The Vegas line has us as 3 point under dogs against the 0-4 Texans. WTF! We just held the NFL's highest scoring offense to 10 pts when they have been averaging 35+ points per game. We just beat two potentially playoff caliber teams. Its beginning to feel like we could beat the Giants in their own house and still get no respect. They would say the Giants were having an off day.

Thats OK, Ill show those idiots that make the Vegas line and place a huge bet on my Phins to cover the spread. This is my PICK of the week. BET THE HOUSE because not only are we gonna cover the spread we are gonna casturate those Bulls.

The Phinsider In just 15 hrs the anticipation will be over

The anticipation that started when last season ended with the dolphins having a 1-15 record. Yet we all had hope because we had Bill Parcells was sitting in the sky box evaluating everything just waiting to pounce on this Dolphins team mold it into a fresh new team that we all have been wanting for so many years.

Everybody here (myself included) had no expectations from this team in 2008 because we are in "rebuilding mode" and we either traded or released all of the older players that we had grown to love and depend on through the years, and inserted  promising youth in their places. 5-11 or 6-10 is basically what everyone was expecting anything else is icing on the cake because we are "rebuilding".

Then the first game Preseason rolls around and it was better than I expected on Defense, but exactly what I expected on Offense. We Insert Chad Penny into the Offense in the second Preseason game and all of a sudden we have a very efficient Offense throughout the rest of Preseason. Not great but efficient. But efficient enough when combined with the way our defense played ( ranked 2nd in total defense) throughout the preseason I start to second guess my original thoughts of 5-11 or 6-10.

Now Im feeling 8-8 or 9-7 (with the possibility of a playoff berth) is actually realistic. Maybe Im just a homer (like every other year) but I feel this team really has the potential to do a lot of damage this year. Who would've thought that we would have any hope for this year after trading / releasing ZT and JT.

But tomorrow after the game we should have a good indicator of how good this team really is and if preseason was just  "preseason".

What do you guys think? .Are we gonna kick ass and take names this year or are we just gonna just be happy with 5-11 or 6-10 because we are "rebuilding".

The Phinsider Dolphins 2.5 - 3pt under dogs in Vegas

http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/las-vegas/?s=444

Can anyone say surprise team. Its great I love us being the under dogs. I am placing a $1500 bet on the Fins. We are gonna spank the Jets. We are going to send them home with their tails between their legs. Who's with me on this? GO PHINS!!!!

Someone (Matty I) needs to take this 75 word minimum out of this Fan post because for us slow typers with not a lot to say it can be a real pain in the ass.

The Phinsider Pats release John Lynch and Chad Jackson

What do ya think?

Dont know a whole lot about CJ and I haven't seen too much of John Lynch to see if at his age he would be an upgrade to J Allen and co. Thought I would throw it out there to see what every one else thinks.

The Phinsider Despite what others think (including other dolphans)

I think we are going to have one helluva season this year. Last year going into the season we didnt have that bad of a team. We just had a new head coach that could'nt manage the game very well  that couldnt earn the teams respect(Im trying to be nice), a ton of injurys at some key positions, and a so so offensive line and no Ricky Williams ( Albiet Ronnie did exceptionally well, but he is no Ricky).

Now look at what we have: Bill Parcells and Co. who demand respect from their players and emphasize on team work. A way better offensive line (at least on paper so far), Ricky Williams in what appears to be back in rare form, Chad Pennington who I think is going to be the best QB weve had since Marino (showing up well in Preseason games), Ted Ginn which is poised to have a breakout season (receiving and return game), and a "No Name Defense" which has been rockin all preseason with the starters allowing only 7 pts in three games. And yes I know its only Preseason but show me other teams allowing only 7 pts with their starters in 3 preseason games. Tony Sparano has this team believing in themselves and that will also go a very long way.

Yeah, Maybe Im fooling myself and maybe we'll suck out this year, but this optimism feels great. a helluva lot better than thinking we're going to go 5-11 or 6-10. I think we go a minimum of 9-7. And I will stand by that until we have 8 losses under our belts because thats what being a true Miami Dolphin fan is all about.

OK, Who's with me? And whatta ya think? GO DOLPHINS

The Phinsider Ricky or Ronnie

If Ricky Williams is back in rare form (The awesome beast of a running back he was in his 1800+ season) which he appears to be who would you start Sept 7 against the Jets and who would you want as the 3rd Down back. Ricky or Ronnie?

Its a hard decision for me because I think hands down Ricky in his zone is a way better running back than Ronnie. But demoting Ronnie back to 3rd down back would be a slap in the face.

The Phinsider How did you become a Dolphan?

Me? I moved down here (to S. FL) from N.C. with my family when I was 2 years old (In 1972). And of course my grandfather and uncles jumped on the 72 dolphins bandwagon and eventually became Die hard fins fans. The funny thing they always tried to get me to watch football and the fins and I wanted no part of it at least until I turned 15. One day my uncle got me to sit down and watch the Dolphins play and got me watching this fairly new QB who had an arm like a cannon and I just sat there in utter astonishment about how great this QB was (Everybody knows who that was) and Ive been hooked ever since.

Ive noticed that there are alot of fans out of state and I would bet alot of you would have alot of crazy and or interesting stories on what made you become a fan of the best damn sports franchise in the world. Me I just got lucky.
