Marino to the Jets

Yes, I know this title is a little misleading but it got your attention didnt it. Im sure everyone here knows the whole debacle surrounding Brett Favre and Minnesota going into Green Bay and beating his old team, so I wont get into details, but in some ways the way Green Bay let go of their icon Brett Favre to start their young promising QB Aaron Rogers reminds me of the way Wanstache dumped Marino for Feidler, Any way the two QBs definitely took two separate routes with Marino not wanting to retire and pondering the idea of playing for Minnesota, but instead eventually retiring. Brett Favre decides to stay in the game and eventually ending up playing for Green Bays divisional rival (Minnesota) and coming into town and beating them. Now most of Green Bay hates him (as seen from the boos at the beginning of the game Sunday).

My question is had Marino decided not to retire when he did, and landed on a division rival the way Brett Favre did, and came into town and spanked us the way Minnesota did on both the away game and home game would he still be an icon in South Florida. Would you eventually forgive him and say he got the bad end of the stick from the Dolphins FO? Or consider him a trader for life?

Its hard to believe that with how many Dolphins players there are (past and present) and all the friends and family members they have that are Dolphins fans, and as many members this site has, that this site doesnt have any Dolphins players (past or present), or Dolphin Players (past or present) family or friends that frequent this site. I mean this is one of the best sites to get info about my Fins, and you would think relatives, friends of Dolphins players (even dolphins players) would come to this site to get all of the latest info.
So, heres what Im proposing. If you are a Dolphins Player, relative of a player, or close friend of a player now is the time to come out of the closet. Nobody here will criticize you or treat you differently unless you are Saban or Cam Cam. If you are just a reader and not a poster join in. We'd love to hear what you have to say.

Dolphins fan here! I can honestly say you guys are a class act. Some of us fans (including myself) were running our mouths saying there is no way the Texans beat our newly ravamped Fins (especially w/ the wildcat). And I havent seen one fan over at our site to rub it in. Thank you. Im so used to dealing with Jets and Patsie fans I forget that there are fans out there that dont talk alot of smack. I can tell you your team is is on the way to being a very good team and the aquisition of Schaub looks alot better than his QB rating did before this week. Maybe we'll see each other in the AFC championship next year (hopefully its in Miami).

The Vegas line has us as 3 point under dogs against the 0-4 Texans. WTF! We just held the NFL's highest scoring offense to 10 pts when they have been averaging 35+ points per game. We just beat two potentially playoff caliber teams. Its beginning to feel like we could beat the Giants in their own house and still get no respect. They would say the Giants were having an off day.

Thats OK, Ill show those idiots that make the Vegas line and place a huge bet on my Phins to cover the spread. This is my PICK of the week. BET THE HOUSE because not only are we gonna cover the spread we are gonna casturate those Bulls.

In just 15 hrs the anticipation will be over

The anticipation that started when last season ended with the dolphins having a 1-15 record. Yet we all had hope because we had Bill Parcells was sitting in the sky box evaluating everything just waiting to pounce on this Dolphins team mold it into a fresh new team that we all have been wanting for so many years.

Everybody here (myself included) had no expectations from this team in 2008 because we are in "rebuilding mode" and we either traded or released all of the older players that we had grown to love and depend on through the years, and inserted promising youth in their places. 5-11 or 6-10 is basically what everyone was expecting anything else is icing on the cake because we are "rebuilding".

Then the first game Preseason rolls around and it was better than I expected on Defense, but exactly what I expected on Offense. We Insert Chad Penny into the Offense in the second Preseason game and all of a sudden we have a very efficient Offense throughout the rest of Preseason. Not great but efficient. But efficient enough when combined with the way our defense played ( ranked 2nd in total defense) throughout the preseason I start to second guess my original thoughts of 5-11 or 6-10.

Now Im feeling 8-8 or 9-7 (with the possibility of a playoff berth) is actually realistic. Maybe Im just a homer (like every other year) but I feel this team really has the potential to do a lot of damage this year. Who would've thought that we would have any hope for this year after trading / releasing ZT and JT.

But tomorrow after the game we should have a good indicator of how good this team really is and if preseason was just "preseason".

What do you guys think? .Are we gonna kick ass and take names this year or are we just gonna just be happy with 5-11 or 6-10 because we are "rebuilding".

Can anyone say surprise team. Its great I love us being the under dogs. I am placing a $1500 bet on the Fins. We are gonna spank the Jets. We are going to send them home with their tails between their legs. Who's with me on this? GO PHINS!!!!

Someone (Matty I) needs to take this 75 word minimum out of this Fan post because for us slow typers with not a lot to say it can be a real pain in the ass.
