"Chaos N. Suh"
so Bill Simmons(the sports guy from page 2 of ESPN.comaka the mother ship) Boston reporter put his picks and power ranking up for this week. 3 bullet points for Suh if you are counting. ha ha ha. By the way I tried to post this once already. So, if it drops twice I'll have to erase it. I think the nick name "Chaos N. Suh" is pretty genius. His friend Gus apparently came up with it. My room mate and I thought I should ask for POD's input to see what you guys think. I for one, can already hear Berman's retarded voice in my head durring highlights. So what do we think Gentleman?
Barry wearing no 17?
on the nfls all time greatest players list. incase you didnt see on nfl.com. I see it somewhat fitting seeing as how many people pull the he quit on his team or retired too early arguments whenever I bring him up. there is a near 5 minute video on him. let me know what you guy think? rated too high? too low? is he the greatest ball carrier of all time? did you feel betrayed when he walked away? did you read his book? do you care that they were dismantling the team in the late years of his prime? did he betray the lions? did the lions betray him?

It look like the Vikes are making moves
In the article below the Vikes traded DB depth of Benny Sapp for a 50 catch wide out. Looks like they are spinning from these injuries to their wide reciever core. What does this change if anything? I see that defense aging and the depth thinning. Pushing them closer to the area where you lose one guy and feel a real impact. (something we are very used to.) While I don't think Camarillo is the be all end all, he def helps relieve some of the pressure they are feeling at skill positions. What if any formations and packages do we use to exploit their thinning depth? The types of packages we have put together with all of these new weapons, of course. Spread em out and cut em up! I am pretty hyped for this year. Lets hope we get some bounces and take advantage of these good breaks for once. Not that I want Harvin and company to be hurt. (accept when they play us ofcourse)

ESPN Suh agrees to terms
Suh and Lions agee to terms on a 5 year contract. looks like the big guy is gonna come to camp. whether or not this has anything to do with Dom and Schwartz talking about this in the media I don't know. however I am really happy this deal is making strong moves. Lets get this guy in here and build the chemistry needed to win consistantly. Also Everyone seems really impressed with Best and that makes me very happy!
ESPN: Farve to retire.
I for one am truly happy if this is the case. i can't stand Farve watch. It always seems like a way to stroke his ego. I also have a bad taste in my mouth because he was a Packer. However there is no denying the statistical prowess of the man. Nor his toughness. He is and always will be a legend. Your thought my friends? It is a very long time coming. Also, This drasticly improves our position in this division.
32 in 32 DET

Schefler says stafford has comand of huddle
Our new receiving threat has a lot of hope like all of us here at POD. He draws comparisons in arm strength to Jay Cutler. (while I think Cutler is a jerk no one questions his arm strength.) The thing I like most is that Matt has the respect of the veterans in the huddle. Its a large part of being a QB especially if your team is losing. He also hopes, as we do, that he will get the chance to stretch the field. TE's with speed can really hurt cover 2 and blitzing schemes. Which we see a lot of. I am very excited about the combinations of size and speed that we can throw at defenses, also, the packages of both. Mathew has weapons. we are gonna see what he's got. Here is to competeing for 16 games and pushing for 6-9 wins. 6 is reasonable. 9 would make my year.

why we haven't contacted sharper?
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5161071
so sharper had micro fracture knee surgery according to this article. not only is he aging. but, he has major knee issues. Besides the fact that he runs that true center field free safety ball hawk that doesn't fit the Detroit lions defense. I thought people would be interested in reading this. Which is why the vet hasn't found a landing pad. so he heads back to the big easy
In his latest mock draft
Tod Mcshay has us picking a lot of players I like. I just don't see Witherspoon and Hardesty getting to us. . . .
http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft10/insider/news/story?id=5120759
Either way the burner is on hi and I can't wait to see how this stew comes out. Go Lions! Lets
2 Suh
34 Witherspoon
66 Hardesty
what do you guys think? Is this possible? If so would you be happy with that top 3? If not who is taken too early?
So I met J.T. O'Sullivan
Today. I install home theater systems in San Diego. I figured I would post this cause he was a really polite, humble guy. He still has the crazy long surfer hair. He just had a child, and from what I could see was a pretty attentive father. He was totally a typical laid back So-Cal. kind of guy. He was still in playing shape however I don't know if he got picked up after he was with the Bengals last year. I don't want to go too much into specifics on where he lives because I could lose my job. Anyhow, it was the first Lion or ex-Lion I have ever met. Most of the guys I meet are Chargers and its always a 50/50 if they are cool or completely rude. I like meeting athletes that are personable. So, there you go.
on the whole Berry vs Suh arguement
so in the whole argument I think its a toss up. I was a D-lineman in my time and know how valuable they can be. I also know how tough it can be to get after a QB when he drops 3 steps and gets the ball out every time. I think that its a wash. both are good. Both help each other. Lets let "The Mastermind" and The Schwarts tell us if its so close. Anyways this is something I said in response to the whole you can't draft a safety this high argument.
you gotta measure safeties a couple of couple ways. they're hybrids of good cover backers and physical jam and hit corners. If you can find guys who can cover better than their size and can tackle and lay wood harder than their size they are studs(see ed reed, bob sanders, poloicantspellyournamealuuu). that's it. they murder a guy who catches the ball on a double move. they fill a hole when the front 7 wiffs. they tackle a guy for an 8 yard gain instead of a 40 yard TD. that is no less important than an average or even good corner. in fact they make corners better because corners aren't scared to make mistakes. They make line backers better because they can be more aggressive in the run game. They give the defensive line more time to hit a qb. they change every play by half a second. they give the offense more attempts. They make teams better. Is taking a safety at 2 pretty high? yes! Is it unreasonable no! Now is Suh or Berry more of an impact player?!?! Thats the only real question! I am at a toss up!!!!!
I truly wish people would think about it and
drop the whole big free agent name thing. Any pro bowl caliber player won't want to come here in free agency. The only way to get a Dunta Robinson is to over pay him. We need to stick to the plan.
1) Draft the best players we can get our hands on in the draft.
2) Draft players that fit our scheme. (Big defensive players who physically dominate the opposition and versatile weapons on offense and a stronger O line.)
3) Get free agents that will help stabilize our team. (No big names or contracts that just get your cap screwed up when you have a bad record)
If you want this to be a destination that players like Peppers, Dunta Robinson, and the like would want to go. Then please root for us to have another stellar draft class. This improves our young base. It gives us a future. Makes us flexible for the future to be able to add pieces that are needs. We have so many current needs that we just need to keep adding talent. I think if we draft as well this year as we did last year we can win 5 games. And then we repeat the process. I am for trading out of the 2nd pick if it gives Jim Schwartz and the front office the chance to continue to build. And please drop the 3-4 arguments. Its almost as insane as saying lets run a power I, and then the year after that the spread. This is why we have so many players who don't fit. STICK TO THE PLAN THAT WE WERE ALL SO INTO LAST YEAR. AND KEEP IT SIMPLE. Here is to the new regime not making the same stupid mistakes that put my beloved Lions in this crappy situation! That's my take and I approve this message.

If there is one player we should
to open their pocket books for this off season I think its Dunta Robinson. He's a number one corner testing the free agent market. I know that it is a long shot for us to bring in high quallity free agents. (I'm pretty sure we are to the point where we have to over pay free agents to get them in the door.) But, if there is one guy on the market I like it's him. Imagine having Delmas, Robinson, and Berry as a secondary next year. Then all we need is to find o quallity pass rusher in the draft and our defense would only be average instead of the worst in the league. Maybe I am just dreaming. . . But its the off season what else do I have to do? (this is my first ever post on this site so let me know what you think)
