Athletics Nation Who will be the A's all-star?

After looking at the votes to date for the all-star game, it doesn't look like we will have anyone from the fan voting. Looking at the numbers we don't even have anyone listed in the top vote getters yet. Kinda sad, but it has been a very down year. Too bad Harden went down early, he'd probably have the most votes. What do you think?

Athletics Nation Spring Training: Observing Billy Beane

While attending spring training games (today and last year) I've made it a habit to observe Billy Beane during the games. He tends to sit in the front row seats behind home plate. Reminiscent of descriptions from Moneyball, Billy doesn't seem to actively watch the game. With his back to the game, I've seen him spend most of his time speaking with scouts, talking on his cell phone, chewing tobacco, and occasionally signing something for a fan, as if the game was secondary and just in the background.  I know it's just spring training, but it seems to validate some of Lewis' points from Moneyball. Has anyone else noticed these tendencies? Nevertheless, I recommend it, watching our idolized GM at the games is entertaining.

Athletics Nation Anyone Going To Opening Day A's Spring Traning?

I will be at the game tomorrow and was wondering if anyone else from AN will be in attendance? I'm in Section 7, Row 16, Seat 11 if anyone wants to say hello. I'm hoping to see Billy up close as I did last year. I can also post updates on how players are looking if anyone is interested, as I will be attending no fewer than 6 A's games this spring. And people say there's nothing to do in Phoenix....
