I was raised in the Bay Area my whole life. As much as I hate to admit it, I once supported the Lakers. However, in my defense that was back when I was young and I only liked them because they were my dad's favorite team. After the incident with Kobe and the woman in Colorado I stopped supporting him. Then he drove Shaq out of town and I stopped supporting the team in its entirety. I gave up on basketball and the NBA completely for a few years, until my friend took me to my first Warriors game. It was in the beginning of the '05-'06 season and I instantly fell in love with the team.

Since then I have been a die hard Warriors fan. I'll admit that they aren't the best team in terms of winning percentage or championships, but I've never found a team that I cared about as much. My passion comes from my loyalty to the Bay area as well as my love for the players on the team. While I don't agree with many of the moves that the front office has made over the past few years, I strongly believe that this team has what it takes to win a championship one day. I don't know when that day will come, but I will tirelessly support them my entire life until it does.

One last note, I pride myself on knowing a lot about every team in the NBA, so if you are going to make an ignorant claim (like 99% of the Lakers fans that exist) I will call you out.

Golden State Of Mind Don't Trade Biedrins for OKC's Expirings

So there is that rumor (started by ESPN) saying that we should trade Andris Biedrins (& Lou Amundsen) to the Thunder for Nenad Kristic and Morris Peterson just to get out of Biedrins' contract so we have cap space in the offseason. I can't say I like that idea.

I hate how we've given away EVERY SINGLE PIECE of that glorious WE BELIEVE team for absolutely nothing in return.

Quick recap:

Jason Richardson --> Brandan Wright...aka NOTHING!
Baron Davis ----------> Corey Maggette -------------> Charlie Bell, Dan Gadzuric...aka NOTHING!
Al Harrington --------> Jamal Crawford -------------> Speedy Claxton, Acie Law...aka NOTHING!
Stephen Jackson --> Raja Bell, Vladimir Radmonovic...aka NOTHING!
Matt Barnes ----------> NOTHING!
Mickael Pietrus -----> NOTHING!

At this point, I'll agree that Biedrins is not the player that any of us want him to be, but trading him for those expiring contracts is going to be a BAD idea. Believe it or not, we WILL get worse this year. And then once those contracts come off the books (along with most everyone else on our roster...) we'll be left with nothing but a ton of cap space for the off season. This may be a good idea, until you realize that we are still the Warriors, and that no one who has any real value will want to sign with us unless we overpay them (a la Corey Maggette). Then that player would under-produce and before you know it everyone will be calling for their head and demanding that they be traded for more expiring contracts so we can continue this vicious cycle again and again.

The fact of the matter is, as bad as Biedrins has played this year, we still need him on this team. We don't have a better option at center right now (and as far as I know, there aren't any better centers in the league who are on the trading block). Anyone out there who thinks that we will land DeAndre Jordan in the offseason is foolish.

So in short, I am against trading Andris Biedrins for expiring contracts because in true Warriors fashion, this team either will not or won't be able to do anything with any of the cap space that it would made.

Golden State Of Mind Why not start Carney?

So far we've lost 3 games in a row (NY, @LAL, DEN) and now our Warriors are off on a 3 game road trip against 3 teams that we should be able to beat, but with the way we've been playing recently even 1 win seems like it would take a lot of luck or just a terrible shooting night from the opposing team. It's obvious that this team misses David Lee, but until he gets back we need to stay competitive. We shouldn't be dropping games against teams that we can beat.

The problem is clearly at the PF spot. Without Lee, Amundsen, and Udoh we are getting abused every night at that position. Trying to play BWright, Vladi, and Adrien at the 4 isn't producing the results we need. Therefore, I have a proposal for a new starting line-up.

1: Curry

2: Ellis

3: Carney

4: DWright

5: Biedrins

I think this would work better than starting both Biedrins and Gadzuric. Dorell Wright is 6'9, and I think that he has the best shot out of anyone on this team of stopping the opposing team's PF. Also, this gives Carney some burn and a chance to prove what he's got. I think if given the minutes this kid will surprise us. Another advantage of doing this is that it allows us to keep Reggie off the bench as our 6th man and have Adrien back up DWright at the 4. Also, as much as I hate him, this would allow us to put in Vladi at spot minutes at the 3/4/5 just to see if he's going to get hot from 3.

So my question is why not start Rodney Carney?

Golden State Of Mind Ways to cope with Lakers Fans

I am a long time die hard Warriors fan who grew up in the Bay Area loving this team from the days of J-Rich, Antawn Jamison,  and Gilbert Arenas to the current trio of Monta Ellis, Steph Curry, and Anthony Randolph. However, this year I had to leave the Bay to go to college, and unfortunately I ended up in So-CAL. I don't have any complaints about the college or So-CAL in general, it just pisses me off how many Faker fans there are down here. Instead of seeing Richardson, Davis, and Ellis jerseys everywhere all is see is Kobe. That alone is ignorable, but over the course of the season it became evident that I am a Warriors fan and ever since then I've been taking crap from all these so called "Laker Fans."

I put it in quotes because as many of you know, there is no such thing as a real Lakers fan. People only like that team because they win all the time and because they have no idea what basketball is really about. Try asking any of them to name 5 other Lakers than Kobe and they have no idea what's going on. It gets worse when they claim that their team is better than my team. Really? Are you serious? How can you even claim that a team is yours if the only player you can name is Kobe Bryant?

This FanPost was really just created for me to get my feelings out on the matter. I was just wondering if any of you have had to deal with Faker fans like this and have any advice on how to put up with them. I'm stuck here for another month so any help would be appreciated...

A Request For tony.psd

Hey tony.psd I am a huge fan of your work and the Golden State Warriors in general. I just received NBA Live 09 for the Xbox 360 this Christmas and I was disappointed to see that it has Tony Parker on the cover. I mean don't get me wrong I think he's a great player and all but I have always wanted a Warrior to be on the cover. I love the NBA Live games (2k just isn't for me) and I saw your cover for NBA 2K9 and I was really hoping that you could make one for NBA Live 09.
