Great news if you ask me. As said in the article, now Hue can focus on just coaching.

Warriors ready to give Deandre Jordan an offer.
At $10 million, I'd be happy with DJ. Maybe Clips don't match?
Cutler broken thumb
Cutler's out just in time for this weeks game. Our chances of winning this week against the Bears just shot up tremendously. Good thing he was healthy enough to beat the Chargers today!

Curry selected to participate in Skills Challenge
Curry along with Rose, Westbrook and Wall will participate in the Skills Challenge. Congrats to Steph. Represent us well!
Warrior games in Sacramento
Does anyone know if Warrior games are broadcast in Sacramento? To be more specific, Comcast is my cable provider and I get both CSN California and CSN Bay Area. I used to live in the bay and obviously Warrior games were broadcast on CSN Bay Area but I would also get Kings games on CSN California. So now I'm wondering if up in Sacramento Warrior games are also shown. Any input helps. Thanks guys!
Del Negro to Clips
I know some of you wanted Del Negro to coach the Dubs, but alas, he is going to La La Land.
Pierce to opt out.
Dirk too.

Doesn't have much to do with us since we can't sign them, but I thought it was fanshot worthy.
NBA League Pass Broadband
I have a question about NBA League Pass broadband, and I was hoping any of you can help out.
I was doing some research on it, and found that some games are subject to blackout, if the team playing is within X miles of their home market. So my question is do Warrior games get blacked out? Specifically in the Davis area. I ask because I'm am moving out there, and I know they don't get CSN Bay Area, which means no Warrior games, just Sacramento games. I'd like to be able to at least stream my Dubs games, but I don't wanna subscribe only to find out all the games will be blacked out. Thanks.
Trade Idea
As we all know, the Lakers are now 4-0 without Kobe Bryant, all coming against elite teams in the NBA. Here's a trade idea that takes Kobe off your hands and sets you up for the next few years at the SG position.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yf5fuy2
Lakers get: Monta Ellis, Vladamir Radmonovic, and Ronny Turiaf.
Warriors get: Kobe Bryant
I think the Lakers do this trade because, as stated above, they are 4-0 without Kobe, proving they don't need him to win. Also, Kobe is only on contract for one more year; you would be getting Monta for an additional 4 years. Finally, you also get back VladRad and Ronny, both former Lakers who can be perfect backups for Bynum and Gasol.
The Warriors do this because Monta wants out, and Kobe definitely puts us over the top to crack the top tier of the West.
Thoughts?

Better chance at Wall or new coach?
We all know Nellie needs 24 wins this season to break the record for most career wins. Also, most of us agree that Wall should be taken number one if the Warriors should win the lottery.
Here's the question:
A) Would you rather have Nellie break the record, guaranteeing a new head coach, leaving us with the smaller chance at winning the lottery,
OR
B) Have Nellie fall short of the record, return next year, and have a better chance (25%) at winning the lottery, and ultimately Wall.
***For the sake of the discussion, let's say in option B, the Warriors would in fact have the worst record in the league. Disregard the fact that it's highly unlikely that this would happen.***
Is a better chance at Wall worth keeping Nellie? I dunno, just a question I thought of randomly and thought might bring up good discussion.
Keep in mind this is all highly unlikely. Just wanted to see where everyone stands.
2007 Warriors-Mavs series: Best of decade?
NBA.com has a poll for best playoff series of the decade. The We Believe Warriors are currently behind the 2002 Lakers-Kings series and the 2009 Celtics-Bulls series.
VOTE!!!!
Or not, they're probably too far behind now, but hey, it's nice to see them getting some love.
I miss that team....
Warriors = Nets' first win of season?
Just saw a graphic on ESPN NBA shootaround. It showed the Net's next five opponents, their records, and the Net's chance of beating them.
Bobcats (7-10, 43% chance to win)
at Knicks (4-15, 28%)
at Bulls (7-9, 18%)
Warriors (6-12, 48%)
at Pacers (6-10, 10%)This was all based on computer projections. I'd like to know what was factored in to make these projections.

Vote for GSoM wherever you are allowed to!
Let's prove that GSoM is the best blog around.
On that note, let's go Warriors!!!! And Jazz tonight, and Rockets tomorrow! Woo.
Most likely to happen Part II
Warriors are now behind Denver a full game. To make the playoffs, the Warriors need to finish the season one win better, which means for the last 3 games, the Warriors need to win 2 more than Denver.
Warriors:
vs. Clippers
@ Phoenix
vs. Sonics
Denver:
@ Utah
vs. Houston
vs. Memphis
Question is this: What's more likely: Warriors going 3-0, (Denver goes 1-2, losses against Utah and Houston) with Phoenix being the toughest challenge,or Warriors going 2-1, while Denver goes 0-3, losing to Memphis.
Of course, all this is assuming we can beat LA and Seattle, while Denver loses to Utah and Houston.
Update [2008-4-10 23:43:44 by WarriorForLife]: I know many people have already stated these scenarios, but I thought I should make it a diary so we can bring all our thoughts to one place.
What is more likely to happen?
As of right now, the Warriors are half a game behind Denver for the final 8th spot. After Denver plays tonight, both teams will have 5 games remaining.
So let's say Denver beats Seattle tonight, which is the most likely scenario. The remaing schedules look like this: (Denver would be up a full game)
Warriors:
4/8 Sacramento
4/10 Denver
4/12 LA Clippers
4/14 @ Phoenix
4/16 Seattle
Denver:
4/8 @ LA Clippers
4/10 @ Golden State
4/12 @ Utah
4/13 Houston
4/16 Memphis
If both teams win the games they "should win" and lose the games they "should lose", this is what I see happening (And I mark the GS-Den game as a Warrior win for the sake of the argument, cause if they lose, the season is pretty much over):
Warriors:
4/8 Sacramento W
4/10 Denver W
4/12 LA Clippers W
4/14 @ Phoenix L
4/16 Seattle W
4-1
Denver:
4/8 @ LA Clippers W
4/10 @ Golden State L
4/12 @ Utah L
4/13 Houston L
4/16 Memphis W
2-3
This would put GS up a full game and into the playoffs.
The bold is because I see those two games as neither "should win" or "should lose." It can go both way for either game. So my question is this: What is more likely to happen? A win for the Warriors at Phoenix, or a win for Denver at home against Houston?
If the Warriors can win that Phoenix game, assuming we win every other "should win" game, we're in. If they were to lose that game, however, we would need Denver to lose against Houston, assuming they have lost their "should lose games"
Long diary, I know, but what do you guys think? [editor's note, by WarriorForLife]
The second poll answer hould read "DEN win" not "DEN loses." I can't edit it now, though.
Update [2008-4-7 0:6:11 by WarriorForLife]: SONICS BEAT DENVER!!!
As of tonight, there is a 5 game season for the Warriors and Nuggets. The Warriors again control their own destiny. This Thursday matchup between those two keeps getting bigger and bigger.
Interview with Stack Jack
In the midst of this highly stressful run to the playoffs, I thought this video would brighten up the moods a bit. It's an interview between mainly Stephen Jackson with a sprinkle of other Warriors. It made me laugh, hopefully it'll do the same for you guys.

Update [2008-3-28 21:25:27 by WarriorForLife]: Some others...
Playoff matchups.
For the past couple of months we've all been making our choices of who we'd rather face and who we'd rather not face if we make the playoffs. The majority of us seem to really want to play New Orleans, Phoenix, Dallas, or Houston, and would rather not play San Antonio, LA, or Utah. In order to draw a first round matchup against one of the previously mentioned four, we've been hoping that the Dubs will make a push into the 6th or even 5th seed. Although in the crowded West, this is a very possible scenario, it's highly unlikely, unless we go on a big win streak, and get some help from the likes of Phoenix and Dallas.
Now to my point. Let's say Houston stays on their hot streak, and continue to climb the standings. Suddenly it seems as if it's okay that we get the 8th seed, or 7th if the Rockets only end up in 2nd. But here lies the problem. If Houston does stay hot, are they still on the list of teams we'd rather play, or do they move onto the list with LA, San Antonio, ad Utah? As of today, the Rockets are in 1st with our Dubs still in 8th,setting up a first round matchup between the two if the playoffs were to start today.
What are your guy's (likely) choices for playoff matchups. Include seedings as well.
Idea/Speculation: Brent Barry
Yahoo Sports had an article about how the West is 9 deep with playoff worthy/deserving teams, and all the trading hooplah going on between them. Johnny Ludden, the writer of the artcle, mentions the recent trade between the Spurs and Sonics, and makes a speculation involving our very own Dubs.
The trade could have further implications for the conference. The Sonics are expected to waive Barry, possibly freeing the sharp-shooting guard to sign with a rival like Golden State or Phoenix once his calf injury heals.Yeah, it's only a speculation. Not a rumor in any way, but it got me to thinking of the possibility of the Dubs signing him. Sure he's old, way past his prime, and he'll not only take up cap space, but would also take away minutes from other wing players such as Buike and Pietrus, but he could also bring in a CONSISTENT three point shot, a veteran leadership, and maybe a little of this.....

The Warriors already have 15 spots taken up, so I don't know how this could work, but any thoughts?
February: Make or break the season?
We all know that our Warriors should be taking the season one game at a time. We also know that they are at home for all but one game this upcoming month. Not to mention that they play only 10 games in that 29 day span. That said, I believe this is the month that makes or breaks our playoff hopes. If they come out and play with the same intensity as they did tonight, we should be sitting pretty going into March. If they play like they did last night, we may be hoping for a few bounces in our favor come end season. Here are my best case predictions for this next month:
Fri. 1 Charlotte W
Thu. 7 Chicago W
Sat. 9 Sacramento W
Mon. 11 Washington W
Wed. 13 Phoenix W (I have a good feeling about this one)
Tue. 19 @ Utah W (Same as Sun game)
Wed. 20 Boston L (Second game of B2B, against best team in the L)
Fri. 22 Atlanta W
Tue. 26 Seattle W
Fri. 29 Philadelphia W
Feb. record: Best case; 9-1 Worse cae; 7-3(Other two losses to PHX and Utah)
Overall : Best case; 37-20 Worse case; 35-22
Again, I know we gotta take it one game at a time, and the Warriors are good at pulling off surprising wins as well as losing to teams we really should be beating. But I just could't help myself with this diary.
What are your predictions?
Warriors-Lakers: Student Night
So I was planning to go out to tomorrows game, and take advantage of the Student Night tickets. Anyone who's been to one of them know how easy or not it is to get in? And any ideas that might help my chances? Thanks alot.
