Golden State Of Mind Bringing back McGuire?

Below is something I pulled off of the ESPN rumor heap. I'd say if he wants to be here we keep him obviously for the right price. But I like his defense and hustle, plus he doesn't give cheap fouls (gets his money worth).

What are people's thoughts on him? I just think it's nice to hear someone actually wants to be on the Warriors for a change!

Dominic McGuire will be a free agent beginning July 1 and he wants to re-sign with the Golden State Warriors.

"Hell yeah. Without a doubt," McGuire told The Oakland Tribune. "No question about it. I would like to be back here. Hopefully I found a home. We'll see what happens."

McGuire is being paid the veteran minimum this season and he's been solid off the bench for head coach Mark Jackson.

"He's defended every great player we've faced -- whether it be playing 20 minutes, 30 minutes or just 10 seconds at the end of the game," says Jackson. "He's a winner. He's an absolute winner. We are fortunate to have him and hopefully we can keep him around."

The Warriors will likely sign him to a multi-year deal if his asking price isn't too high.

Golden State Of Mind Classless display tonight

While I do think we have the best fans in the NBA, and I agree every paying customer has the right to voice their opinion, I also feel there is an appropriate time and place for it. Unfortunately tonight the Warriors fans showed the worst of what NBA fans can be.

Tonight was supposed to be a night to honor and praise one of the greatest Warriors of all time. A night to retire the jersey of a team legend. However many people chose to use it as a venue to display their displeasure with ownership for it's trading of Monta Ellis. Whether or not you agree or disagree with the trade is 100% irrelevant, it is simply a poor reflection on a great fan base to display such indecency on a night for such a great Warrior.

Hopefully those that appreciate what Mullin was and meant to the team still were able to appreciate and enjoy the celebration for him. It's unfortunate that many loud and uninformed fans could not but aside their displeasure with one man while trying to honor another. I was embarrassed and ashamed to be a season ticket holder tonight, this display was far worse than the teams 17 win 2000-01 season.

Golden State Of Mind Warriors 12 step program: HELP!!!

I am a Warriors STH and after reading this article:

http://www.contracostatimes.com/warriors/ci_14489140?nclick_check=1

I realize the Warriors don't care about there fans. The reason? We keep showing up. As long as we keep showing up, they'll keep putting out whatever type of product they feel like.  Hire anyone to be GM and keep around a coach who's been in Hawaii since the year started (Mentally at least).

I'm just as much to blame as everyone else.  Year in and year out I renew my season tickets because once in the last 11 years I've had them we made the playoffs.  And one year there after we should have.

Unfortunately I didn't leave when they broke up the team.  Didn't leave when they fired the GM who, although he made some mistakes along the way, proved to be a compitent and accountable guy.  Didn't leave when it was obvious they would do whatever Nellie wanted regardless of how silly the trade was.

Along the way they justified it time and time again, like a parent that beats his child, but only because they love them.

I feel like a drug addict.  I am addicted to a team that is bad for me both physically and mentally.  I think someone needs to start a Warriors 12 step program, because I'm becoming tired of pouring my money and time into something that is this bad.  I guess admitting you have a problem is the first step.

Golden State Of Mind Would you be opposed to trading Ellis?

Obviously we need to trade Jackson, I don't thin anyone is arguing that at all.  And I'm aware that in the NBA, unless you are the lakers and other teams want to give you players for nothing (Memphis w/Gasol), it is difficult to get someone to trade a productive big for a gaurd.  However based on the state of the team would you be willing to trade Ellis and some throw in for a productive big man?

Here are some names I've looked at just to throw it out there:

Boozer Utah

West NO

Bosh TOR

Randolph Mem

I know there are some issues with some of these guys:  Bosh and Boozer free-Agency, Randolph character guy.

But if you put a PF who averages 10+ rebounds a game next to Biedres and then can more AR to the 3 I think it makes this team look a lot better immediately, plus most of those guys can score well in the low post.

I personnally would be much more intersted to watch this lineup:

PG - Curry

SG - Morrow

SF - Randolph

PF - Any of the above mentioned

C - Biedres

Might have to give up anothe role player and an expiring contract as well if it would work at all.

Also Bosh has a player option for next year that based on cap and economy he might want to pick up at 17+ mil

But money wise none of these guys pose a long term problem if they don't workout.

Golden State Of Mind Time to get someone to listen (ala Cleveland Browns)

If you don't wanna read all my opinions and just hear my idea just read the last 2 paragraphs.

I have been a Warriors season ticket holder since 1999 and have obviously seen many more terrible teams than good ones.  I still go out support the team, support the players.  However at what point should the fans take a stand to let management and coaches know that we demand better?

We are constantly touted as the "best-fans" in the NBA.  But I'm starting to think we're the most willing to deal with lack of commitment and ineptitude.

After being at the last 2 home games and watching the Phoenix game on TV, I've come to a realization that the coaches and managment had to know before the seaon started.  We are not a good team.  We have many talented players, as well as good one on one offensive guys (Magette for example) but we are not a good team.

I would imagine that under the best set of circumstances we would win maybe 30 games this year but it is more likely that we end up somewhere around 25.  I understand Nellie only needs 23 more wins to take over the all time lead, but what is the cost of his quest?

I sit there an watch him trot out Mikki Moore, a nice backup to a backup, Stephen Jackson (yes probably our best all around player, but he doesn't want to be here), Corey Magette (great scorer, no defense or passing at all), etc.  In the mean time Anthony Randloph sits and molds on the bench.

If we are building for the future, then let the young guys play.  Let me see a losing lineup of Curry, Randolph, Beidres.  Get Morrow more minutes and fill in the blank with whomever you want.  But don't keep putting out your "best lineup" for a team that is going no where but on vacation at the end of the regular season.  Find someone to take Jackson and/or Magette, get a serviceable Power Forward.  Let the young guys be young guys, if they make a mistake or do something wrong let them play through it.

At least I could stomach a bad team if I got to see glimpses of what the future might hold.  But all I see right now is Nelson turning Randolph into another Chris Webber situation.  The only difference is that Randolph has a better support system that won't let him act a  fool.

At any rate, my idea is similar to that of what some fans in Cleveland proposed to get managements attention.  On Wednesday December 16th we play the San Antonio Spurs on ESPN.  I'd stongly urge that we start now and get as many people involved as possible, as well as get some media attention, and stage a 1st quarter boycott.  That means no one show up til the end of the first quarter, let the stands be empty for the begining of that nationally televised game.  It worked for Cleveland, it got the owner to talk and the management to let people know what there plan was and if there was even one.

So that's my idea, anyone with me?
