Undercover cops will be donning Giants gear for the NFC Championship
Good on the 49'ers front office and the San Francisco police for doing this.
As someone who regularly goes to Seahawks road games, this is an issue dear to my heart. Football is a game, and some people take it entirely too seriously, and combined with swilling beer at games, can be real jerks. Actually, "jerks" is an incredibly mild term for how I feel about people who jeer, curse, scream, and throw things at opposing fans.
I live on the east coast, and I would like to enjoy Seahawks road games with my wife and daughter. I should be able to do so (while proudly wearing my Seattle colors) without having to worry about being attacked or accosted. Going to a game should be a family-friendly event, and the NFL would do well to remember that a lot of revenue goes out the window when you let a few bad apples ruin the experience for a lot of others.
Carroll: "Portis not ready to push for the job."
I suppose this means we'll see Portis playing soon? Joking aside, I find it funny that Pete says that Portis isn't ready to push for playing time (with Tarvarious injured). Whitehurst looks absolutely hopeless out there.
Kenny Phillips fined $20k for cheap shot on Zach Miller
Hope it was worth it, dope.
Taylor Mays traded to Bengals.
Just GNN, baby.
Just in case anyone needs a "pick-me-up" this morning.
Have some delicious Niner tears.
Absolutely excellent article by Rob Staton
Concerning the state of the team and the recent releases of popular players.
Haynesworth to Pats for pennies.
Fifth rounder for his services. More shrewd moves by the Pats.
Hines Ward nailed for DUI
Ah, schadenfreude.
Also, I don't know why it amazes me (considering the egos of these guys), but you have all that money. Get a limo. With sexy girls and a hot tub. Why risk your life, others' lives, etc? I would say "your career" but let's face it, this is a Steeler, I'm sure the crime will be swept under the rug and forgotten.
Seahawks Front Office Expert Dilfer: Seahawks may target Tavaris Jackson
Maybe when Hasselbeck is finally gone, Dilfer will find someone else to talk about.
Dilfer: Hasselbeck won't be back in Seattle.
Apparently Hasselbeck thinks he should be making more than $7 million a year. Hah. Good riddance.
Farrar's article on our pick
For all of you who are hyperventilating because we didn't get Jimmy Smith or a certain running back (that we don't need), or a hobbling, injured Da'Qwan Bowers, here's some good news.
And people: remember last year's draft. We did excellent. Trust in Pete and Schneider...I have a feeling they know what they're doing.
2011 Opponents set
I suppose it's good news for Seahawks fans who live in the northeast, cause that's where the team will be living for a good part of next year, including a trip to the rancid pit known as Heinz Field and a visit to Holmgren in Cleveland. Sucks for anyone (like me) living in the dirty south, as the Hawks will visit the Jerry Jones Shrine to Jerry Jones for their only trip to this part of the country.

Win or lose tonight, some good news regarding BMW
Apparently BMW is on the verge of signing a three year extension. Great news is so rare around here, and VERY welcome to see.
Also on PFT. I didn't link it above because last time I did, some people whined about PFT not being a credible news source.

Magic Johnson joins fight to bring Vikings to Los Angeles.
I have no love for the Vikings, but after watching the only NBA team I've ever cared about stolen away by that cattlefondler Clay Bennett, I can definitely sympathize with their fans.
Marshawn meets Whitehust's "pops."
Funny stuff. I'd love to hang around with this dude.
Heygood tears Achilles, done for season
Linebacker Anthony Heygood, who just resigned with the team yesterday, tore his Achilles tendon during stretching exercises this morning. He will most likely be waived/injured tomorrow, leaving yet another open roster spot.
Mebane staying at 3-tech
Mebane appeared to be a star in the making when he racked up six sacks and forced two fumbles at nose tackle in 2008, but he had just 1.5 sacks last season as a "three technique." Carroll still sees it as Mebane's best position, as it frees up Mebane to do more pass rushing than run stuffing.
Thank goodness, Spencer officially back at center
The team updated it's roster for the first time, including the new players. Interestingly, not only have Spencer and Unger been flip-flopped back to their original positions, but Ray Willis is now labeled as a guard.
Clemons at "elephant"
Funny that Curry isn't getting into this role...
Hawks sign Reggie Williams
"The 6-foot-4, 230 pounder looked his best during his final day of camp, doing a nice job of working the middle of the field and using his body to make tough catches in traffic."
Uh oh, spaghettios...are we still after Marshall?
The Seahawks pursuit of restricted free agent Brandon Marshall appears to be heating up. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll tells Mike Klis of The Denver Post that preliminary contract negotiations between the Hawks and Marshall's agent Kennard McGuire are underway.
